Dear Olympian Parent, Here we go again, the start of another school year! We are so excited about Olympians this year and can’t wait to see how God will work in the lives of the children, leaders and the families. We hope the information you receive tonight will be helpful. Our goal is to give you the information you need to assist your child in the Olympian program.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -How to use your child’s Olympian Quiet Time… Tonight, your child may have received his or her own Personal Quiet Time book to take home and use for a daily quiet time. The book is divided into weeks and your child should start on week 2. There is a calendar towards the back in case you are ever unsure of the week your child is on. Each day, your child should do that day’s quiet time, fill in any prayer requests, praises or answered prayers in the front, and work on the memory verses in the back pocket of the book. PT (Personal Training) leaders will place any flyers they receive in the back pocket of the books. Some of you may be asking, “How can I help my child?” The main way would be to encourage your child to do his or her quiet time. It may be wise to read the Scripture with your child, make sure your child understands the Scripture and help him or her fill in the book. Each quiet time usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Our goal is not to frustrate our children or make this feel like homework, but to encourage them to have an intimate walk with the Lord.

-How can my child achieve Membership and Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels? We have had many parents ask this question, so I have attached two papers to this information sheet. The first tells you what your child must do to achieve membership and the other breaks down the requirements for each level. Please give your child’s PT leader a call if you have any questions.

-What are Christian Service Projects? From time-to-time your child will be bringing home a Christian Service Project paper. . We would like to give your child more opportunities to serve and to complete the required number of service projects for his or her grade level. We are excited to teach our kids the different ways we can serve Christ not only within the body, but also the community.

What is Membership Night? By this night of club we are encouraging youth to make membership (see attached flyer on membership). This is not a requirement but simply a goal for 4 weeks of club. It’s like a birthday party for those who make membership; everyone is invited! October 7 club night.

What is Roof-Raisin’ Ruckus? A one-day, high-energy event with music to get yer toes a-tappin’, games and hands-on activities to get yer feet-and mind- a-movin’, and a lunch to stop yer stomack from a growlin’! Not to mention one-on-one time with University students! Ya’ll can learn somethin’ from them! This year, we’re throwin a “Roof-Raisin’ Ruckus” as we tell ya how to show forgiveness and kindness to the folk in yer life. Cedarville University, Cedarville OH October 10. $25 per youth 3-6 grade only. Transportation and supervision provided by Bethel.

What is Harvest Party? Harvest Party night is a special club night. Instead of our typical rotation and activities, we make it like an indoor/outdoor harvest festival. Games, food, excitement and bonfires! We

do not encourage youth to come dressed up but they will be given different treat’s and snacks. The most important thing we give away this night is a clear presentation of Jesus Christ and His work for us to have a relationship with Him, so invite your friends.

What is Treasure Tea Party? This is for girls 4-6 grade. These ladies are cordially invited to a precious tea party. Ladies will learn the true meaning of being a precious lady created by God, understanding what it means to be treated like precious China and not like Tupperware. November 15.

What is Christmas Party? This is another special club night when we do things a little different. This night emphasis will be on Jesus Christ and the Christmas season. We will travel from the church to Brethren Care and sing Christmas Carols to senior saints. It’s our way of demonstrating the real reason for the season.

-What is February Funtastic? February Funtastic is the second evangelistic outreach event that we participate in. It is put on by our Word of Life Missionaries, Steve & Sue Oswald. They plan a jam-packed fun-filled day for the kids with 3 hours of fames in the CSU Soccer Dome and then on to an action-packed CSU Basketball game where they will get a hot dog, chips and a soda. They will play on the many inflatables, get their face painted, and choose balloon art. We encourage the kids to invite unchurched friends as the Gospel will be presented. This year, it will be held on Saturday, February 27.

-What is Fascar? Fascar is an event your child will not want to miss. Fascar is one of the two evangelistic outreaches we do throughout the year. We will encourage the kids to invite an un-churched friend to this event as the Gospel will be preached. Not only is this a great opportunity to share Christ with the lost, but it is also tons of fun! More info will be provided later in the year. March 27

Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of this program. We can’t wait to see the great things God has in store for us this year. Awesome things can happen when we get in the Word and strive to be more like Christ. We not only encourage you to help your child do this, but we encourage YOU to do it as well!
