Heal your Self, Heal your Horse 4 Day Course with Julie Abrahams This 4 day intensive workshop is 2 courses in 1 and includes Reiki Level 1 (Days 1 & 2) and Equine Reiki Level 1 (Days 3 & 4) - the concept being, before you can learn to heal horses, first you must learn to heal yourself. Heal your Self, Heal your Horse is a very special course that is ideal for all horse lovers who are interested in learning Reiki from a Japanese perspective and who wish to utilise this simple, yet powerful healing technique as a natural approach to improving and maintaining health and wellbeing for both themselves and their horses. This lovely modality can be easily learned and is highly beneficial for assisting both humans and horses, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Participants will learn how to utilise Reiki as a healing support for a wide range of health conditions and behavioural issues in humans and horses as well as being able to reduce the effects of stress and stress related conditions, ease pain, calm fear, improve flexibility and balance, promote deep relaxation and so much more. COURSE OUTLINE Days 1 & 2, Shoden – Reiki level 1 - These first 2 days focus on learning the foundation techniques to the system of Reiki, we will not be working with horses on these days. Times: Day 1 - 9.30am – 5pm, Day 2 - 10am – 5pm Prerequisites There are no prerequisites to learning the system of Reiki. It is a simple system that anyone can learn. The first 2 days of the course teaches the system of Reiki from a Japanese perspective. During the course you will learn the traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho hands-on healing technique to heal yourself and others. Participants will attain Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) certification at the completion of the course. Day 1 and 2, Topics covered in the 2 day Shoden course:      

A brief history of Reiki and its founder, Usui Mikao How to conduct a hands on healing treatment for yourself and others The Reiki Precepts The five fundamental elements of the system of Reiki from a Japanese perspective How to set up a routine of daily self-practise including self-treatment, meditation and contemplation on the precepts Japanese Meditations

During the course you will:    

Experience a Reiki treatment Practise hands on healing treatments Be offered 4 Level 1 Reiki attunements Attain Reiki level 1 Certificate upon completion

COURSE OUTLINE Days 3 & 4, Equine Reiki Level 1 – During this part of the course participants will learn how to apply Reiki treatments to horses Times: 10am – 5pm both days Prerequisites  Students must have attended and successfully completed Reiki Level 1  Students must have at least 12 months experience handling horses to complete this part of the course Day 3 & 4, Topics covered             

Asking permission before you begin a healing treatment for your horse Introducing yourself and letting the horse know what you are offering Setting your intention Offering your horse choice Conducting a safe healing session for your horse Suggested hand positions for treatments Using your intuition Listening to the horse and reading body language Signs your horse is receiving Reiki Knowing when the horse has completed his healing Transference of energy imbalances from you to your horse Meditation techniques for connecting with your horse Health conditions, behavioural and performance issues that can be treated with Reiki

During the course you will:   

Learn how to offer a hands on healing treatment for your horse Practise hands on healing treatments on your horse as well as others Attain Equine Reiki level 1 Certificate upon completion

About Reiki Reiki is a powerful yet gentle hands on healing technique from Japan that offers many benefits. In modern times, Reiki has evolved throughout the western world as an effective system of energetic healing and has been successfully used as a supportive healing technique for a variety of health conditions. Reiki has been more commonly used as a complementary therapy for people, but as more people learn of the benefits of Reiki treatments, they are turning to Reiki as a holistic healing support for their horses, particularly in the area of post competition recovery, stress reduction, pain relief and easing pre competition stress. As with humans, Reiki can be utilised for a variety or health conditions and behavioural issues in horses. Highly strung or stressed horses can benefit greatly from the soothing, calming effects of Reiki by helping them to relax and gain a sense of peace, making it particularly useful for horses who experience fear, aggression or anxiety.

Shinpiden (Master level) Reiki Teacher/practitioner of the Usui Reiki Ryoho system of Reiki, Diploma Equine Energy Therapy, Diploma of Remedial Massage, Diploma of Esoteric Science and Holistic Counselling, Diploma of Dream Psychology, Interpretation and Analysis. Julie Abrahams is a professional Reiki practitioner, a lifelong animal lover and an experienced horsewoman. She is a member of the Australian Reiki Connection Inc and the Association of Australian Reiki Professionals, as well as being a member of Shelter Animals Reiki Association, a volunteer organisation whose members provide Reiki treatments to animals in rescue shelters and sanctuaries throughout the world on a voluntary basis. She is also a full member of The International Institute of Complementary Therapists. Julie has been trained by the International House of Reiki in Sydney and has been dedicated to the practice of Reiki for over 12 years. Based on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Julie combines her experience working with Reiki and animals to specialise in providing Reiki training through her Equine Reiki Courses as well as offering treatments to horses and their human companions, enabling both to experience the amazing benefits that Reiki has to offer.
