Name of Organization/Service Healthy Bulldogs Mission Statement Our vision is to educate the youth of today in creating healthy lifestyles that will impact the choices of tomorrow Philosophy Our philosophy is to provide children with a safe and fun learning environment. We believe that promoting an active and nutritious lifestyle at a young age will empower children to form lifelong healthy habits. Healthy Bulldogs aims to teach children the benefits of creating a wellbalanced diet and encourages respectful interactions through team building and fun exercise activities. Organizational Goals 1. Provide elementary students with the opportunity to improve overall fitness and nutrition. 2. Build mentorship between college students at Ferris State University and Elementary students at a local school. 3. Encourage students to gain skills in leadership, team building, and healthy decision making. Organizational Objectives (SMART)

1. Goal 1: To provide an after school program for 3rd5th graders every Tuesday from 3:30 pm 5:00pm during the academic calendar year. The program will allow students to participate in fun, physical activities and educational demonstrations on healthy, kid friendly snack preparation. 2. Goal 2: To provide an opportunity for Ferris State Nursing students to learn how to educate and build relationships by mentoring elementary students by the end of the elementary school year. 3. Goal 3: To promote positive interactions between elementary peers by modeling actions of leadership, promoting team building, and educating on healthier lifestyle choices by the end of the academic year. Job Descriptions President: Responsible for ensuring the vision of the organization is met by collaborating with board members and providing inspirational leadership. Vice President: Responsible for overseeing the overall facilitation of programs to ensure that the outlined goals and outcomes are being met. Secretary: Responsible for managing any and all documentation and obtaining and distributing copies of meeting minutes upon request. Treasurer: Responsible for the financial management of the organization and oversees all aspects of the budget to meet financial needs. Fundraising: Responsible for organizing and managing fundraising events throughout the community and university. In control of all marketing and advertising for the organization. Activity Coordinator: Responsible for planning and organizing indoor and/or outdoor physical/recreational activities for the students. Education or physical education majors preferred. Nutrition Coordinator: Responsible for planning and organizing nutritional snacks to provide during the afterschool program, nutrition/ dietitian majors preferred for this position. Activity Leaders: Ferris State students that work with the elementary students on healthy exercises while supervising to ensure the protection and safety of all participants.
