Sweet 16!

The Hopewell Township Recreation Department has reached the sweet age of 16 this year! Because of your continued support and participation in all of the programs, camps, leagues, and activities we have offered over the years, our program guide has grown from a 6 page hand-out to the 16 page booklet you are seeing today. Sweet! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the department’s new Program Assistant, Kimberly Poole. Kimberly and her family live in Hopewell Borough and her two sons attend school in the Hopewell Valley District. She has quickly become an asset to the Recreation Department and is assisting many of you with registrations, answering your questions, and helping in the planning of this summer’s Teen Travel Camp. Kimberly is in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm so if you get a chance, stop by and say hello! The Recreation Department continues to provide a great variety of programs and services to our residents. Take a look at these 16 sweet reasons to participate! 1. Summer sport camps for youth include Baseball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Skateboarding, Multi-sport, and Tennis! 2. The new Junior Travel Camp for students entering 6th grade celebrates year #2! 3. No planning on your part, all the work is done….you can just relax and enjoy yourselves! 7. Over the years, we have been to over 30 different Broadway shows! We try to schedule at least two trips to Broadway each year and are never disappointed! 8. The annual Community Concert, Classic Car Show & Fireworks Event is scheduled for Friday, July 8th at Alliger Park! 9. Teen Travel Camp is also Sweet 16! Our teens will be traveling to some great destinations that include beaches, water parks, theme parks, outdoor adventures, and an overnight trip to the Sweetest Place on Earth; Hershey Park! 10. Senior Birthday Breakfasts are held semi-annually to celebrate our outstanding seniors and all of their accomplishments! 11. The Twin Pines turf field continues to provide an outstanding facility for many youth sport organizations and recreation programs including soccer, lacrosse, field hockey & football! 12.
