November 19, 2016 Dinner Upon arrival into Lisbon, you will be transferred to the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade Hotel and the balance of the day is yours to enjoy and explore all that Lisbon has to offer. Step from central Lisbon's most prestigious avenue into Hotel Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade, a 5-star luxury Lisbon hotel which celebrates the French art de recevoir. Immersed in the culturally rich heart of the Portuguese capital, this luxury Lisbon hotel also celebrates the country's history through stylish décor.Red and gold accents contrast with marble sculptures, dark wood and shades of brown, recalling the African and Eastern discoveries of Renaissance-era Portugal. In the early evening, meet Sanjay Goel and the Cruise Connections Team for our welcome reception.

November 20, 2016 Breakfast, Dinner After breakfast, meet in the lobby for our half day tour of Lisbon. The capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of History. Radiant skies brighten the monumental city, with tis typical tile covered building facades and narrow medieval streets, where one can hear the fado being played and sung into the night. After departing from the hotel, you will drive along Avenida da Liberdade, with its mosaiclined sidewalks, Marquis de Pombal Square and the Baixa area with the famous Restauradores, Commercio and Rossio Squares. You will see the historical quarters that are the soul of this wonderful city; from Alfama, to the trendy Bairro Alto and Chiado and the busy quarters of Baixa and Rua Augusta. They retain the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that has made Lisbon internationally known. Proceeding along the riverside, you will drive towards Belem Quarter, where you will visit the Carriage National Museum, one of the most curious museums in the city with a large collection of antique coaches and carriages dated between XVII and XIX centuries. The tour continues with the visit to Jeronimos Monastery, a 16-th century architectural masterpiece that was built to commemorate the discoveries of the Portuguese navigators. You will also see the lavishly decorated Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, all of them located in the Belem Quarter. The last stop will be at an antique bakery where you can try a sample of Pastel de Belem, a Portuguese typical pastry, before returning to the hotel. The afternoon is free to relax and explore Lisbon on your own.

This evening, meet for dinner at a local restaurant on the water front.

November 21, 2016 Breakfast After breakfast, meet in the lobby for our morning tour with transfer to the ship. Poetically described by Lord Byron as “This Glorious Eden”, Sintra is surrounded by greenery and is rich in difference species of vegetation. A romantic town with a turn-of-the century atmosphere, its luxurious vegetation hide numerous country houses and chalets which blend perfectly into the landscape. It was the summer residence of Portuguese Kings from the end of the 16th century and it was there that D. Ferdinand de Saxe-Coburg built a revivalist palacePena Palace (in the style of one of the castles of his cousin Ludwig II of Bavaria). The town was recognized as an UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.

After visiting the palace, you will have time at leisure to discover the village, its antique ships and handicrafts bazaars. You will then continue by bus to admire the beautiful landscapes and luxuriant vegetation down the mountain of Sintra. Continue along the coast to Guincho, a wild beautiful beach, famous worldwide by the windsurfers. Sand dunes designed by the ocean waves and the Green Mountain. From Guincho you will take the panoramic road back to Lisboa, along the Estoril coastline passing by the famous resorts such as Cascais and Estoril. The Estoril Coastline is worth visiting at all times of the year – in the spring for the greenery; in the summer for the sundrenched beaches; in the autumn for its mild climate and in the winter for the beauty of the restless sea. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you will proceed to the port to board the Oceania Marina.
