2016 NMOA State Clinic – Saturday, July 16, 2016 “The Start of Something New”

Date:

May 19, 2016

The 2016 State Clinic of the New Mexico Officials Association will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Marriott Pyramid Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are excited to announce that the 2016 State Clinic will be the final clinic in its current classroom-only format. Because of the changes on the horizon for the NMOA, we have given this year’s clinic the theme, “The Start of Something New” to celebrate the next chapter of the Association. Beginning in the summer of 2017, state clinics will be held more in the concept of a forum and will include classroom instruction as well as hands-on training, with multiple breakouts per sport. More information will be forthcoming in the next several months. This year’s All-Star line-up of speakers includes: Baseball & Football – Mark Uyl, Michigan Basketball – Scott Twardoski, Washington Softball – Scott Sparks, Colorado Spirit – Leo Jaramillo, New Mexico & Keith Smith, New Jersey Volleyball – Joan Powell, Colorado Luncheon, Awards Ceremony & Hall of Fame Induction Keynote Speaker – Scott Twardoski, NBA Referee Session Notes: · Track and field will have their state clinic in conjunction with the New Mexico Track and Cross Country Coaches Association clinic in January. Information about that clinic will be sent out in the late fall/early winter. If you register for another sport at the July clinic, you may also attend the track clinic in January. · As has been the case the past two years, wrestling will not be offered at this year’s state clinic, as we will be hosting a combined coaches’ and officials’ clinic in October 2016. More details will be sent out about the wrestling clinic in late summer/early fall. If you register for this clinic in another sport, you can also attend the wrestling clinic in October. · Soccer and swimming will also not have a session at the state clinic. Enclosed is a variety of materials relative to the event, including the clinic pre-registration form. The registration fee for attendance is $50 for pre-registration, regardless of the number of sports you attend or $60 for late or on-site registration. The fee includes a ticket to the Saturday afternoon banquet. The deadline for pre-registration is Tuesday, July 5, 2016. If you have questions or if we can be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact us via phone or email at: Dana Pappas – [email protected] Jeremy Hernandez - [email protected] (505) 923-3277 (505) 923-3286 Enclosures:
