Selamat datang, Ariana Lanzer (CLO Summer Hire)

Do you like to write? Would you volunteer as a writer and communication specialist? A non-profit start up, 6x6 Women in Action, is seeking a summer volunteer - student or adult - to help with a women empowerment project, led by Sofia Blake, wife of the U.S. Ambassador and Neeru Singh, wife of the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia and the foundation Art of Living. 6x6 connects 6 Indonesian women and 6 global women, all working on social entrepreneurship projects. All 6 Indonesian women come from different parts of the country and work on 1) education; 2) recycling and waste management; 3) health and conservation; 4) women and children in trafficking; 5) peace-building and 6) social media. 6x6 wants to create platforms and networks that support them professionally and personally in their growth. Our volunteer would be working with a website designer on building a website. We welcome people who are interested in good writing, analytical skills, creative thinking and empowering women. Unfortunately, the job is unpaid. We expect the work will take 20-25 hours a week, and about a month. Flexible hours and can work from home. You can start immediately. Classifieds Dependable Gardener/Jaga, available late June: Pak Rubi has worked for us for 5 years, and for other U.S. Embassy families for 8 years before that (references available). He is friendly, honest, and a nonsmoker. He always has a smile on his face. Our yard looks nice. He is quick to answer the gate if there are visitors, and is diligent about security. Willing to work overtime for parties, etc. He knows where to go if you need shoes repaired, a tailor, etc. He rarely misses work. When we go out of the country, he takes care of our house, including feeding the fish. I trust him completely. Limited English. Contact: Blair, 0811-940-2358 or [email protected]. (6/4) Very Good Housekeeper/Cook, available August 1 (after Idul Fitri) Ibu Juju has worked for us for 18 months, and before that has worked for other U.S. Embassy, Australian Embassy, and private sector Australian families for more than 25 years. She is reliable, pleasant, hardworking, and a nonsmoker. She has excellent standards of hygiene, is a very good cook of both Indonesian and foreign dishes, and enjoys learning how to cook new dishes. She is also diligent about the housework, keeping the house clean, the dishes washed, and the laundry done. She is very careful with the iron, so as not to damage our clothes. She is available to work in South Jakarta only (e.g., Kebayoran Baru, Kemang). Passive English. Contact: Blair, 0811-940-2358 or [email protected]. (6/4) Superb Gardener and Caretaker Pak Sam has worked for us at FOA #10 for three years, as well as the family who preceded us. He’s been nothing short of superb. He not only expertly attends the landscape, but also takes care of our dog, including feeding, when we are out of town. In three years, Pak Sam has never missed a day of work, except to do his child’s school registration. Pak Sam is kind, punctual, dependable, and trustworthy. He speaks limited English. He has our trust, and we strongly recommend him for employment. Should you have questions, then please send an email to [email protected] or send a text 0812.199.46176. (5/28) We will be departing Jakarta very soon and would like to recommend our wonderful pembantu, Ibu Juminten. She has been with our family which includes three teenage boys for almost two years now and has been a great help to us during our stay here at Post. Ibu Juminten speaks English well and can follow recipes/ instructions in English. She cooks, cleans, does laundry/ irons and buys groceries for us.

She can cook a large variety of delicious western foods such as lasagna, meatloaf and shepherd’s pie, as well as local dishes. She also regularly goes to the pasar for us to purchase fresh fruits/vegetables. She is trustworthy and reliable and will even come in on weekends or stay late if you ask her to .Please contact Ibu Juminten at 081316204799 or email me at [email protected] if you have any questions. (5/28) Fabulous Nanny Available Ibu Tri is a truly fantastic nanny whom we highly recommend. She is warm and caring toward our young children. She is equally skilled at entertaining a wide range of ages; singing songs and playing on the floor with our baby and leading rousing games of hide-and-seek and imaginary tea parties for our preschool-aged daughters. She has endless patience with them all and has a real gift for caring for young children. Tri greets each day with a smile and shows great kindness to those around her. She diligently follows our instructions and routine, including preparing the children for school, dropping off and picking up the children from preschool, attending after school activities, relaying messages from teachers, feeding the baby and successfully getting him to nap per our schedule. Tri is unflappable and good-natured during the whirlwind of readying multiple children for school, often staying one step ahead. All of the children, including our baby, are excited to see her each day, which is a testament to her ability to bond with young children. She would prefer to work in Menteng or the Peak but is happy to consider Kemang or other locations as she has her own motorbike for transportation. Please contact Tri at 0878-8231-5729. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. (5/28) Great Part-Time Pembantu Available Mid-June Ibu Eti has worked for us for almost two years. We are leaving Jakarta in June, so she is looking for new employment. We have highly valued Ibu Eti's loyalty and reliability. She has extensive experience serving in expat homes and is highly professional. In two years, she has never missed a day of work or arrived late. She is always smiling and cheerful. She loves young children, and she is also very kind to our large black lab. She kept our house tidy, and she is very good at pressing dress shirts. Ibu Eti worked for us two full-days and three half-days a week. She would prefer to work in the Peak apartments as she is currently employed part-time by a Peak resident, but she is open to considering other locations. If interested, please contact her directly at 0858-8252-6609. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. (5/28)
