SEEDWAY MESSAGE TO CUSTOMERS

First & foremost - Thank You for your business. We highly value your trust in our products & service!

1-800-836-3710

The focus of our longterm comprehensive product development & evaluation program is to bring the best products to the NORTHEAST & MID-ATLANTIC market with the most regional supporting information we have. Whether its grain or silage, full trait, specific trait, conventional, organic, or NON GMOchances are we have a product and supporting information to meet the needs of each acre you grow. In today’s tight farm economy the key to success is choosing the right management tools. Every acre counts. And each seed selection is an important decision. When you are up against regional soil productivity differences, elevation changes, changing tillage/ herbicide systems, and necessary management choices; not every product fits every acre. Not to mention all the differing end uses. Grain, silage, specialty - choosing seed carefully can pay significant year end dividends. Seedway recommends corn growers consult the following detailed product presentation to select products based on end use. We have developed independent grain & silage product use guides. This guide focuses on profitable grain production. Please consult Seedway District Sales Managers or a Seedway office for additional product assistance. We plan for every Seedway acre to be the best it can be.

Does regional adaptation make a difference in grain hybrids? You bet it does... see our 2015 grain summary table. * Minimum 8 locations per maturity. GROUP > BU / ACRE

Relative Maturity: SEEDWAY rates hybrids in “days relative maturity” since it is most universally accepted in the region. This system compares hybrids accurately within the SEEDWAY product lineup. It should not be expected to compare directly to calendar days since corn varies growth according to environmental influences and management which are independent of the calendar. The NY value rates relative maturity for NY, New England and high elevation areas of PA in days. CCB (central corn belt latitude) value rates approximate maturity for OH,PA, MD, DE and VA in days.

Consult a SEEDWAY representative for additional information, or call the SEEDWAY corn product manager at 800-836-3710.

KEEP GOOD PLANTING RECORDS Apply suitable herbicides to each hybrid / acre.

CONVENTIONAL and Non-GMO. Conventional hybrids have no GMO traits bred into them. However, seed corn production is wind pollinated and testing individual seed lots is required to confirm conventional seed meets Non-GMO planting requirements for the grower. Producing a profitable high yielding crop requires a little more attention to crop fertility than it used to.

Most modern hybrids have the bred in ability to yield in the 150-200 BU / AC range for grain if they have adequate crop inputs. Then it takes some help from mother nature.

We can’t control weather, but we can control genetics and nutrient supply. Even higher yields than 150 BU/Ac are regularly occurring in the Northeast when management and weather favorably combine. This is not a one time fluke since the trend has been underway for some time. So, consider getting out the pencil-calculator-computer. The following tables model crop needs to guide crop fertility without wasting nutrients. CONSTANT NUTRIENT REMOVAL PER BU OF GRAIN GRAIN CORN ( FIRST YR.)

Grain Crop Nutrient Removal State university data varies slightly. This general table demonstrates the key principles. It is not a set of recommendations. Each farm / field is different.

Each bushel of grain takes out the same amount of nutrients. More bushels, more total nutrient removal from the acre. Nutrients must be replenished to maintain future yields.

Native soil fertility (baseline soil test), cover crop, and prior crop credits should be accumulated to determine additional nutrients needed to be applied to reach the yield target.

One basic fertility program seldom fits every acre ! You can fine tune to farms / fields / even sections of fields to the degree you can manage. Precision agriculture equipment is and additional aid.

SG BRAND SOYBEANS Seed containing a patented trait can only be used to plant a single commercial crop from which seed cannot be saved and replanted. Examples of seed containing a patented trait include but are not limited to Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans. CruiserMaxx® Beans with Vibrance® seed treatment, a combination of separately registered products, combines four active ingredients to protect against a broad spectrum of damaging above- and below-ground insects, as well as all major seedborne and soilborne diseases. In addition, CruiserMaxx Beans with Vibrance enhances crop performance through optimized root health and best-in-class protection against Rhizoctonia. CruiserMaxx Beans with Vibrance is backed by extensive testing, use and proven performance. CruiserMaxx Beans have consistently delivered increased yield potential for growers over the last 10 years on more than 80 million acres, across environments.

Crop growth potential is enabled by early season vigor. There is a visible increase in bloom and fruit development. The active ingredient performs well under a wide range of weather conditions. Benefits to the crop include greater density, height, root length, stem diameter, number of leaves per plant and higher yield. Most of these benefits are generated by protecting the crop for the first 30 to 40 days during stand establishment.

CruiserMaxx® has minimal impact on non-target organisms because it is present only on the seed surface and inside the plant. It is very safe for users and the environment.

CruiserMaxx® boosts plant development by inducing biosynthesis of specific proteins that defend plants against stress. Plants need less energy to protect themselves and invest more in healthy growth.
