If the only prayer you say is “Thank You” it is enough. ~ Meister Eckart ~

Thank you. Just two simple words yet they can convey the deepest feelings of our hearts. We teach our children to say „Thank You‟ as some of their very earliest words. No matter how easy or hard, how good or bad, how many struggles or delights we might happen to think life holds for us right now, we can always find something to be grateful for. Wise teachers tell us that we should not wait to be happy in order to be grateful, for it is when we are grateful that we know happiness. Gratitude breeds contentment. Gratitude opens our hearts to see all the abundance that is already present in our lives. Gratitude gives us eyes to see beauty and wonder right in front of us! Gratitude helps us notice those who need a friend so that we can offer a hug, a shoulder to lean upon, a couple of extra ears to listen, or perhaps even a couple of hands to help. Gratitude lowers our blood pressure and helps us to sleep at night. Gratitude awakens joy in our hearts at the start of a new day. Gratitude tills the soil of our souls and brings forth love, compassion and forgiveness. How wise it is to nurture Gratitude in our life. How necessary it is to whisper prayers of Gratitude each and every day! Here at The Center would like to say “Thank You!” to everyone who walks through our doors...you are the reason we exist. We would like to say Thank you to everyone who has ever volunteered here: be it one hour or a gazillion hours… you are the reason we can do what we do. We want to say Thank You to the Holy One for this amazing opportunity to be a house on the side of the road, to be a friend to all in need, to be an instrument in the service of Love… Thank You everyone! Thank you God! Peace and Blessings.....

Fellowship Corner: NETTIE BOTTS The Center has been a part of my life for over sixty years. When I sang at the chapel vesper service we had to climb a ladder to get to the organ loft. My future husband came with me. Even before we were engaged, my husband would drive me to and from the chapel to sing. My husband proposed to me one day after a Sunday vesper service. The gift shop was a special place where Elizabeth Sanders and other ladies worked on the old looms, making placemats to sell. This was the beginning of a lifelong interest in weaving. I think Paul and Elizabeth would be happy to look around The Center now, so many of their dreams have come true. Frank and Dave have done such a good job of upholding that dream. I have loved teaching the weaving classes and being a part of this unique place. Nettie, Your story is a part of The Center’s story. Your kindness, patience and knowledge is inspiring. We love you! ~ The Center Staff
