Profile Anders Dahlvig President IKEA Group

He has worked for Intel in Europe since 1982 in a variety of sales and marketing positions. In 1991, he helped start up Intel's business in Russia and the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union. Steve remembers those days fondly as Intel had no employees, no customers, no office, no communications, and there was no market as the economy of the Soviet Union was crumbling. Intel had a weak idea of what it wanted to do in Russia and the CIS, but it was all wrong. Intel started having success when it found its first Russian employees (who really had better ideas on what needed to be done) and when it started adapting its programs to the realities on the ground in Russia. Intel, with hundreds of other companies, has been building the IT industry in Russia and the CIS countries for the past 14 years. Steve became Regional Manager Former Soviet Union in 1993, and in mid-1997 he added the Central East European markets (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, etc.) to his portfolio. From 1999-2001, Steve held senior marketing and sales positions for Intel in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Steve came back to Russia for Intel in 2002.
