Multiple aspects of our health system are in a state of flux e.g. role of government, healthcare coverage, payment models, source of funds etc. Aarogya Bharat 2025 envisioned “A healthy India, where citizens are health-conscious and engaged and have equitable access to affordable health coverage with a focus on prevention, early diagnosis and assured minimum quality of care, offered by a vibrant ecosystem of public and private players operating in a sustainable healthcare system.” This is neither guaranteed nor automatic. It will be an outcome of conscious choice.

Mr. Len de Jong Mr. Sushobhan Dasgupta Mr. Rahul Khosla Dr. Arvind Lal Mr. Milan Rao Mr. Swami Swaminathan Dr. Sudhir Naik Dr. Shuchin Bajaj

A year since we first discussed this, this session will be focused on the near term initiatives that the private sector and government, as a team, can work on to make it a reality. In doing so, the focus will be on areas of collaboration between different stakeholders.

01.00 pm to 01.45 pm -Networking& Fellowship Lunch 01.45 pm to 03.00 pm -“Aarogya Bharat 2025: The Big Debate”

The Big debate on “Health before Wealth: The path nations take” Hardly any country in the world has become wealthy before becoming healthy. There is lag effect of investment in Healthcare, but there is a high correlation. Is India is a sick nation or a healthy nation or a mix? -Mixed record on MDGs; significant progress on some metrics, lots of ground to cover on others -Along with CDs, India faces a tsunami of NCDs -Health Systems and individuals completely unprepared for dealing with this twin challenge As nation, our struggle will continue unless we change. There needs to be a strong case for higher investment in health – HDI, growth, jobs etc. and the cost of status-quo/ in-action will be unacceptably high.
