FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION The High Capacity motor has a rated speed of 3120 rpm at the rated torque of 80 oz. in. Through the use of a 4.8:1 gear ratio of the planetary gearhead the speed becomes 650 rpm and the torque increases to 300 oz. in. The motor cable has an environmental connector that is keyed and mates with the controller cable. The motor cable has different pinouts for 115V or 230V, this protects the motor from being electrically connected to the wrong controller. The cap on the back of the motor is water tight and protects the motor and speed encoder from getting wet during washdown operations. The front motor mounting plate holds a tang drive/short shaft pumphead or a 3 GPM Easyload Pumphead.

TROUBLESHOOTING The following is a list of possible problems and remedies. Where possible, swap in known good parts to localize and isolate the problem. Determine if problem is the controller or the motor assy. If the controller is defective see the service manual for the 7591-60, 65, 70 and 75 (A-1299-369).

MOTOR DOESN'T RUN (controller assumed to be good.) -

motor cable bad - replace motor cable motor brushes bad - replace motor brushes motor failure - return to factory verify motor is connected to the proper controller verify motor is connected to the proper terminal strip connections. (NEMA only)

For operating instructions or further information regarding the 7591 series controllers refer to the following: A-1299-346 Operator's Manual

DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE CAUTION ! Prior to disassembling or assembling the controller, make sure the unit is unplugged from the AC line. Refer to the motor assy. drawing on the previous page if necessary. TO REPLACE THE MOTOR CABLE ASSY: 1. Remove the nut on the back of the cap that holds the motor cable. 2. Remove the 2 screws that hold the cap to the motor. 3. Disconnect the motor cable wires from the motor. 4. Replace the defective motor cable. 5. Verify the motor cable wires are connected to the proper motor wires. (Red to Red, Black to Black) 6. To reassemble the motor assy. reverse the above procedures.

GEARHEAD REPLACEMENT: 1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above. 2. Remove wire shield and spacers from the back of the motor. 3. Remove the 5 screws holding the front mounting plate to the motor and the 2 back screws holding the motor stand to the motor. 4. Remove gearhead, inspect all "O" rings and gasket. 5. Replace defective motor or gearhead. 6. To reassemble the motor reverse the above procedures.

FINAL FUNCTIONAL TEST AFTER REPAIR Test equipment required: a. Hand-tac b. 7591-60 controller to test a 7591-50 motor c. 7591-65 controller to test a 7591-55 motor

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Verify gasket and all "O" rings are present and all screws are tight and secure. Connect the motor to the appropriate controller. Connect the controller to the appropriate power source. Set the direction switch to the forward position and the speed control knob to full CW. Verify motor is running C.C.W. when viewed from the front. Verify with a hand-tac that the motor is running at 650 rpm ±5 rpm (If motor speed is off by more than 5 rpm verify controller calibration). 7. Set the direction switch to reverse. 8. Verify that the motor speed is 650 rpm ±5 rpm. 9. Turn controller OFF. TEST COMPLETE
