Tiger Facts I) There are five different species of tigers.

II) Facts about where tigers live and what they eat! Tigers live in Asia. They live in rainforests and grassy or swampy areas. Tigers eat small and big animals, such as wild deer, cattle and pigs. III) Basic facts about tigers. A male is called a tiger. A female is called a she-tiger. The name of a baby tiger is a cub. The average size of a litter is two cubs. The sound made by a Tiger is referred to as a growl. IV) Facts about the size of Siberian Tigers. Fully grown they reach the length of 4 meters. An adult male weighs up to 320 kilograms. They are the biggest tigers in the world. V) Tigers are an endangered species. It is estimated the world population is less than 8,000. Tigers are an endangered animal. The Bali, Javan, and Caspian tigers have been lost forever and are now extinct. An “endangered” animal is one that is in danger of extinction. The causes of a species of animal becoming endangered are due to people destroying the land where tigers live, people bringing new animals into places where tigers live, disease, pollution, and hunting.
