◦ This product must be operated on a power source specified on the specification label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply used in your location, consult your dealer or local power company.

◦ The power cords must be routed properly to prevent stepping on them or objects from resting on them. Check the cords at the plugs and product.

◦ Do not overload AC outlets or extension cords. Overloading can cause fire or electric shock. ◦ Never insert an object into the product through vents or openings. High voltage flows in the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.

◦ Do not attempt to service the product yourself. Removing covers can expose you to high voltage and other dangerous conditions. Utilize a qualified electronics service specialist for all repairs.

◦ If any of the following conditions occurs, unplug the power cord from the AC outlet and request a qualified service person to perform repairs. a. When the power cord or plug in damaged. b. When a liquid was spilled on the product or when objects have fallen into the product. c. When the product has been exposed to rain or water. d. When the product does not operate properly as described in the operating instructions. Do not touch the controls other than those described in the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of controls not described in the instructions can cause damage, which often requires extensive adjustment work by a qualified technician. e. When the product has been dropped or damaged. f . When the product displays an abnormal condition. Any noticeable abnormality in the product indicates that the pr oduct needs servicing.

◦ The mains plug and mains coupler as a disconnection device, shall remain readily accessible by the user. ◦ Use the this unit shall be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. ◦ Make sure it has more than 10 cm clearance all around the unit. ◦ Keep the product away from direct rays of the Sun-light.

Caution ◦ In case the product needs replacement parts, make sure that the service person uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer, or those with the same characteristics and performance as the original parts. Use of unauthorized parts can result in fire, electric shock and/or other danger.

◦ Upon completion of service or repair work, request the service technician to perform safety checks to ensure that the product is in proper operating condition.

◦ When mounting the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the product according to the method recommended by the manufacturer.

◦ The vents and other openings in the cabinet are designed for ventilation. Do not cover or block these vents and openings since insufficient ventilation can cause overheating and/or shorten the life of the product. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface, since they can block ventilation openings. This product is not designed for built-in installation; do not place the product in an enclosed place such as a bookcase or rack, unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions are followed.

◦ In case of rack mount, the inside of the product can be harmed by the heat from other devices and decrease of air circulation. To prevent this, have enough space around the product and keep designated operation temperature range by installing a cooling fan or using other effective methodes. [Refer to the ‘Specifications”]

◦ Keep the product away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves and other heat generating products (including amplifiers).

◦ If you use this product connecting to HDTV that does not support 1:1 picture mode, some border part of the picture could not be realized on HDTV screen. (If the picture on screen is not right with HDTV that supports 1:1 picture mode, please change it into 1:1 picture mode. Some HDVT might not support 1:1 picture mode or original size mode.)

[POWER] Lamp

Controls, Indicators and Connections FRONT ◦ [POWER] Lamp - Indicates the status of the Power. LED becomes Green when the status is normal.

◦ [COMM] Lamp - In case of upgrade and data communication, LED flickers to Green.

- LED is OFF for normal operation. If LED flickers to Green HEM-100 is not working properly.

◦ [MENU] Button - Used to activate the menu. - In the KEY LOCK mode pressing the MENU button for 5 seconds will activate the MENU (KEY UNLOCK mode) - In the KEY UNLOCK mode, the MENU will be deactivated(Key Lock mode) if there is no input for more than 50 seconds.

◦ [UP] Button - In the main MENU, pressing [UP] button will move cursor to move upwards. - In the value setting mode, the value will increase.

◦ [DOWN] Button - In the main MENU, pressing [UP] button will move cursor to move downwards. - In the value setting mode, the value will decrease.

◦ [ENTER] Button - Used to confirm a chosen mode. When the chosen menu is activated, “#” mark in the left side of menu will be changed to “*” mark. - When the menu setting mode is activated, the changed feature will be applied by pressing the button. - After applying the feature, “*” mark will be changed to “#” mark and then the menu setting mode will be inactivated.

◦ [KEY UNLOCK] Lamp - HEM-100 provides KEY LOCK function to prevent abnormal input. - In the standby status, the product is always in KEY LOCK condition and pressing any button will not work before the menu activation by pressing the [MENU] button for 5 seconds. - LED becomes Green when the menu is activated as the status becomes KEY UNLOCK. - KEY UNLOCK condition maintains about 50 seconds and becomes KEY LOCK condition automatically. Warning!! Make sure the product is grounded before connecting the input signal cables. The unit may not operate properly if the input line is connected before the it is grounded.

◦ USB (HOST) - The terminal is for USB HOST. - The terminal is for upgrade.

◦ COMM/PGM - The terminal is for CONSOLE and upgrade.

◦ AUDIO 1 (RCA jack) - Signal input terminal for external Audio Stereo signal. Also, the terminal is for AUDIO MONO input.

◦ AUDIO 2 (RCA jack) - Signal input terminal for external Audio Stereo signal terminal.

◦ S-VHS - Signal input terminal for S-Video signal.

