SPECIALIZED PERFORMANCE TRAINING COURSES FOR 2012/13 Kids Performing™ is a premier school dedicated to the art of nurturing young talents in the genres of jazz, musical theatre and music. Since 2003, we pride ourselves in imparting performing arts skills as well as essential life skills to our students. As part of our outreach efforts in 2012 and 2013, we are offering specialized performance training camp courses for your students.

Company Profile Kids Performing™ is a school developing children in the art of performing. Founded in 2004, it is now a premier school in performance arts nurturing young talents in the various genres of jazz, musical theatre and popular music. The objective of Kids Performing™ is to train, guide and develop the child’s talent towards an immediate and realistic goal of performance and presentation before a live audience. We also aspire to impart essential life-skills to the students that will stand them in good stead through their lives. Self-confidence, teamwork, eloquence, creative expression, and more all contribute towards making an individual stand out in today’s competitive environment. With a team of qualified and experienced trainers, Kids Performing™ has developed three trademarked courses JazzKids™, UrbanKids™ and BroadwayKids™ for children from 7 years old at our academy. These courses produces quality performing groups that performs regularly in events and in concerts. Kids Performing™ has also been actively embarking on outreach programmes in primary and secondary schools in Singapore in the form of specialized camps, intensive workshops and year-long performance training courses. Curriculum includes singing, dance techniques, drama and speech work as well as the development of stage personality and presentation. Aside from curating camps for academic institutions, we have also been preferred to organize camps for international resorts and overseas programmes. Kids Performing™ aspires to grow into a regional, pan-Asia company, using her original multi-cultural, multi-lingual performance groups as a model for developing young talent, exposing them to a range of musical styles, teaching children of different backgrounds to work together, and instilling the discipline of the theatre. Importantly, Kids Performing™ continues her collaboration with government entities to promote the performing arts in Singapore, build audiences and train young talent, and to enhance Singapore's reputation abroad as a venue for high-quality performances and for nurturing cutting-edge talent.

Specialized Performance Training Courses ** JAZZKIDS™- “Performing with a Swing”  This course is a song and dance appreciation programme enabling the students to understand the fundamentals of vocal jazz and swing dance while teaching the basic skills of performance. In this course, vocal training is provided as these students are to sing one jazz tune. The students will experience “live” performances, and have the opportunity to internalise it by actually learning the basic skills necessary to perform one simple jazz song. They are also taught to scat, which is an important element of jazz. **BroadwayKids™- “Understanding Musical Theatre”  This course introduces students to musical theatre. They will be taught to understand and appreciate both the performance aspects that require singing, dancing and acting skills as well as the backstage roles of the production crew. They will be introduced to classic Broadway musicals as well as the contemporary ones through video screenings. They will be brought out on an excursion to visit a theatre backstage to experience the workings of a production. The students will be given roles as a project to produce one production number. UrbanKids™  In this course, appreciation of pop styles is inculcated with the special skills of singing, dancing and stage presentation. Selected songs from contemporary popular MTV- genre repertoire are taught and through these songs, students are trained to sing in styles suited for different genre and are choreographed for show presentations. **JazzKids™- “Performing With a Swing” & BroadwayKids™- “Understanding Musical Theatre” are presently AEP approved programmes.
