This is an easy answer as in 2015 the Annual Lincoln Grand Prix will be in its 60 edition and the honour of organising the championships and incorporating this prestigious road race in to the event is a fitting tribute to its pedigree. th

2015 will also be the 800 Anniversary of Magna Carta and on June 15 this will be celebrated in Lincoln which holds one of only four copies of this historic document upon which the constitution of many of the countries of the world is founded. The refurbishment of Lincoln Castle and the creation of a purpose built museum to house Magna Carta will be completed and a ceremonial opening of this project will also take place in June. th

It will also be the 70 Anniversary of the end of World War 2 and a memorial to the airmen who lost their lives in this war will be opened atop Lincoln's Canwick Hill, its tall structure visible for miles around. Local authority support for the championships has come from Lincolnshire County Council, the City of Lincoln Council, East Lindsey District Council and West Lindsey District Council providing some base funding to get the project off the ground but with a budget for the event approaching £250,000 there has also been a major effort to obtain commercial support and sponsorship. These championships are held annually but the most recent were in Glasgow, Scotland in 2013 when they th formed the test events for the 20 Commonwealth Games Road Race and Time Trials. The event moved in to The Celtic Manor and Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, Wales in 2014 and now will be in Lincolnshire, England this year. The road championships will feature Time Trials and Road Races for both men and women. There will also be a supporting programme of events including the Championships Sportive which is expected to attract 2,500 riders. The dates for your diaries are: th

British Cycling National Time Trial Championships

This event will be held in the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds proving that Lincolnshire is not a flat county after all. The circuit will be based at Cadwell Park Motor Racing Circuit which is 6 miles south of the County town of Louth and 25 miles east of Lincoln. The organisation would like to thank East Lindsey District Council and Motor Sport Vision along with Lincolnshire Highways for securing this superb venue for the start and finish of the time trial championships. The event start will complete a full lap of the 2.2 mile circuit which includes a climb aptly named The Mountain, leaving via the main entrance along the A153 to the Bluestone Heath Road to complete a country loop to return to Cadwell Park to finish. There will also be events in the morning for schools and a full circuit road race for licensed riders.

The time trials will also be used as the opening event of the East Lindsey SO Festival which attracts thousands of visitors to the area with a full programme of cultural events taking place over a 10 day period. Alongside this an Expo is planned for local organisations and traders. 2015 British Cycling National Time Trial Championships circuit plan
