B I K I N G FO R S C E N E RY Winter is perfect time in Las Vegas for taking a spin on a bicycle and enjoying the one-of-a-kind view—the days are sunny and crisp yet comfortable. Didn’t pack your ride? No problem. Downtown Las Vegas features a convenient and fun bike share program. 21 stations scattered throughout the historic district carry 180 bicycles available for self-service rental. You can pedal by the hour, or opt for a day pass. While cruising the streets, you can see vintage architecture, classic neon signs, and vibrant contemporary street art including eye-popping murals. It’s a whole new way to see Vegas, and burn a few calories, too.

Step into the most evocative and talked-about new bar in Las Vegas: The Dorsey. Craft cocktail aficionados are making the gorgeous lounge a must-do on top-notch mixology itineraries, especially for the house specialty, the Penicillin. Taking cues from the Golden Age of cocktailery, it's a timeless, delicious, and invigorating blend of Scotch whisky, lemon, honey, and ginger. Think plenty of sweet citrus zing with faint smoky, peaty notes. It ’s a creation of acclaimed New York City bartender Sam Ross. The New York Times named it as one of the eleven essential drinks of the modern cocktail revival. Clink a glass or two with your fellows and make a toast to health.

ᅈelcomƃ year of the

Every year, thousands of Las Vegas visitors...

venture to the Waterfall Atrium at The Palazzo to experience our impressive and detailed Chinese New Year installation. On January 28, an enormous and unforgettable avian figure appears, marking the beginning of Chinese New Year and the celebrated Year of the Rooster. Visitors will be amazed by the bold presence of a 16-foot-tall rooster adorned in vibrant red, orange and golden flowers. In Asian traditions, the rooster is associated with fire, so

its neck is ringed with dramatic flametipped feathers. The awe-inspiring assemblage is made even more astounding by the gorgeous tangerine and orange trees that surround it. The direction that the rooster’s head faces was meticulously planned according to the rules of Feng Shui. By looking toward the west, the beautiful bird beholds the direction of power. Fe n g S h u i — o r t h e C h i n e s e philosophy of being in harmony with the environment—is an essential

part of the Year of the Rooster. Every installation detail is expertly inspected and meant to encourage an auspicious and beneficial year. The Year of the Rooster installation fills the Water fall Atr ium with memor y-making beauty through Februar y. It can be mar veled at any time—morning, day or night and always makes for a stunning photo opportunity.

DID YOU KNOW?

FENG-SHUI TO-GO

ᄸoosteၨ

Want to bring a little bit of Feng Shui home from your Las Vegas visit? Here’s an easy and fun traditional technique: On Chinese New Year’s Day, stand in front of your home, then roll eight oranges through the front door. It’s said that wealth in the coming year will follow them inside.

The elaborate installation took The Venetian and The Palazzo’s floral and design experts one-year to plan. It’s a monumental undertaking, starting with sourcing the massive amount of flowers needed for the artistic tableau. The ornate face, alone, took eight months of brainstorming and continual refining to create its striking and memorable visage. All the floral colors and citrus fruits have been carefully chosen for their symbolic value. Red and its related tones represent money and wealth. The fruits represent abundance, as well as hopes for a prosperous year. All this is surrounded by a green forest of leafy bamboo, a cooling balance to the colossal rooster’s fiery power.

CAN YOU SPY? In ancient traditions, the sign of the rooster is said to get along well with the sign of the dragon. A small and elusive but nonetheless magnificent creature lives in a pond near its mighty petal-feathered friend. Take a moment and see if you can find the scaly creature. Also concealed somewhere in the display is a small paper scroll featuring well-wishes written in Chinese calligraphy. It was placed there by a Feng Shui master to make the artwork even more meaningful.

