We Understand The World And Business Of Healthcare Advances in healthcare continue to be dramatic - from genetic testing to the utilization of pharmaceuticals, new frontiers are being forged in the management of disease. Along with these advances come significant challenges. Tremendous growth in the aging population means more people are living longer, often with chronic conditions that are difficult to resolve and costly to manage. A rising demand for lower cost of care and changes in regulations and reimbursement, mean healthcare professionals will continue to face increasing pressure to manage conditions cost-effectively and prevent disease progression through an aggressive and proactive approach to care. These advances and challenges make it even more imperative that healthcare professionals across the continuum of care rely on the knowledge, experience and expertise of companies who fully understand and appreciate their clinical, operational and financial demands.

Expanding Expertise With A Strong And Reliable Partner Drawing upon its history for product innovation and quality, PAUL HARTMANN AG recognized the strong value and capabilities of Conco Medical Company, a highly respected US manufacturer of bandages and fabrics with a 50-year heritage of superior customer service and product quality. Our Products Are Part Of Medical History

Paul Hartmann

Professor Victor von Bruns

Sir Joseph Lister

Few companies have been at the forefront of healthcare like HARTMANN. Our history began nearly 200 years ago when a German entrepreneur, Ludwig Hartmann, developed his own manufacturing facility to produce caps, stockings and handkerchiefs in 1818. In 1867, Ludwig’s son, Paul, bought one of his father’s bleaching plants to found the company “Paul Hartmann.” Soon after, the company began mass production of absorbent cotton wool dressings according to a method developed by the prominent surgeon Professor Victor von Bruns. Paul Hartmann also collaborated internationally with English surgeon Sir Joseph Lister on a process for producing a germ-killing wound dressing. Paul Hartmann’s dedication and enthusiasm for scientific advancements resulted in the production of the first antiseptic wound dressing which started a new and exciting chapter in the history of wound management.

HARTMANN develops and markets a complete range of high-performance product solutions in the areas of Incontinence, Compression and Wound Management. Our commitment to partner with healthcare professionals provides products that enhance patient quality of life and deliver clinical efficiency and efficacy across the continuum of care.
