When connecting the battery cable in step 3, the device will turn ON. The red led will be ON to indicate power availability. The green led flashes around twice a second during GSM initializing. The green led blinks slowly (once in 3 seconds) when GSM work normal. Now you can call us (on 7901617) for configuration and activation. The memory card is optional and used to store tracking information when GSM network not available. The stored tracking information will be uploaded to server when network available. Fully charged backup battery may lasts for 24 hours. Please connect external 12V DC power as soon as possible. Fix the device at a suitable location, and connect external DC power as in the below diagram.

Fix the tracking device at the highest location possible. A recommended location for speed boat is near the VHF set where the DC power is available (marked by a circle) Keep the tracking device horizontally for better GPS reception.

Device Configuration Once the tracking device is ON, please contact us (on 7901617) for configuration. You will need to provide the below information to us.  

The IMEI number – can be found outside the tracking device. The mobile number of the SIM used in the tracking device.

Vessel List – “My Account” My Account lists your vessels or vessels that had been shared with you by someone else. You may have special permission for the vessels under your account like modifying vessel details, accessing trip logs, trace routes, sharing etc. My Account

Vessel List - “Public Vessels” Lists all vessels that had been shared with public by users of FollowMe Tracking Service. Anyone who uses our service can see these public vessels (even without signing in). Under public shared list, users accessible for limited information of the vessel (History of trace routes, trip logs etc are not available under public view) Public Vessels

Icons Used: Green indicates, the vessel is reporting properly. Arrow indicates the vessel is travelling in the direction indicated. The coordinates, speed, bearing etc, can be seen on clicking the icon. Red indicates, the vessel is not reporting properly. Arrow indicates the vessel’s last reported location and direction. The last reported time, location, speed etc can be seen on clicking the icon. Green indicates the vessel is reporting properly. Balloon indicates the vessel is stopped. Additional information can be seen on clicking the icon. Red indicates the vessel is not reporting properly. Balloon indicates the vessel was stopped when last reported. Additional information can be seen on clicking the icon.

Start Tracking with Web Portal – Desktop version Visit www.followme.mv and login into our tracking portal. The portal provides the following tools.

Registration & Login

You have two options to start using our service.  Click “Register” to create your account and then login with the username and password.  Facebook users can directly login to our portal by clicking “Login with facebook” button. Tracking Portal

If you able to login successfully, you will be redirected to our tracking portal. You will see all your vessels in this screen.

Click the red option button at left edge of the screen to scroll option window.

Add & Edit Vessel Click “New” / “Edit” button, complete the information and Save.

         

Device IMEI – The imei number can be found outside the device Vessel Name – Enter your vessel name Client – Select company/business name (if available) Contact no – The telephone number displayed when clicking the vessel on the map. Vessel Type: Choose the vessel type Icon Color: Choose the icon color (which is also the line color for the travelled route) Fuel Consumption: Enter the estimated fuel consumption for 1 kilometer Label – Check if you want to display the vessel name on the map Show Direction – Check if you want to rotate the icon in the direction of travel. Sharing – Click if you want to share its location with public. Public shared vessels can be seen from home page when searching.

Device Information The device information will be updated with the tracking data received.

   

Update On – Date & time which the device status information updated. Device IMEI – The IMEI number of the tracking device Battery Voltage – Indicates the internal battery voltage of the tracking device DC Power – Indicates external DC source connected or disconnected o Available – External DC source connected o Failed – External DC source disconnected GPS Status – Indicates GPS available or not GPS Signal – GPS signal strength. Make sure the signal strength falls in green range (at least 10 bars) for accurate and stable positioning. Otherwise you may get false movement. Mobile Network – Indicates the operator of the GSM network that the device connected.

Show Travelled Route Click to select the vessel you wish to see the history, and then click the “History” button. Select the date “from” and “to” and click “Trace Route” button. You will see the travelled route of the vessel (if travelled during the selected period). The bottom right corner will indicate distance travelled and estimated fuel consumption for the trip.

Play Route After displaying the route, you can click the ‘Play’ button to play the route. The marker will move along the route indicating the time at the point.

Data Logs Click the “Data Logs” button to show the raw data logs in a table form.

Trip Logs Click the “Trip Logs” button to show the trips made during the selected date range. The trip log can be exported to excel for custom report generation.

Note: Fuel consumption is calculated based on the distance travelled and fuel consumption rate set for the vessel. (to set the consumption rate, click “Edit” and change the figures as appropriate)

Show Reported Locations (Check Box) Check this checkbox and click “Trace Route” to mark all reported points and the direction of travel. Please note that this function may be slow, hence recommended to select a single day.

Share Your Vessel This feature enables you to share your vessel with others. Click “Share” to open the sharing option. The list indicates people who can see your vessel. To allow new user to see your vessel, click “New Share” and complete the form.  

User Name: Enter the user name or email address that the user used to login. Set the access controls o Current Location – user will be able to see only the current location. o History & Statistics – Allows to see history, trace route, logs, etc o Device Settings – Allows to edit the device properties. o Allow Sharing – If you allow the user, the user can share your vessels to others.