L AV O C A S I N O & SPORTS LOUNGE LAVO Casino & Sports Lounge is one of the hidden gems in the Las Vegas nightlife scene. Sophisticated and under-the-radar, it’s hidden away at the top of a discreet staircase inside LAVO Italian Restaurant. For our wine-loving guests, here’s a secret fact for you: with a wine inventory that surpasses 57,000 bottles at any one time, there’s always something new to sip, savor, and enjoy. (Yes, that’s 5-7 with three zeros.) Even more exciting, you have a choice of more than 750 unique vintages served by the glass throughout our various restaurants, lounges, and bars. And with many of our restaurants updating their lists weekly, many of those bottles don’t stick around long. When it comes to volume and quality, Emeril Lagasse’s Delmonico Steakhouse has one of the leading collections anywhere. With more than 14,000 bottles, it has been honored with the prestigious Wine Spectator Grand Award. And, one of the finest, rarest, and most expensive wines available is waiting at Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich’s Carnevino: a 2012 grand cru Burgundy from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The price: $30,000 per cork.

When you order a cocktail at YARDBIRD SOUTHERN TABLE or CUT BY WOLFGANG PUCK, pay attention to the ice. Both bars feature an artisanal ice program, where as much thought is put into the ice as is the ingredients of the drink. Hint: Try the off-the-menu drink YBG&T at Yardbird. The 3-D dimensional pattern on the floor of THE VENETIAN GRAND COLONNADE was hand fitted with Italian marble to perfectly replicate the floor of the Church of Santa Maria del Rosario. Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Venetian Gondolier? Up to nine people a day can experience the craft firsthand as part of GONDOLIER UNIVERSITY. Sessions are held daily between 8am and 10am, and enrollment begins 48-72 hours in advance. Must be 13+. Contact the concierge for details. You've checked in, now what? Well, it's time to think about tomorrow with our SECOND-DAY SUITE EXPERIENCES – the perfect way to personalize your stay. You simply tell us what you're celebrating, and we'll arrange to have your suite dectorated while you're out and about. Please call 1.866.395.4345 for details.

1. REGISTER EARLY The earlier you check-in and register for events, the quicker the process. Most convention attendees wait until the first day. Take advantage of early opportunities. 2. PRIORITIZE Research schedules and program guides. Make a list of activities and classes that interest and benefit you the most. Don’t always follow the crowds—smaller sessions can be the most meaningful. Choose events based on your personal interests and business goals. 3. MAXIMIZE YOUR SESSION TIME Network with fellow attendees or use social media with a carefully crafted tweet. Familiarize yourself with the session topics ahead of time, reviewing speaker blog posts, other writings and videos. 14

4. VISIT TOP VENDORS ON THE FIRST DAY This is usually when the most senior reps are available. 5. LEARN FROM THE PROS & TEACH THE NEWBIES For first-timers, ask col leagues where the best restaurants are, where to find the most reliable W i-F i hotspots and which are the most useful session tracks. If you’re a convention pro, be sure to share your tips and experiences, as well. 6. CHARGE YOUR GADGETS Power up before you head to events, and bring spare cords to recharge later in the day. 7. PACK ESSENTIALS & TRAVEL LIGHT Bring cash, photo ID and a light snack. Wear comfortable shoes.

8. GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR SURROUNDINGS Know where to find food and drinks, and plan accordingly to beat lunch crowds. 9. IT’S A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT Eat and stay hydrated. Take care of yourself and get a good night’s sleep. 10. NOT ALL GOES AS PLANNED It’s important to prioritize and do your homework before arriving. It’s the spontaneous opportunities that can create the most memorable experiences, so roll with last minute changes and have fun.

LOVE, optimistic in spirit and scale, takes stunning form as stamped steel structures rise 12 feet high, sit 10 feet wide, and weigh between 9 0 0 a n d 1 , 5 0 0 po u n d s. I t ’s n o t just siz e that matters with this installation; the finer details are just as impressive. Each individual letter

“LOVE is about being free to love who you want, the way you want,” says Kimpton in describing her work. “The bird stamps in the letters represent being able to follow your dreams, which is the message that I hope will inspire people as they interact with the piece.” Even more, the location of LOVE is just as important as the piece itself, says Kimpton, “Las Vegas is the city where people pursue their dreams, and this sculpture will act as a touchstone for this pursuit.” If the style of LOVE looks familiar, or if Kimpton’s name rings a bell, it’s with good reason. She’s been gaining an increasingly high worldwide profile for her mixed media installations and sculptures.

