New Hou-Tex Officers 2013 Treasurer 2013 My name is Wendy Wilkins and I will be working with you as your Treasurer for 2013. My goal for the coming year is provide our sponsoring dealer, fellow officers and chapter members with an up-to-date accurate accounting of our chapter’s financial picture at any given time. My door will always be open should you have any questions with respect to chapter finances. On a personal note, I bought a new tricked out Nightster in 2008 but did not start riding seriously until I joined Hou-Tex early in 2011. After riding the Nightster 4,000+ miles I upgraded to a shiny red 2012 Softail Slim jokingly referred to by fellow riders as my big girl bike. With recently installed new Vance & Hines big radius pipes and a Mustang seat the Slim and I enjoy the open road every chance we get. There truly is nothing like feeling the wind in your face and the power of a Harley under your behind! I look forward to working with all current chapter members, making new Hou-Tex friends and to some totally awesome rides during the coming year.

See you on the road! Wendy Wilkins

Assistant Director 2013 I am Juan Gonzalez and I’ve been riding since I was fourteen. Back then I couldn’t afford to buy a bike that was running so I had to buy non running bikes and either make them run or piece a bike together out of junk. I currently ride a 2012 Road Glide Ultra and a 2010 Rocker. I was a Volunteer Fireman for Deer Park for several years, in addition to being the City’s first Paramedic. I have since retired from that service - burn out. During the same time period I also volunteered for Special Olympics for a few years all while raising a family. I still enjoy doing a variety of charity rides that benefit those less fortunate. When I was asked to take on the responsibility of Assistant Director I thought long and hard about what I felt I could bring to the chapter and what chapter members might expect of me. My decision to accept was not one that I made without serious consideration. I’m looking forward to working with everyone during the coming year, both current and new members alike. If you have an idea that you believe might help to improve the club, by all means let me know. Maybe we can turn your good idea into a great idea.

New Hou-Tex Officers 2013 Secretary 2013 Mike and I joined Hou-Tex in 2003. We had ridden by ourselves and then saw a slew of motorcycles and wondered how to get into a club riding group. So we visited a few and stopped at Stubb’s and one day decided to join that ride. From there, Hou-Tex became our riding family. In the last quarter of 2003, the Editor was stepping down and moving. At a meeting they asked if anyone would like to volunteer as the Editor. I volunteered and was the Editor for the full year of 2004. In 2005, Glenda Mitchell took over the reigns of being the Editor and I volunteered for the position of Secretary. I was the Hou-Tex Secretary from 2005-2006. Then I took a break until, 2010 where I served as the Assistant Director and Editor. Serving as an Officer for me is an honor and a privilege. I love riding to different places. I enjoy meeting new people and forging new friendships. Most of all, I enjoy the meetings because this is where I get to see and be with the friends that I have made over the years, especially since this is the only time I get to see a lot of them.

I look forward to 2013 as your Secretary. Dagmar Reilly

Ladies Of Harley 2013 My name is Elizabeth Leal. I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I’m a certified sign language interpreter. I had my first 883 sportster in 2000, for less then a year. In March 2008, I went into Stubbs to browse not even thinking about buying and rode out with a 2008 1200 Nightster. Two months went on with me riding alone and it started to get lonely. So, someone told me about the Hou-Tex Chapter and I walked into the June 2008 meeting. I walked in meeting strangers but since then the strangers I’ve met have become family to me. I have enjoyed being a Hou-Tex member. I am very pleased to be your 2013 LOH officer. My goal is to get more women involved; we don’t want anyone to feel left out. I am here for you-all and always open for suggestions to support our club and its members. So feel free to come to a LOH meeting with your ideas, the 2 nd Thursday of each month.

Liz Leal
