Read and Print Solutions Domino’s read and print solutions satisfy a growing requirement to ensure product integrity in the mailing process. When the mailing process requires the inclusion of personalized or multiple personalized documents matched to an external address, Domino provides turnkey solutions to ensure complete integrity. The Domino Editor GT Controller provides a perfectly integrated machine, vision and inkjet interface complete with comprehensive audit trail capabilities.

Selective Inserting Selective control of insert feeders, in order to customise products, based on demographic data known about subscribers.

Read and Match A camera positioned on the feeder as standard will read a preprinted OCR/2D Data Matrix code or a barcode. Other reading devices for reading OCR, magnetic stripe or RFID are also available. The data is transferred to the Editor GT controller where the matching record is accessed.

Turnover Some inserters will require the optional UniLine Turnover module in order to facilitate ink jet printing on the front of the envelope. Ink jet printing of promotional and postal data on the reverse of the envelope is also possible.

Controller The Domino Editor GT controller offers the ultimate modular solution. Unique product tracking functionality is combined with a range of camera and reader interfaces. Data received from the data capture devices is used to look-up and access record data for inline matching confirmation, ink jet personalisation and mail sort control. Requirements, such as reject gate control, interfaces for magnetic stripe and other types of readers plus selective feeding can be met, or the functionality may be added in the future.

Domino’s L400 is a high resolution ink jet printing system featuring the latest thermal ink jet technology from the Domino / Lexmark partnership. It is simple to use, easy to maintain and sets higher standards for print quality and operational performance. Alternatively the industrial K150 printer can be used with low volatile solvent of high impact UV curable ink for a range of coated substrates.

Ink Jet Options Domino offers a wide range of printers to meet different requirements.

L400 Ink Jet Printer Utilising innovative new Lexmark thermal ink jet technology.Typically used for printing on envelopes and other porous and semi-porous substrates.The Domino L400 thermal ink jet printer is available with simple cartridge as well as cost effective bulk tank ink supply options. Sets new standards for thermal printing in terms of print speed, print quality as well as facilitating a wider range of product thickness due to the innovative Duojet technology. A range of inks is available, including AQ13BK suitable for porous and semi-porous substrates and yet often only require print head cleaning following more than one hour of inactivity. Other coloured inks are also available.

K150 Ink Jet Printer

Print Capability

Industrial designed piezo drop on demand ink jet solution. Solvent inks are suitable for porous and semi-porous substrates. High impact UV curable inks are suitable for printing on a wider range of coated paper and plastic substrates.

Material Transport Options The Domino UniLine material transport modules include mail tables for ink jet printing, envelope turnover station, dryer table for coated substrates as well as a gate and a mail sort table. All of these TUV certified elements have been designed and validated for ink jet applications and can be retrofitted within your existing inserter line in order to facilitate 'Read and Print' customer requirements.

Features inertial damping, a choice of 3, 5 or single solid wide precision cast transport belt.The single solid wide belt is designed for where image stitching is delivered from multiple ink jet print heads.These precision transport modules are designed to realise the drop placement requirements for the latest 600dpi image resolution provided by the today's ink jet printer solutions.

Where envelopes are otherwise transported on the inserter face down, such as is the case with swing-arm inserters, a UniLine Turnover module is required to enable ink jet printing on the front face of the envelope. It can also also be used to facilitate printing on the front and reverse of the mail piece.

UniLine Dryer Base For non-porous substrates, a separate drying technology may be required. Domino offers an unparalleled range of dryers, including infra-red and near infra-red, as well as UV curing lamps for the KSeries UV curable ink product range. This dryer base is designed to dissipate the residual heat and includes UV/IR resistant belt technology. UniLine Shingle Conveyor Range of lengths, speed adjustable, includes either accelerate / surge or mechanical kicker for separating the mail stream in line with postal sort requirements.

Stacker A range of interfaces are available for leading stacker suppliers, including Rima, Sitma, Muller and Buhrs.

Line Controller The Domino Editor GT is a modular Windows XP based ink jet and line controller solution. System configurations range from single position address printing to multiposition personalisation combined with selective feeder control, camera matching of pre-personalised documents as well as mail sort.With over 2000 installations, the controller can be configured to meet a range of requirements on printing, finishing and mailing lines. Alternatively, simple single position addressing applications can also be facilitated using the Flexmail for Domino controller solution.

Simple feeder and line set up is combined with advanced tracking features from readers through up to six zones including constant monitoring and self checking of sensor status. System can be utilised both for continuous as well as cyclic motion inserters.Tracks pieces through multiple orientations of travel, detecting doubles and "short" miss-fed products as well as missing pieces.Total Sync is compatible with the Domino Editor GT and Flexmail for Domino controllers.

In addition to the external address, Domino ink jet printers can be utilised for further matched in-line personalisation including numbering or pre-addressing of response cards, plus promotional messages and games.

Data Capture and Control Editor GT can as standard interface directly with a wide range of barcode and 2D code cameras. Personalised documents include small barcodes or 2D codes that are subsequently used for identification, matching and tracking. Separate vision systems can also be deployed where a wider range of image matching and verification may be required. Cameras designed to also read other identifiers including OCR and embossing, or devices to match with magnetic stripes or RFID devices can be deployed. Editor GT can provide the following functions using the captured data: • Read and Print - Matching pre-personalised material with inline data to be printed

Selective With the correct interface, selective insert feeder control can be implemented based on demographic subscriber data.

Production On-Line Planning Option for managing the production schedule for multiple lines from a master production controller.

Project Management Domino assigns technical project managers to both vet the pre-order and then manage the post-order installation process. This will include where required, confirming available machine interfaces with the relevant inserter line manufacturer, and handling the complete installation and commissioning process leading to final system training and handover.

• Verify - Verifies mailing of pre-personalised material against a supplied data file at time of production • Selective - Reader / camera captured data is used to provide selective feeder control • Mail Sort - Camera captured data is used to define end of mail sort group via stacker shingle conveyor control

Re-Order For inserter applications involving the matching of pre-personalised documents, commonly Editor GT will be set to generate a line stop in the event of a miss-match where manual intervention is then required. For other events, documents can be diverted through an optional gate.With the correct interface, it is also possible through a feeder inhibit function to still divert products involving the missmatch of pre-personalised documents, and to re-establish the order sequence automatically. Diverted products are then handled as residue mail.
