Programme 1.day: Arrival at the Hotel, dinner and overnight. 2. day: After breakfast, we leave towards Rapallo, one of the most popular holiday resorts on Eastern Riviera. We stop to look at the spectacular promenade and the yacht port. From here a ferry takes us to Portofino along an elegant stretch of coast. The cape of Portofino is a strip of land covered in olives and maritime pines. The wonderful plants are protected. Portofino lies in a natural bay, jetty for yachts and high society ships. By boat, we reach Santa Margherita, a very well known resort close to Portofino. There, enjoy some free time for a visit to “Santa”, how the resort is also called in short, before returning to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight. 3. day: After breakfast, departure tu Genoa. Of course Genoa has grown and changed since Goethe, Stendhal and Byron fell in love with it... 1992 Genoa was the home of the well known EXPO and the then-built ways today are cosy promenades. The aquarium was also opened in the same year. Within 50 pools it is tried to rebuild the sea life. Penguins, tropical fish, seals, corals, dolphins, turtles, grey sharks, snakes and a 3D movie. All this and more can be seen in this aquarium which is located in the real heart of Genoa: the so called “old port”. European cultural capital 2004, has the side of a metropolis now a days. However the ancient city still has the same flair and therefore a walk through it is like a journey trough the middle ages with all its cloisters and the house of birth of Genoas best known son Columbus. Breathtaking palaces, coloured fronts... and in the middle of this wealth we are to get a glimpse of luxurious gardens and backyards. The Via Garibaldi is a World Heritage Site. The whole old town is jovial with its countless little shops and the monumental cemetery which was funded by the bourgeoisie. So you see, Genoa has not only a great daily life but also a history of art. Back to the Hotel, dinner and ovenight. 4. day: After breakfast, departure for a full day excursion to the Cinque Terre region. A world in itself that has kept its superb unspoiled beauty thanks to its wild nature. The beauty of the Cinque Terre lies in a canvas of contrasts, from the sea to the steep rugged cliffs, from the stony land to the green vineyards from which a famous wine is obtained.

5 Ligurien – 5 Terre 2012

Monterosso is the westernmost of the Cinque Terre: we visit the historic centre with the Cappuccini Abbey and the 14th century Church of San Giovanni. Later we take the train to Vernazza, a small village perched on the cliffs with houses gathered around the church, we pass Corniglia and reach the picturesque village Riomaggiore. There is a very beautiful high winding footpath along the coast called The Lovers’ Pathway, “La Via dell’Amore”, which starts in Riomaggiore and leads to Manarola. Optional boat transfers, on request. Transfer by bus back to the hotel, dinner and overnight. 5. day: Time to say goodbye... After breakfast, departure back home.

Programme Day 1: Arrival day in the Veneto region. Check in at hotel, dinner, and lodging. Day 2: All-day excursion to Murano and Burano. Following breakfast, you’ll meet your tour guide in the hotel, and your motor coach will take you to the pier where your private boat awaits you. A 4hour boat tour will take you to the islands of Murano and Burano. In Murano, you’ll also visit a glass-blowing shop. After the excursion, your boat will take you to Venice (disembark next to Piazza San Marco). Time on your own. At the conclusion, the boat will take you to back to Punta Sabbioni, and from there with the motor coach to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. Day 3: All-day excursion to Treviso and the Prosecco Wine Route. Following breakfast, you’ll meet your tour guide in the hotel. You’ll travel by motor coach to the land of the famous Prosecco wine. Treviso may be considered one of Italy’s most beautiful painted cities. The frescoes and decoration that adorn archways, churches, and palaces bring the city's history to life. Running through Treviso is the Sile River, which, together with a labyrinth of canals, gives the city an idyllic atmosphere. In Treviso, a guided walking tour so that you can see the city (excludes all entrance fees). After a bit of time on your own in the afternoon, you’ll reach Italy's oldest wine route, where you'll visit a Prosecco wine cellar and finally get a chance to try Prosecco. Afterwards, return trip to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. Day 4: Excursion to Padua and Vicenza. Morning travel by motor coach to the university city of Padua, where you’ll take a two-hour guided tour. A city with ancient origins – it was a pre-Roman settlement – Padua still retains numerous, intact signs of its important past. The vibrant old city with its lively squares, arcades, and beautiful palaces boasts artistic and architectural treasures of incomparable beauty: the Basilica of St. Anthony, Romanesque and Gothic in style; the city walls from the 16th century, one of Italy’s longest city walls; the age-old university, which was attended by Dante and Petrarch; the Dome and the famous Botanical Garden (optional).

In the afternoon, you’ll travel with the motor coach on to Vicenza, the City of Palladio, where a twohour guided tour will help you to discover this elegant city. Located at the base of Monte Berico, Vicenza enjoys a natural backdrop unmatched for its beauty, which forms a unique tableau for the numerous Veneto-style villas. Every visitor to this city can’t help but get carried away by this impressive world of the great architect Andrea Palladio. The centre of the old city appears to be almost abstractly created from light and space: The beautiful Basilica Palladiana, the Chiericati, Porto, Valmarana, and Thiene Bonin Longare palaces, and the Teatro Olimpico underscore the classically inspired architectural and urban planning. Late afternoon, return trip to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. Day 5: Following breakfast, departure by motor coach for the region of Friuli. After about 1-½ hours, you’ll reach the beautiful medieval town of Spilimbergo, known as the City of Mosaics because of its being home to one of the world’s most important mosaic schools. Here, a tour guide will lead you through this beautiful area. First, you’ll visit the old city, which features the Duomo of Santa Maria Maggiore, the castle, and the Palazzo di Sopra, today home to City Hall. And of course, you’ll visit the Mosaic School, whose origins date back to the late 16th century. The excursion continues on to San Daniele del Friuli, renowned for its prosciutto, where you’ll have a chance to taste this tender, delicious product. The trip takes only about 30 minutes. After visiting a well-known prosciutto producer, a prosciutto tasting is planned. Afterwards, you’ll have a guided tour of the centre of San Daniele and the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate with its wonderful Renaissance frescoes. The centre is located on a hill, and from there you’ll have a beautiful view of the whole area. You’ll of course also have time on your own, and late in the afternoon, you’ll travel back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight. Day 6: After breakfast, departure. After these cooking classes in Tuscany, it will be just a bad memory! The most important secrets about the Tuscan cooking are going to be revealed to you by a professional Chef in the scenery of a nice Villa from the 16th century. Equipped with professional apron and chef's hat, you will be the chef of your own creations during every lesson. You will taste the courses, you have made, enjoying the lunch together. Every participant, who have joined the cooking classes, will receive the certificate of participation, directly signed by the professional cook. 3rd Day - After breakfast, the second day of your cooking class is beginning. Lesson two: A particularly interesting day on your program! You are going to visit an old fruit and vegetables market in the town, where you will buy fresh ingredients for your daily cooking class directly from the farmers of the sorrounding. Today on the cooking plan i.e. menu: "paste fresche e sughi vegetariani" (fresh Pasta and vegetarian Pasta sauces). On the way back to the hotel, short visit of the town centre: the city hall and the Tettuccio, the most beautiful and most important thermal establishment in Montecatini Terme. After the cooking class, light lunch with the self-made courses; afternoon free at your disposal. 4th day - After breakfast, the third day of your cooking class is waiting for you. Lesson three:Meat courses and the right spices (rosemary, sage, myrtle, etc), Dessert, Focacce. After the cooking class, light lunch with the self-made courses; afternoon free at your disposal.