◦ COMPONENT B R G - Signal input terminal for COMPONENT Video signal.

◦ CVBS - Signal input terminal for Composite Video signal.

[3] Menu Contorl Sequence ◦ Menu control sequence follows the order below. 1. Pressing MENU Button for 5 seconds will activate KEY UNLOCK mode and LED lamp will change to green. 2. Pressing MENU button once will display menu on the LCD screen. And pressing MENU button once more will make the product become standby mode. 3. Once the MENU apprears one can select the sub-menu by using UP/DOWN buttons. 4. After selecting a sub-menu, press ENTER Button to change the setting. When the chosen menu is activated, “#” mark will be changed to “*” mark. 5. Pressing ENTER Button to select any sub-menu with UP/DOWN buttons. 6. Pressing ENTER Button will save the new value and “#” mark will be changed to “*” mark. 7. If any button is pressed for about 50 seconds, the product will become KEY LOCK mode automatically and then the KEY UNLOCK LED will be turned off.

M02:ATSC CHANNEL #TERR : 002/057Mh ◦ CHANNEL Type - If ATSC MODE is set to [CHANN: KOR TERR], “TERR” is displayed on the screen. - If ATSC MODE is set to [CHANN: KOR CABL], “CABL” is displayed on the screen.

◦ CHANNEL Selection - For Terrestrial TV (TERR), the CHANNEL Selection is available from Channel 2 [002/057Mhz] to Channel 69 [069/803Mhz]. - For Cable TV (CABL), the CHANNEL Selection is available from Channel 2 [002/127Mhz] to Channel 126 [126/837Mhz].

M04:VIRTUAL CH #MJ:004 #MN:001 ◦ VIRTUAL CHANNEL - VIRTUAL CHANNEL function is provided in accordance to ATSC standard. - MJ stands for Major number of VIRTUAL CHANNEL and its value can be set from 1 to 999. - MN means the Minor number of VIRTUAL CHANNEL and its value can be set from 1 to 999. - Pressing [ENTER] Button once will change “#” mark to “*” mark. Channel can be selected from 1 and 999 by using [UP/DOWN] Buttons. Press [Enter] Button after selecting the channel value for the Major number. “#” mark will be changed to “*” mark and press [ENTER] Button to save the Minor number after selecting the value with UP/DOWN buttons between 1 and 999. “#” mark will be changed to “*” mark. - When the setting is completed, “CONFIG SUCCESS PLEASE RESTART” message will be displayed on the LCD screen. - The selected value has been saved but will be affective after restartng the system. - Select [SYSTEM RESET] in the Menu 21 to restart the system. - You may also use the [POWER] switch on the Rear panel to restart the system.

M05:VCT CH NAME #TLBC ◦ VCT CH NAME - VCT CH NAME is used for naming the Virtual Channel (VCT). - The name of the Virtual Channel can have 6 characters or less. - Supports Max. 6 letter of Alphabet Capitals and Small letter, Numbers and Special Characters. - Press [ENTER] Button and select the first letter with the [UP/DOWN] Button. Press [Enter] Button after set the first letter and then the second letter can be set. Set the other letters in the same way. - When the setting is completed, “CONFIG SUCCESS PLEASE RESTART” is indicated on the screen. - The selected value has been saved but will be affective after restartng the system.

◦ SDI - Used to set Video Input Signal as SDI Input. (SD/ HD) - When the Video Input Signal is changed to SDI, [AUDIO INPUT] is automatically changed to SDI EMBEDDED.

◦ HDMI - Used to set Video Input Signal as HDMI Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to HDMI, [AUDIO INPUT] is automatically changed to HDMI EMBEDDED.

◦ DVI - Used to set Video Input Signal as DVI Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to DVI, select the external Audio Input in the [AUDIO INPUT] menu since DVI carries only video signals.

◦ VGA - Used to set Video Input Signal as VGA Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to VGA, select the external Audio Input in the [AUDIO INPUT] menu because VGA carries only video signals.

◦ COMPONENT - Used to set Video Input Signal as COMPONENT Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to COMPONENT, select the external Audio Input in the [AUDIO INPUT] menu because COMPONENT carries only video signals.

◦ S-VIDEO - Used to set Video Input Signal as S-VIDEO Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to S-VIDEO, select the external Audio Input in the [AUDIO INPUT] menu because S-VIDEO carries only video signals.

◦ CVBS - Used to set Video Input Signal as CVBS (COMPOSITE) Input. - When the Video Input Signal is changed to CVBS, select the external Audio Input in the [AUDIO INPUT] menu because CVBS carries only video signals.

M07:AUDIO INPUT #EMBEDDED CH 1/2 ◦ EMBEDDED CH 1/2 - Used to set Audio Input Signal as EMBEDDED Audio Channel 1 and 2 when the Video Input Signals are SDI or HDMI.

◦ EMBEDDED CH 3/4 - Used to set Audio Input Signal as EMBEDDED Audio Channel 3 and 4 when the Video Input Signals are SDI or HDMI.

