LET’S GET STARTED!

Introduction You’ve got your Partner Program set up and you are pulling in referrals from all the hard work your Partners have done. The time has come to pay them! However, beyond paying them base commission, you want to make sure you keep them engaged in your business so they’ll keep promoting your products! This guide will take you step-by-step through the three essential steps to start selling online with ONTRAPORT.

STEP 1

How to Pay your Partners Your Partners have worked hard to promote your product and pull in leads! Seeing to it that your Partners are compensated in their efforts while staying on top of your ONTRAPORT reporting will ensure your Partners are happy and keep bringing in the leads. ONTRAPORT does not actually pay your clients from within the account. We are the resource to make it easy to keep track of Partner commissions and pull out your list of Partners that need to be paid. Let’s get started on the three different sections to paying your Partners!

In the Navigation Bar, select Partners > Commissions.

You will see three Commission Settings.

Pending Commissions The Pending Commissions area is where you will review all commissions your Partners have earned and verify that they are indeed valid payments. When you’ve finished reviewing commissions, check the box next to your Partner’s name and perform one of the following actions: 1.

Approve Commission

Cancel Commission

Send Email

Un-Approve Commission

Export Commissions

Pending Payments The Pending Payments area is where you’ll go to export your Partners in order to pay them as well as report that the payment has been made. Once you’ve exported your data, check the box next to your Partner’s name and click Pay Partner. Here is a little more information on which export you should use: 1.

Download PayPal CSV - If you chose to pay your Partners via PayPal, this is the export you will use as it is easily imported into PayPal.

Export Partners - If you chose to pay your Partners via Check, this is the export you will want to use.

Commission History Once you’ve approved and paid the Partner, the data will appear in the Commission History section. The same actions can be performed from the Pending Commissions area:

STEP 2

Notify Partners of New Promo Tools As you release new Sales Funnels and special deals, you’ll need to create and deliver new Partner Links to your Partners so that they have the best resources available to bring in more leads!

STEP 2a

Create your Partner Group Groups in ONTRAPORT are “saved searches” rather than your standard list. This allows you to create specific criteria, such as Contacts in California, and ONTRAPORT automatically searches all your contacts and pulls in the matches! You can create a Group based on any stored Contact data in your ONTRAPORT account. In this instance though, we only need to filter out the Partners.

Navigate to the Contacts home screen.

Name the Group something like “Partners.” Then select the criteria Partner Program > Equal to > [Your Program].

In the ‘Group: All’ dropdown, click CREATE NEW.

STEP 2b

Sending your new Promo Tool to your Partners Now that all your Partners are filtered out of your main list, it’s time to send your new Promo Tool to their inbox!

In your Contacts Collection,

In the action box click “Select

STEP 3

Set up Milestone Emails to Congratulate your Partners Your Partners are not only earning themselves some extra income, but pulling in lots of leads and additional money for you! It’s always nice to feel appreciated for the work you’ve done. A great way to show your gratitude and appreciation for your Partners is by writing some Milestone emails.

STEP 3a

Creating your Milestone Emails ONTRAPORT is all about simplicity while also providing features for customization. With this in mind, there are two resources we have available for creating emails. ONTRAmail is our template version that gives you premade, beautiful outlines to start formatting your emails around. If you have a designer and your own style, not to worry! We have our standard email builder where you can code and build from scratch. We will go over these options here and the different options you have for creating a more appealing offer to these abandoned customers.

You can switch to and from the standard view and html view of an email while you’re creating it and perform a number of functions using the buttons in the dashboard. STEP 3b

Creating your Milestone Rules For this funnel, we’ll be utilizing Global Rules. A Global Rule is an ‘if-then’ action that can be triggered by any action performed by you or your Contacts. This means as soon as your Partner hits his/her Milestone, this rule will fire. ONTRAPORT loves Rules, and you should too! Rules are one of the backbone features that make your account run automatically while you focus on more important things!

Let’s wrap this up!

1.

In the Navigation Bar, select

Click the New Rule button.

Contacts > Rules.

Name your Rule something like “5 Sale Milestone.” Create a rule with the criteria: a.

Under WHEN THIS HAPPENS you will add the condition “Field is updated.” Then chose the field “Number of Sales.”

b.

Under IF THIS IS TRUE you will add the condition “Field is this value.” Then chose the field “Number of Sales.” Then enter the criteria “Equal to 5.”

c.

Under THEN DO THIS you will add the condition “Send an Email.” Then select your 5 Sale Milestone Email.

4.

Repeat steps for 10 and 15 Sale Milestones.
