Founded in the state of Virginia, USA in 1994, AG specializes in Cultural Advisery, architectural & interior design of sovereign buildings, hotels and corporate offices.

With a track record both in the U.S and the United Kingdom, A|G opened its Saudi office in 2001. Ever since, the firm has been involved in a wide range of projects to include the interior design of embassies and ambassador residences for the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as design and cultural advisory on mega projects in the Gulf. With the success of its Saudi office, A|G opened its offices in Bahrain in 2008 to cater to the growing design demands in the region.

As decades pass by our region is gradually losing its identity. Culture, tradition and religion are vital ingredients in the makeup of our societies. They govern everyday life and are the basis for both private and public life. These vital ingredients have been neglected and overlooked in the efforts of modernization where design solutions are alien to their environment. We are from the region and understand these ingredients. We strive to develop intellectual concepts and achieve relevant design solutions. These are neither a recreation of the past, nor cut and paste schemes frequently witnessed in the Gulf. founders biography sonia Ashour Sonia Ashour has a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior Architecture from King Faisal University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and a Masters of Fine Arts degree in International Hospitality design from Virginia Commonwealth University of Richmond, Virginia. Since 2001 she has been the Founder and Principal of A|G interior design consultants. Her firm handles high profile projects focusing on developing relevant design solutions through the means of reinterpreting cultural heritage into a contemporary context. Ms. Ashour is passionate about where she comes from and speaks on the subject of “Cultural Identity” at many conferences and acts as a design and cultural advisor on many mega projects in the Gulf. Ashour also plays an active role in the field of academia. She teaches on a volunteer basis at several Gulf based universities and she provides a full summer training program for young designers in the region.