◦ EMBEDDED CH 5/6 - Used to set Audio Input Signal as EMBEDDED Audio Channel 5 and 6 when the Video Input Signals are SDI or HDMI.

◦ EMBEDDED CH 7/8 - Used to set Audio Input Signal as EMBEDDED Audio Channel 7 and 8 when the Video Input Signals are SDI or HDMI.

◦ ANALOG STER IN 1 - Used to set AUDIO 1 RCA terminal as Audio Input Signal input terminal. - External Audio Input should be used if the EMBEDDED Audio Signal is not included.

◦ ANALOG STER IN 2 - Used to set AUDIO 2 RCA terminal as Audio Input Signal input terminal. - External Audio Input should be used if the EMBEDDED Audio Signal is not included.

◦ ANALOG MONO IN 1 - Used to set the Audio Signal Input to use mono not stereo by using only the White Terminal(Left) of AUDIO 1 RCA terminals in the Rear. - External Audio Input should be used if the EMBEDDED Audio Signal is not included.

◦ ANALOG MONO IN 2 - Used to set the Audio Signal Input to use mono not stereo by using only the Red Terminal(Right) of AUDIO 1 RCA terminals in the Rear. - External Audio Input should be used if the EMBEDDED Audio Signal is not included.

◦ ANALOG AUDIO VOLUME - The function that adjusts analog audio volume. - It is able to be adjusted between 1 and 20 or mute. - MUTE is the function that turns off sound.

[9] AUDIO CODEC Below is the description for AUDIO CODEC menu.

M09:AUDIO CODEC #AC3 ◦ AC3 - Set audio codex as Dolby AC3.

◦ MPEG2 - Set audio codex as MPEG1 Layer2. - Some TV could not have audio output with MPEG2 audio setup.

M10:AUDIO DELAY #+0000ms ◦ AUDIO DELAY - Used to adjust the audio timing when Audio Signal does not match the Video Signal. - The Audio Signal can be advanced to Maximum . -0900m which means 900 milliseconds (0.9 second). - The Audio Signal can be delayed to Max. +1000ms which means 1000 milliseconds (1 second). - Adjustment can be made by 100 milliseconds step. - When the setting is completed, “CONFIG SUCCESS PLEASE RESTART” is indicated on the screen. - The selected value has been saved but it will be affective after restarting the system.

M11:VID BITRATE #18000kbps ◦ VID BITRATE - The function that adjusts bitrate of video signal. - It is able to be adjusted between 1000kbps and 18000kbps. 18000kbps shows the best definition.

◦ ATSC MODULATOR - Used to set the Output Signal ATSC modulator which outputs ATSC standard signal through RF Modulator. - Connect the cable from RF-OUT in the Rear of the HEM-100 to RF-Input connector of the Digtial TV to monitor HD broadcast.

◦ NETWORK RTSP - Used to set the Output Signal to Network RTSP. - Connect Ethernet to E-NET connector in the rear and access to IP Address of the product by using the RTSP software to watch video stream through the Network. - When the setting is completed, “CONFIG SUCCESS PLEASE RESTART” is indicated on the screen. - The selected value has been saved but will be affective after restartng the system.

[13] LOGO DISPLAY Below is the description for LOGO DISPLAY menu.

M13:LOGO DISPLAY #ON ◦ LOGO DISPLAY - The function that indicates virtual channel name set in M05 VCH CH NAME on transmitting picture. - Select ON, the name shows on the picture. - Select OFF, the name does not show on the picture.

- The function that sets logo position when the M13 LOGO DISPLAY. - LEFT TOP is the function that sets the logo on left top of the screen. - RIGHT TOP is the function that sets the logo on right top of the screen. - LEFT BOTTOM is the function that set the logo on left bottom of the screen. - RIGHT BOTTOM is the function that sets the logo on right b bottom of the screen. - CENTER is the function that sets the logo on center of the screen.

M17:IP ADDRESS #192.168.001.080 ◦ IP ADDRESS - Used to set Network IP Address. - Press [ENTER] Button and set the first digit of IP Address with the [UP/DOWN] Buttons. Press [Enter] Button after set the first part of IP Address and then the second part of IP Address can be set. Set the 3rd and 4th of the I.P Address in the same way. The IP Address can be set as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. As a result [ENTER] Button is used 4 times to change the IP Address. - When the setting is completed, “CONFIG SUCCESS PLEASE RESTART” is indicated on the screen. - The selected value has been saved but will be affective after restartng the system

M18:SUBNET MASK #255.255.255.000 ◦ SUBNET MASK - Used to set Network Subnet Mask of the product. - Press [ENTER] Button and set the first digit of Subnet Mask address with the [UP/DOWN] Button. Press [Enter] Button after set the 1st part of Subnet Mask address(3 digits) and then set the second part of the Subnet Mask address in the same manner. Set the 2nd, 3rd and 4th part in the same way. The Subnet Mask can be set as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
