good enough to put in the "Clinker Breaker", so if you h a v e one you want to put in it, send it to Jerry Grice, P.O. Box 5914, Tallahassee, FL 32314. Black L White pictures come out best, but w e c a n do color also. We have finally qotten to where we can copy pictures

Prescription didium lens glasses are available from Optical Shop, 6717 N.W. 11th Place, Gainesville, FL 32605. Cost is about S45 for single vision and $110 for bifocals. Telephone number is (904) 373-1933. Didium lens greatly reduce glare from fire and block ultra-violet rays.

NORTHEAST AREA NEWS - September 1987 Two exciting devrlopments greeted seventeen members (one from Tampa) Satur'day September 5 at Barberville. The most obvious was the completed foundation for the Blacksmith50' building is coming along Wheelwright Shop. The 24' x surprisingly fast. The other development wasn't so obvious but I got a peek inside the museum building, equally significant. and even in the dark it was impressive. There were enough quality tools to make the museum a reality. Blacksmith, Farriers, and Wheelwright tools are to be featured. Both of these developments are the result of a lot of planning and hard work and generosity of certain members and the Barberville Settlement for the Arts people. Folks until you can I hope a qreat big be properly r-ecognized individually, collective "Thanks" will s c ~ f f i c e . Brent V a n Arnaln has beer1 using a lot o f I ~ i sf r e e t i m e this y e a r to pr-omate Blacksmithing in the Gainesville, FL area. In March, Upril, and May he reached a lot o f people at the F1. State State Park, and The Morningside Museum, The Paines Prairie Nature Center. Brent uses charcoal at these demonstrations. It is a lot cleaner for him and the public. Keep o n keeping o n Brent. The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse south o f Daytona Beach is having a centennial celebration (1887-1987) during the last two weeks of October. Member Blacksmiths are par-ticipating. Drop By!! Doug Rochon conducted a short business meetinq after lunch. The.shop & museum were discussed and plans for the Lighthouse demonstrations were made. Doug instigated a "Ruck in the Bucket" drawing for donated items. This will be a regular feature. T h e proceeds will be used to beyin to repay the Settlement for t h e Arts, for their generosity.
