Solutions for dry mortar and adhesive products In more than 50 years of activity FLSmidth Ventomatic SpA has manufactured and installed, all over the world, thousands of packing lines becoming one of the leading suppliers for cement and dry mortar producers.
The air type filling units are normally used for dry mortar and adhesive products as they have special features which are the state-of-the-art to cope with the products characteristic, such as:
Beside the traditional packers with vertical or horizontal shaft impeller (mainly suitable for fine products) with granulometry up to 3 mm (Horizontal shaft) and up to 8.000 Blaine (Vertical shaft), since more than 15 years FLSmidth Ventomatic® can provide airtype packers which are designed specifically to cope with the special requirements of the dry mortar and adhesive industry, where normally the products have a wider granulometry range.
- To cover a range of produc t s having the size of the grain up to 10mm or more (depending on the granulometry distribution curve); - To ensure a proper product handling preserving the material physical characteristic; - To have less parts subject to wearing.
FLSmidth Ventomatic packers variety include LINEAMAT™ P inline air packers from 1 to 4 spouts for low-medium capacity and GIROMAT® GE P rotary packers, from 4 to 10 spouts for high capacity. Additional equipments can also be provided for a complete automatic packing and dispatching line such as empty bag handling, bag treating systems, spillage recovery system and palletizers with stretch hood.
Main technical features: - Each filling unit has a special belltype valve controlling precisely the product flow: a tight closing is reached thanks to its accurate positioning ensured by a precise guiding system; - The fluidification points of the filling unit can be independently set according to the material characteristic;
LINEAMAT™ P air packers
- 3-position pneumatically controlled pinch valve with coarse and fine filling for high capacity and high weight accuracy; - Automatic cleaning and discharging system (for rotary packer) to change the product quickly with minimal contamination; - Spouts with inflateable rubber ring to minimize the product spillage. - State-of-the-art ultrasonic sealing system. A wide range of different bag sizes can be easily handled throughout the whole packing and dispatching line thanks to automatic devices that are adjusted by recipe.
The inline air packer is available with 1-4 spouts suitable for low-medium capacity packing plants.

Network
All filling units on the rotary packer are connected to a data network CANBUS. Through the unique FLSmidth Ventomatic® optical connection system, all the weighing units are also connected

to the absolute encoder for tracking their angular position and to the operator panel. The operator panel, and the remote control system VENTOLINK™ III, receive in real time the complete status
of each bag filling unit and also its weighing performance. Furthermore, all filling units can be completely programmed from the operator panel.

Check weigher The belt weigher VENTOCHECK™ III can also be connected to the same network exchanging data with the other systems such as packer, operator panel, VENTOLINK III.
The supervision and reporting system VENTOLINK III (optional) collects and presents production data from packers and belt weighers in tables and in graphic form.

The completely redesigned HW platform includes the following main new features:
- Automatic taring;
- Powerful microprocessor permits high-speed response and very accurate control of the dynamic weighing process;
- Filling parameters self adjusting;
- Check correct empty bag application check; - Bag breakage detection; - Filling unit aeration (start/stop); - Automatic bag support saddle levelling system; - Rapid product emptying control; - Continuous bag discharge adjustment according to rotation speed, bag sizes and product conditions.
- Separate weighing module, mounted on a slot of the main board, equipped with sigma-delta technology A/D converter with a double post digital filter action; - Possibility of installing optional modules, i.e. analog I/O, additional digital I/O, etc for covering special applications.
- Zero setting; - Coarse and fine flow; - Filling time control; - Dynamic filling cycle optimisation; - Set-point autocorrection; - Set-point correction feed back from the check weigher (in option).
Application The new electronic unit is used on all Ventomatic weighing applications: rotary packers; in-line packers; air- packers; bigbag machines; belt check weigher, etc.
