Module-Specific Screens Employee Self Service in our district utilizes the four applications highlighted below. Each of these pages will be examined individually. On some pages, principals or supervisors may have the option to view information for their employees or staff members.
Personal Information Personal Information has both a main page and a sub-screen entitled Employee Profile. Information on the main page includes contact, dependant and emergency information. In this example, the user has the ability to update this information by selecting “Change”, “Add” or “Delete” to make changes. Note these changes do NOT change your insurance or PERS records.

Pay/Tax Information This page contains the Payroll information and history found in the MUNIS program Employee Pay History. ESS users can not modify any data in the Pay/Tax Information area. The main page displays payment history records, defaulting to the current school year. You can choose prior years in the drop down menu back to July 2006 when the Munis system was first implemented.
By clicking on the View Details link, Pay Stub information for the specified check may be displayed. Common deduction codes and abbreviations are listed on the last page of this guide.

The first sub-screen, Year-to-Date (YTD) Information, offers a cumulative view of Payroll figures for the selected year.
The W-2 sub-screen displays information regarding Federal and State taxes and withholdings.

The W-4 (Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate) sub-screen displays information about the user’s W-4. This form determines how much you have deducted from your pay check for state and federal income taxes.
Time Off The Time Off page allows a user to view accrual information for all categories of leave: personal, professional, sick, military, FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), and Jury Duty. The main Time Off page displays the accrual information for the user.

Benefits HCSD first used the Benefits feature for the 2008 United Way Campaign. In the future, the Benefits screen of Employee Self Service will give an employee access to: 1. View and change (if eligible) current year benefits elections. 2. Make elections for the upcoming year during the Open Enrollment Period in October. 3. Participate in the annual United Way Campaign which runs January-December. 4. Petition to change current year elections with a qualifying Life Event.
