Han-Modular® Connector system System description

Han-Modular® Compact

The Han-Modular Connector System The Han-Modular® series is a Heavy Duty connector system that provides users with a very high degree of interconnect design and manufacturing flexibility. Over recent years the range of basic modules has been developed to meet the vast majority of customer application requirements. In addition to connections of electrical power and signals it is also possible to make pluggable connections for both optical and gaseous mediums with the Han-Modular® system. For example it is possible to combine both electrical and pneumatic connections in one connector to supply electro pneumatic devices. It is also possible to mount male and female modules in one frame making possible the safe transmission of input and output power in one connector. The applications described above clearly illustrate the reductions that can be achieved in numbers of connectors used by the application of this extensive range of modular inserts. Reduced assembly times, panel space savings and component cost savings will result from consideration of this modular system at the design stage. It is possible to mount from 1 up to 12 modules in one connector dependant on the type of hood and housing chosen. Typically the contacts used in the modular system are from the established and worldwide approved range of HARTING Industrial Connectors. Today the Han-Modular® system consists of more than 20 module types and is being extended by the versions shown in this brochure. In the future it will be possible to connect currents from 5 A up to 200 A, voltages from 50 V to 5000 V, pneumatic tubes from 1.6 up to 6 mm ID, sensitive bus signals and also fibre optic signals in both POF and glass fibre cables.