A Tour ၙf Ital႕

Right here, under one continuous roof, you can say “ciao!” to an unparalleled c o l l e c t i o n o f r e s t a u ra n t s featuring the amazing f o o d s o f I t a l y . Fr o m t h e north to the south of “the boot ” to islands like Sicily, journey with us through the appetizers, pizzas, pastas, entrées, and desserts of one of the world ’s great gastronomic traditions.

The adventure continues at Z E F F I R I N O with its timeless menu filled classics like Ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta in vodka-tomato sauce. At the friend l y, informal T R AT TO R I A R EG G I A N O , enjoy Gnocchi al Pesto redolent with basil and pine nuts. Keep your excursion casual at G R IM AL DI'S P IZ Z E R IA, where family and friends can split one of their famous coal-fired pizzas like the Quattro Formaggi, which features four delectable cheeses. Relax with the famous proseccoand-peach cocktail of Venice in the namesake B E L L I N I B A R . Grab a pick-me up macchiato at C A F E P R E S S E , featuring LaVazza, Italy's favorite coffee. And don’t forget, your edible tour of Italy can also include an intimate dinner of pizza, pasta, and pinot grigio from our IN - S U ITE DIN IN G menu.

Our Italian-inspired epicurean roadmap includes two establishments by Buddy Valastro, the star of TLC's Cake Boss. He's brought his family's New Jersey-style recipes to Las Vegas, like the Caprese at BUDDY V'S RISTORANTE. It's a brilliant salad of burrata cheese, rosso bruno tomatoes, basil, balsamic, and grilled filone bread. For something hearty, Nonna's Lasagna al Forno features layers of pasta filled with Italian sausage, beef, and pork. There's also a quartet of ricotta, mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheese inside. Valastro puts desserts on the itinerary at C A R L O ' S B A K E RY. Try an order of Sfogliatella—delicate pastry shells filled with creamy baked ricotta and lemony citron zest. Go decadent with crispy cannoli or rich cakes in a wonderful variety of flavors like tiramisu and chocolate mousse.

A N E D I B L E AV V E N T U R A We'll start our culinary journey with restaurants created by Chef Mario Batali and his partner Joe Bastianich. Their upscale B & B R I S T O R A N T E specializes in dishes like Calamari and Seppie " Fr i t t i , " a f r e s h - f r o m - t h e - s e a antipasto with accents of capers and pickled chili. For pasta, go robusto with Pappardelle "Bolognese." The hand-cut ribbons are rich with veal and pork ragu. At C A R N E V I N O , the duo's menu includes the fresh Insalata Romana with sweet garlic dressing, fennel, and crispy parmigiano cracker. Fol low it with a sizzling L a F iorentina, a traditional Tuscan porterhouse steak, and a side of roasted eggplant with tomato and ricotta. The ebullient O T T O E N O T E C A P I Z Z E R I A is the per fect place for the pizz a that started it all: margherita. It's rustic and delicious with tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves.

Don’t get full yet, though… there’s plenty more to savor thr oughout The Venetian and The Palazzo.

U P O N A R R I VA L T O Y O U R S U I T E When you arrive at your suite, locate the emergency exits on your floor. Each floor includes emergency exits at the end of the hallway. It is important that you find the emergency exit before an emergency occurs. To help remember the location, walk to the emergency exit from your suite. LIABILITY The resort’s liability for guest property is limited by the State of Nevada Innkeeper’s Law. Valuables may be stored at no charge in your In–Suite safe. For more information, please touch the “Operator” button on your In–Suite telephone. L O C AT E T H E E M E R G E N C Y E X I T S Counting the doors between your suite and the emergency exits will help you remember the location and distance. We have included three extra exit signs located at the bottom of the wall near the floor. In the event of heavy smoke, the only fresh air available will be low to the ground. The low exit signs will help you reach the emergency exits.

