Notice about Rules Updates of China Southern Airlines' International Baggage Carriage There will be changes of baggage carriage rules for some routes and classes of China Southern Airlines’ international and regional transportation. The updated international baggage carriage rules will be as follows: 1. Piece concept will apply for baggage carriage on all routes of China Southern’s international and regional transportation. 2. Baggage carriage rules (see attachment for more details): 2.1 For each passenger holding a ticket of journeys involving China Southern’s Japan, America, Oceania, or Moscow routes for adults, children, or infants with a seat, the free checked baggage allowance is: 3 pieces for premium first class or first class, maximum weight of each piece being 32KG (70 pounds); 2 pieces for business class, maximum weight of each piece being 32KG (70 pounds); 2 pieces for premium economy class or economy class, maximum weight of each piece being 23KG (50 pounds). 2.2 For each passenger holding a ticket of international journeys not involving China Southern’s Japan, America, Oceania, or Moscow routes for adults, children, or infants with a seat, the free checked baggage allowance is: 3 pieces for premium first class or first class, maximum weight of each piece being 32KG (70 pounds); 3 pieces for business class, maximum weight of each piece being 23KG (50 pounds); 1 piece for premium economy class or economy class, maximum weight of each piece being 23KG (50 pounds). 2.3 For each passenger holding a ticket of international journeys in R/X class, the free checked baggage allowance is 1 piece, maximum weight of each piece being 23KG (50 pounds). 2.4 While making reservations for overseas-student, laborer, seamen, and emigrant passengers, passenger type codes SD, DL, SC, and EM must be in EI box correspondently; while quoting fares, correspondent passenger type codes must be entered to quote correct free baggage allowances. On the date of flight departure, the above-mentioned passengers should provide proofs at check-in counters. 2.5 The sum of three dimensions of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 158CM (62 inches). 2.6 For each infant passenger holding a ticket of international journeys for infants without a seat, the free checked baggage allowance is 1 piece, maximum weight of each piece being 10KG (22 pounds), maximum sum of three dimensions being 115CM (45 inches), plus one wholly foldable pushchair or stroller. 2.7 The above free baggage allowance standards also apply for group passengers. 2.8 Extra free baggage allowances for China Southern’s Sky Pearl Club gold card holders, silver card holders, and SkyTeam elite members and elite plus members shall apply according to relative regulations. 2.9 Excess baggage fee shall apply according to the attachment.

3. Size and weight limits for checked baggage 3.1 For passengers travelling on China Southern’s international or regional flights, or domestic flights connected with them, when the U.S.A. routes are involved, the weight of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 45KG (90 pounds), and the sum of three dimensions of it must not exceed 158CM (62 inches). 3.2 For passengers travelling on China Southern’s international or regional flights, or domestic flights connected with them, when the U.S.A. routes are not involved, the weight of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 32KG (70 pounds), and the sum of three dimensions of it must not exceed 158CM (62 inches). 4. The updated baggage carriage rules shall become effective as of January 1, 2013 (ticketing date). Regulations related with ticket revalidation shall apply as follows: 4.1 Voluntary revalidation 4.1.1 If the ticket is totally un-used, the free baggage allowance rules and excess baggage fee standards effective on the date of revalidation shall apply. 4.1.2 If the ticket is partly used, the free baggage allowance rules and excess baggage fee standards effective on the date of original ticketing shall apply. 4.2 Involuntary revalidation The free baggage allowance rules and excess baggage fee standards of the original ticket shall apply. For example, if a passenger is involuntarily upgraded to a higher class of service, the free baggage allowance rules of the original class shall apply. 5. Other regulations shall apply according to related provisions in General Rules of International Passenger and Baggage Carriage and Ground Service and Handling Manual – International Business. All sales departments shall do the sales and explanation according to the baggage rules shown on GDS’s. If the GDS’s do not show baggage rules, it is required to manually enter free baggage allowances according to IATA Resolution 302 and baggage rules of China Southern, so as to ensure normal sales.

Supplementary Notes about CZ’s Baggage Rules Updates

Below are some supplementary notes about CZ’s baggage rules updates, which will become effective as of January 1, 2013 (ticketing date): 1、 VFR extra baggage allowance will only apply to VFR fares. As for routes or areas where no VFR fares have been published, normal passenger baggage allowance will apply. 2、 Overseas student extra baggage allowance applies only to passengers who holds valid student identity proof or school admission letter, and only to journeys between the country of nationality and the country of school. 3、 Passenger Type Code(PTC) of special passengers could be entered in EI box as well as behind passenger’s name. 4、 Charge of excess baggage fee: ground handling department will judge in accordance with CZ’s rules for baggage connecting carriage and IATA Resolution 302, if baggage through check-in is permitted or the journey is in the same BT (Baggage Travel), excess baggage fee will be charged once at the first check-in; if not, it will be charged respectively at each check-in. The actual operation will be subject to the ground handling system. 5、 Where there are stopovers during the journey, the higher applicable baggage allowance according to China Southern International Baggage Allowance will still apply. For example, for a journey in economy class: SYD-CZ-CAN(stopover)-CZ-DXB, the whole journey will enjoy a free baggage allowance of 2PC. 6、 When the MSC sector is a code-share flight, the free baggage allowance will be subject to: 1) baggage rules of MC if the flight is code shared between CZ and AF/KL; 2) baggage rules of MC if the flight originates/arrives in any point in the U.S.A.; 3) baggage rules of OC in other cases. 7、 After the updates take effect, GIT passengers will have the same baggage allowance as FIT passengers. The current special baggage allowance documents for GIT passengers will be invalid. Unless specified in GIT fare documents, GIT passengers cannot enjoy extra baggage allowance for special passengers. 8、 The updates will be distributed to all GDS’s. The baggage allowance will be subject to the automatic quoting of GDS’s.
