The Department: Central Personnel are responsible for developing objectives, policies and practices in respect of recruitment, employment, training and employee development on a company wide basis. The Role: To manage the recruitment of approximately 100 undergraduates, promoting the scheme, running the assessment centres, managing the yearlong programme and planning/implementing the arrival of the new undergraduate intake. Plan the recruitment strategy for Undergraduates. This includes; targeting universities, analysing and reviewing previous recruitment strategies and developing the marketing ideology. Promote placement scheme to students at universities through presentations & other appropriate methods. Liaise with service providers regarding the undergraduate on-line selection process. Monitor and process applications through our application database. Organise and run final selection stage for all undergraduate recruitment. Develop and facilitate Open Days and the Induction programme for new undergraduates. Review training plans and assist with the development of core and elective training course programmes for future undergraduate programmes. Assist with student relocation/housing, re-bills and accounts enquiries. Project manage an Undergraduate Community Project with a small team of undergraduates across functions. The student will gain an understanding of the Human Resource Management process with particular focus in recruitment and development. There is also the opportunity for short term involvement in other HR related projects.

Required Skills: Excellent planning and organisational skills is essential. Effective communication skills are required as there is a need to develop relationships with university personnel, recruiting managers and other company personnel. This individual must be customer focused, selfmotivated and have an excellent level of computer literacy. A full driving licence is essential and long distance journeys are undertaken. The Department: Central Personnel are responsible for developing objectives and policies in respect of employment, training and employee development etc on a company wide basis. It co-ordinates and directs company trade union negotiations at a national level. Support is provided to Corporate HQ on all Personnel related matters. The Role: Within the Global Business Function (GBS) providing support to the Compensation & Benefits Manager. Duties include involvement in planning and implementing all merit pay awards and variable pay plans, salary sacrifice schemes, employee benefit plans, benchmarking surveys and other short and long term Compensation and Benefit related projects. Assisting with the planning and implementing of salaried and executive pay awards and variable pay plans including supporting the development of planning schedules and guidelines, handling of planning documents and subsequent implementation, reporting and analysis. Day-to-day running of all Salary Sacrifice Schemes i.e. Child Care Vouchers, with query handling, reconciliation, promotion and planning of new initiatives. Assisting with the operation, promotion and review of Company Directors Medical Insurance, Health Screening and Healthcare Cash Plans. Collation and preparing P11D information for submission to Finance. Co-ordination and implementation of Flu Vaccination Programme for GM UK and Ireland. Responsible for input of payroll transactions for monthly payroll Liaison with the European People Services Centre, Employees and Line Managers to provide solutions to adhoc comp & bens queries. Assist with the development of the Undergraduate programme. Raise awareness and work with Unit Managers to identify future opportunities for placements. Prepare job specifications and liaise with GMUK HR. You will also be supporting managers with assessment centres for the undergraduate’s role. You will be responsible for all HR activities for the Quality department. This department has around 70 hourly and salaried employees and you will cover all HR aspects from absence, disciplinary & grievances, performance management and recruitment. Training administration, including management of Training Centre room booking database and issue of certificates and licenses as required, scheduling training courses for plant and assisting with Plant Annual Training Plan submissions and development of content. You will act as a Workplace of Choice champion and be involved with activities to improve engagement and commitment amongst the work force. Monitoring the Plant Long Term absence list and dealing with Statutory Sick Pay and Company Sickness Benefits issue. Compilation of data monitoring for the Plant for BPD and HRM Meetings.