33

Each floor of The Venetian and The Palazzo is equipped with fire extinguishers. It is important that you know the locations of the closest fire extinguisher to your suite. Read the Emergency Exit Diagram. An emergency exit diagram is located on the entry door of your guest suite. Reviewing the map will acquaint you with the location of the emergency exit.

If You Discover Fire

If you discover a fire, immediately close all doors. If possible, close all the doors around the fire to keep it from spreading. Place a wet towel, cloths, sheets, blankets, or bedspreads at the base of your door. The towels will help to prevent smoke from entering your suite.

Report the Fire Immediately

To report a fire, please touch “0” and tell the Resort Operator your name and suite number.

Large Fires

Your safety is of the utmost concern during a fire. Do not take unnecessary risks. In the unlikely event of a large fire, exit the building through the emergency exits.

Stay Calm

It is important that you do not panic. During a fire, the ability to think clearly may save your life. The public address system, with speakers placed in every guest suite, will broadcast important instructions.

Evacuation Procedures

In the event of an emergency evacuation, first test your suite entry door by placing the back of your hand against it. If the door is cool, open it carefully and check for smoke. If the hallway is filled with smoke, stay in your suite and shut the door immediately.

Feel the Corridor Walls

As you proceed to the exit, stay close to the corridor walls and low to the floor if the hallway is dark and filled with smoke. The air close to the floor is clearer, cooler, and cleaner. Remember the number of doors to the exit and look for the emergency lights placed low on the wall near the exits.

Exit Cautiously

Test the exit door with the back of your hand before opening it. If the door is hot, do not open it. If the door is cool, open it slowly and check for smoke. If there is thick smoke in the stairwell, immediately close the door and either return to your suite or proceed to the exit at the other end of the hallway. If the stairwell is safe, exit the building.

Avoid Elevators

N E V E R U S E T H E E L E VAT O R D U R I N G A F I R E E M E R G E N C Y.

Emergency Exit Destinations

Emergency exits are to be used for evacuation purposes only. Stay calm and proceed cautiously to the ground level emergency corridors and exit the building.

Blocked Exits

If your exit is blocked or filled with smoke, try the emergency exit on the opposite end of the hallway, past the center lobby of the floor.

If You Cannot Leave Your Suite

In the event that you cannot leave your suite, it is important that you stay calm and think clearly. Fill your bathtub with water and wet towels, blankets, and sheets to place

at the bottom of your guest suite entry door. This will help prevent smoke from entering your suite. Fill wastebaskets with water to re– moisten the wet cloths.

For Our Disabled Guests

In addition to the preceding items, we ask that our disabled guests familiarize themselves with the following: • Specially equipped suites are available for your comfort and convenience. • Wheelchairs are available through the Guest Services Desk. • Hospitality kits for the Hearing Impaired are available through the Resort Operator. H OURS: Guest Services 24/7 PH ON E : Extension 44333

Hearing–Impaired Guests

TDD kits are available from the Resort Operator. If you are in a suite and aware of a fire emergency, please use your TDD phone to contact the Resort Operator for instructions. If you are in a public area, contact a Security Officer or use a TDD house phone located next to the Front Desk in both resort lobbies. Please touch “0” for the Resort Operator.

Visually–Impaired Guests

If you are in a suite and aware of a fire emergency, wait for instructions over the public address system, or contact the Resort Operator. If you are in a public area, wait for instructions over the public address system. If an evacuation is necessary, contact the Resort Operator for instructions and assistance.

Wheelchair Guests

If you are in a suite and aware of a fire emergency, wait for instructions over the public address system. In the event of an evacuation, proceed to the emergency exit. Again, check doors for heat and corridors for smoke. If the door is hot, or if there is heavy smoke in the hallway, stay in your suite. If there is heavy smoke in the stairwell, either return to your suite or proceed to one of the other exits on your floor. If the emergency exit is safe, proceed to the stairwell landing and remain calm. Be careful not to block exit doors. Security will then respond and assist you.
