Production The prefabricated elements are manufactured under controlled conditions in factory environment which ensures an excellent quality. Profiles are cut, machined and welded. The elements are assembled for fixing of fittings (i.e. cable trays, radiator brackets etc.), glass and gaskets. The finished elements are stored on a special rack storage unit for transport to the building site.

10

11

Installation Photos 1 and 2 Installation starts by positioning fittings for the elements on the building skeleton. After fitting of furniture the elements are hoisted to their positions by a mobile crane or a building crane.

Installation Photos 3 and 4 Elements are installed either horizontally or vertically. Elements can be adjusted both in height and sideways to ensure they are located in their exact position.

12

13

Installation The elements are ready assembled in one of HansenGroup’s production units. The controlled conditions ensure the highest attainable quality. Hansen UnitAl is a modular system (unitised) which helps to ensure an extremely fast installation. The possibility of installation without using any lift or scaffolding lowers the costs and increases building site safety. It is also easy to achieve a weathertight building which reduces the overall time schedule as other installation work can be started earlier. Weathertight building in reduced time = reduced time schedule = improved economy!

World Trade Center, Malmoe, Sweden Project data Client: Midroc Projects AB Architects: WSP Arkitekter Fenestration Engineers: PreconalHansen Profile System: Hansen UnitAl World Trade Center in Malmoe is one of the world’s most energy efficient office buildings with glass façades. To obtain this result and at the same time to keep expenses at a reasonable level, Medroc Engineering in a cooperation with PreconalHansen and their expertise within fenestration, have combined a curtain wall construction with high insulation, excellent lighting and light control. There is an automatic system for optimum energy exploitation which continually monitors and controls the indoor climate every day, all year round. The building houses companies and offices operating in the export and import sector. PreconalHansen has supplied 600 elements for in total 5,500 m².

Double façade Double façade protects the solar shading against wind and weather conditions. It provides better possibilities for installation of an advanced and efficient blind and solar shading control system. During the winter period, the extremely low U-values ensure a low energy consumption and reduced operation costs. During the summer period, solar shading is reducing costs of climate control.

Modular constructed façades To meet building industry requirements for modular constructions, HansenGroup has developed a prefabricated modular system for unitised curtain walls - modular constructed curtain walls - for use in commercial buildings and institutions. Hansen UnitAl has a number of advantages such as: • • • • • •

Fast installation process Low on-site costs High quality Various alternatives for profile combinations Excellent security Integrated solar shading

The extremely fast installation time ensures a faster construction of a weathertight building which will enable earlier start-up of internal work. Installation without any lift nor scaffolding reduces on-site costs and security will be increased for all parties involved on the building site. Light curtain wall constructions reduce requirements on the load-bearing structure of the building. Assembly of the finished elements in a heated factory environment which protects against wind and weather improves product quality and productivity. Elements can be supplied with fitted accessories such as cable trays, and can further reduce time spent on site for other sub-contractors. Hansen UnitAl has been tested in accordance with the strictest requirements. The system has been developed according to the new statutory energy saving requirements and meets all safety requirements.

Forum Jæren, Stavanger, Norway Project data Client: Forum Jæren AS Architects: Asplan Viak AS Building Contractor: Skanska Norge AS Fenestration Engineers: HubroHansen Profile System: Hansen UnitAl Forum Jæren in Stavanger, Norway, includes 5,000 m² of Hansen UnitAl curtain wall elements which have been manufactured and installed by HubroHansen.

42

43

Façade elements The prefabricated elements have got an even higher quality than a traditional aluminium and glass façade and at the same time, the installation time has been dramatically reduced. The client has a great choice of colours, glazing options, and design.

44

45

Efficient installation The building industry requires increased efficiency and the possibility of splitting each single project into modules. Accordingly, HansenGroup has developed Hansen UnitAl for prefabricated elements and unitised curtain walls for use in commercial buildings and institutions.

46

47

Unofficial World Record? In Norway the system has been used for ”Forum Jæren” - a 19-storey building in Stavanger. A Skanska building contract. HubroHansen installed 66 elements which should be ”an unofficial world record” in installation of prefabricated elements. The average installation was approximately 40 elements per working day. A successful use of façade elements requires an early start on cooperation and a positive dialogue between architects and contractors. The elements must be designed and details must be settled before production starts; in the same way as concrete elements are systemized for modern building.

Project It seems obvious that Novozymes as the leading company within bioinnovation cannot be content with just a façade! Novozymes chose HansenGroup’s system for modular constructed façades - Hansen UnitAl for their new office building. Hansen UnitAl is manufactured as 100 % prefabricated façades under controlled conditions without any delays due to weather or other site conditions. Other components, such as cable trays or solar shading, can also be fitted at the factory in the prefabrication phase. As a result of this, the time from startup of installation until the building has become weathertight is reduced dramatically. Novozymes is a fine example of a modular constructed façade with integrated blinds which has been custom-fit to client’s and architects’ requirements.

Novozymes, Copenhagen, Denmark Project data Client: Novozymes Architects: Jørn Langvad Arkitekter Fenestration Engineers: HSHansen Profile System: Hansen UnitAl Façade elements with Hansen UnitAl system offer time and money savings, and guarantee an excellent product quality! The installation time will be considerably reduced, whilst retaining excellent product quality, resulting in a weathertight building in a faster than normal time.

Integrated solar shading Novozyme’s new multifunction building has inspired a unique solar shading solution which was developed in a fruitful and constructive cooperation with Jørn Langvad Arkitekter. The front of the building has 264 pieces of 1.8 m wide and almost 4 meter tall vertical panels which have been manufactured from perforated aluminium, that even in a closed position allows a view from indoors. At the same time, they are also functioning as efficient solar shading. The panels are automatically closed when the last employees leave Novozymes, and open again when they arrive next morning. The changing intelligent façade is linked to the activity in the office building.

Automatic adjustable solar shading The intelligent façade changes appearance and function depending on building activity throughout the day. For example, when closed at night, the panels provide additional security and help prevent burglaries.
