Hello and thank you for your interest in the Hypnotherapy Diploma course run by The Advanced Hypnotherapy Academy.

2 I’m Andrew and I am the Principal and Trainer of the Advanced Hypnotherapy Academy. I’ve been an Advanced Hypnotherapist now since 2007 and been teaching the diploma course over the past 5 years. I continue to practice as a full time hypnotherapist in Cheshire and Staffordshire and I’m passionate about hypnotherapy and helping people, whether in a therapy session or teaching the self-hypnosis workshops, right up to teaching the diploma courses to new students.

Welcome to our Academy The purpose of this prospectus is to answer some of your questions regarding hypnotherapy training, and to outline for you how our course can train you to practice as a qualified professional hypnotherapist. During the past few years people have shown an increasing interest in hypnotherapy and are realising that it can bring about beneficial changes – quickly, safely and permanently. More and more the general public and the medical profession in particular, are turning to ethical hypnotherapists for help in bringing about positive changes in both mind and body in a minimum of time. They are also recognising that the concept of mind and body interacting with each other, either negatively or positively is an accurate one. In this prospectus we have set out to answer the most common questions that people ask about our course. We hope that this information is of interest to you and may help you decide that this course is the right one for you. The course is of the highest quality in the UK and once qualified, you will already be more advance in your knowledge and skillset than most practicing hypnotherapists out there.

What are the Aims and Objectives of the Academy? We aim to keep the course small and look to fill 6 places for each diploma. This allows a lower turnover of high calibre students. On occasions Andrew will also teach the diploma on a one to one level and you can enquire about this if you have either miss the start of the diploma course, or are unable to make the required dates.

Our main concern is to raise the standards of hypnotherapy for the good of the clients and therapists alike. We believe in teaching hypnotherapy in a usable and dynamic form and giving students the necessary skills to operate a successful practice. During the training programme we aim to ensure that professional standards prevail, whilst at the same time placing emphasis on providing a happy and relaxed atmosphere in order to maximise the learning process for our students. As in every skill, it is important that the practitioner is master of their craft. We regard hypnosis as the ‘tool’ for therapy and it is vital that the therapist has a ‘toolbox’ of varied techniques in order to provide flexibility and the best therapy for the clients. Additionally we ourselves are committed to keep up to date in the latest techniques in hypnotherapy so that we can pass these on to our students and clients. And finally, we aim to train our students in the most elegant and effective methods possible for helping their clients to alleviate suffering and achieve their fullest potential.

What is special about our course? As this is a ‘hands-on’ course, the emphasis is very much on practical training and our students see the various techniques and methods demonstrated with volunteer class members. Students then work in pairs or small groups to practice and experience those techniques. Different aspects of the therapy itself are further demonstrated with volunteer clients from outside the course. This enables our students to see how the techniques work in practice. We are one of the only courses to teach ‘Hypno-Healing’ – a specialised technique which deals with healing the physical problems, devised by the founder of The Atkinson-Ball College in the 1960’s, who also teaches this technique. The class size is limited in number in order to allow for individual attention and maximum supervision. One to one training can be arranged and this is at the discretion of the trainer at The Advanced Hypnotherapy Academy.

Learning to make a difference… In the current climate of healthy alternative medicine, hypnotherapy has become more widely acknowledged both in the NHS and by individuals seeking professional help. The requirements for the Advanced Course are as follows. - You have a diploma in Hypnotherapy - You have a medical qualification - You have a diploma in NLP - You have a diploma in Counselling - You have a degree in Psychology

If not, we are pleased to say that we can offer a specifically designed AHAFoundation Course for newcomers to the field. This can be taken via distant learning online modules either prior to the diploma course or alongside the diploma.

Module 1 - The History and background information of Hypnosis. Module 2 - What is Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy- the signs of hypnosis? Module 3 - The Various techniques of Hypnotherapy and how it’s used. Module 4 – The Workings of the Subconscious Mind Module 5 – Examples of Hypnotherapy; case studies. Module 6 - What Makes a Successful, Professional Hypnotherapist?

Each one of these modules requires a certain amount of study by you, and written homework, but we do not think you will find this unduly onerous. As this Foundation Course is intended only for people who intend to carry on to the Advanced Course, we are keeping the price as low as possible, at £200 at the present time. And at the moment this is included in the full price of the diploma course running in 2016/17 only.

5 As this is a home study course it can be started at any time, and you can take as long as you need to finish it. It all depends on your time and your commitment. As we receive each completed module from you, then that is marked and the next one is posted or emailed to you within a few days. We would point out that this Foundation Course does not qualify you as a practicing Hypnotherapist, but it does give you the theory and background knowledge to enable you to participate in our Advanced Course. Our Academy specialises in Advanced Hypnotherapy training for existing Therapists and Medical Practitioners.

Will I Receive a Diploma on Completion of the Course? We believe that any worthwhile qualification has to be earned, so providing you have attended each module of the course, completed both the written and practical assessments and passed the written examination, then you will be awarded your Diploma by the Advanced Hypnotherapy Academy.

What kind of Practical help can I expect? Printed notes are issued in sections as the course progresses through each module. The comprehensive training includes valuable advice on how to set up a successful practice, with continued support once qualified. Students are advised on the use of equipment, record-keeping, marketing, advertising and insurance. The final module of the course is devoted to ensuring that all relevant professional information is offered to students to ensure that they have full knowledge of business matters related to their work as hypnotherapists.

The modules are currently held in Upper Hulme in the beautiful Staffordshire moorlands. The training is in 8 parts over a period of 6 months, and the emphasis is
