What’s NEW
redefining the ease of listening. We are pleased to introduce you to our most advanced technology – primax™. With primax, we deliver two clinically-proven world firsts – better than normal hearing in challenging listening environments like busy restaurants and clinically-proven reduced listening effort all day, every day.*
Here is a brief overview of what primax can do for your patients.
primax SpeechMaster: Enhancing speech in every speech situation. SpeechMaster is a collection of algorithms that work in concert to achieve less listening effort. SpeechMaster analyzes the acoustic environment and employs the first technology that is clinically proven to isolate the target speaker from unwanted surrounding noise and other speech. SpeechMaster acts as a conductor orchestrating digital noise reduction, directionality, and amplification to reduce listening effort. This is achieved by reducing noise and highlighting the dominant speaker’s voice in all speech environments throughout the day.
primax’s unique features: For situational sound enhancement. • Wireless CROS/BiCROS uses our e2e wireless® 3.0 with its low energy consumption industry benchmark and is ideal for patients with single-sided deafness. A Pure CROS transmitte is worn on the unaidable ear to send a wireless signal to the primax hearing aid on the aided side. This enables better speech localization, increased spatial perception, and reduced noise, all conducive to improved listening comfort. The CROS transmitter can be combined with the Pure RIC and also with Motion BTEs and Insio custom devices. • HD Music: Beyond the universal program, which enhances higher frequencies with its 12 kHz extended bandwidth, the wearer can experience richer, fuller sound and outstanding music quality, with three optimized listening environments: a concert, listening to music from a sound system, or while performing music through the dedicated HD music program. • EchoShield softens the reflected sound for better sound quality and reduced listening effort in places where there is high reverberation – atriums, hallways, lecture halls, and places of worship. • TwinPhone: Sixty percent of mobile phone users hold their phones to their ear, even when there is a hands-free option.** TwinPhone is the optimal solution for these wearers. It is automatically activated by a magnetic signal so the wearer hears the caller in both ears for better understanding. * Study conducted at the University of Northern Colorado, 2015, examined the effectiveness of the new features of primax by collecting and analyzing ongoing EEG data while subjects performed speech testing. For both primax features SpeechMaster and EchoShield, the objective brain behavior measures revealed a significant reduction in listening effort when the feature was activated. ** US Department of Transportation NHTSA, “The impact of hand-held and hands-free cell phone use on driving performance and safety-critical event risk.” April 2013
7
primax SpeechMaster: Superb performance that highlights speech. With primax, listening effort is reduced by making speech understanding easier. This is achieved by selectively activating and steering three key technologies in parallel: Noise reduction, directionality and now with primax, by steering amplification to target and elevate the dominant speaker over all other sounds in any environment.
Prime technology, maximum performance. That’s primax.
We call this SpeechMaster.

Reduced listening effort An independent clinical study in the US has shown that primax provided a significant improvement in ease of listening in demanding listening environments. A methodology using objective brain behavior measures with electroencephalographic data, showed a significant reduction in listening effort for mild to moderate hearing impaired subjects using primax hearing instruments, when applying advanced features SpeechMaster and EchoShield.
8
primax’s unique features: For situational sound enhancement. EchoShield: No more bouncing around. In places where there’s a lot of reverberation, normal hearing instruments amplify not only direct speech, but also the echoes that bounce off the walls. These reflected signals get mixed with the direct speech and the overall sound quality suffers. EchoShield is made for situations just like these, softening the reflected sound for better sound quality and reduced listening effort.
On the phone: Better calls all around. primax hearing aids improve speech understanding on the phone by allowing the signal to reach both ears simultaneously. With easyTek™, users can enjoy hands-free calls via Bluetooth®-enabled smartphones. Or, simply use TwinPhone which works with all phones and transmits the acoustic signals from one hearing aid to the other to reduce effort and improve the listening experience with no need for an additional accessory.

Wireless CROS/BiCROS: An end to one-sided conversation. Ideal for patients with unaidable hearing loss in one ear: primax CROS and BiCROS solutions are based on e2e wireless 3.0 with its industry benchmark for low energy consumption. A CROS transmitter is worn behind the unaidable ear and the sound it receives is sent wirelessly to the primax hearing aid on the other side, thus allowing the wearer to hear sounds from both sides.

Better hearing everywhere.
primax: Wireless CROS/BiCROS. Designed for people with an unaidable hearing loss or single-sided deafness, primax CROS and BiCROS hearing solutions offer better all-round hearing. A CROS Pure transmitter worn behind the unaidable ear detects sound, processes it and transmits it to the primax hearing aid on the other side, thus allowing the wearer to hear sounds from both sides. Directionality focused to the front and skewed toward the unaidable side maintaining CROS benefit in noisy situations.

: Key feature overview With primax, listening effort is reduced* as a result of a new advanced processing feature – SpeechMaster. More than a single feature or innovation, SpeechMaster is a collection of algorithms that work in concert to achieve less listening effort. Noise Reduction Speech and Noise management
Noise reduction scheme comprised of a slow, modulation-based algorithm which works optimally in noise-only situations, and a fast-acting Wiener Filter which works effectively in speech-in-noise situations. These two multichannel and adaptive algorithms provide optimal listening comfort for the wearer in a variety of listening situations. Improved effectiveness with superior frequency resolution offered in up to 48 channels.
SoundSmoothing
Noise reduction algorithm that targets transient and impulse noises such as rustling paper or clanging dishes without affecting speech signals.
Directional Speech Enhancement
Analyzes different directivity patterns to allow for attenuation of unwanted speakers or noise by simultaneously integrating information from the directional microphone system and the digital noise reduction system.
eWindScreen binaural
Provides a state-of-the art solution for better listening comfort in windy situations. Streams “clean” signal from the side with less-intense wind noise to the side with stronger wind noise.
Directionality Binaural OneMic directionality
Utilizing a virtual 4-microphone network for single-microphone instruments, automatic & adaptive directional processing is enabled. True directional processing, which combined with the natural pinna effect, allows single-microphone instrument wearers to better focus on speech coming from the front while suppressing sounds outside of the directional beam.
Narrow Directionality
Utilizing a virtual 8-microphone network for dual-microphone instruments, the beam of the directional microphone narrows so not only is noise from the back attenuated, noise from the side up to 45 degrees off-center is also be significantly reduced. Clinically proven better than normal hearing in demanding environments.
Spatial SpeechFocus
Spatial SpeechFocus offers true directivity to the front, back, right, and left side when speech is detected. This means that regardless of where the speaker is located in relation to the wearer, Spatial SpeechFocus provides directionality towards the speaker and attenuates noise from the other directions. In the Automatic Universal program, Spatial SpeechFocus is automatically activated when a Car situation is detected.
Unique primax features HD Music
Dedicated music programs that are uniquely designed to enrich the sound quality of music and to maximize the enjoyment of music, whether the wearer is listening to recorded music, attending a live concert, or making music.
EchoShield
Available in the Reverberant Room program, this feature reduces the effects of reverberation so that the sounds are clear and crisp again, reducing listening effort for the wearer.
TwinPhone
TwinPhone is the perfect solution for people who primarily hand-hold phones. This feature is automatically activated when a magnetic signal is detected. The acoustic phone signal is transferred to the contralateral aid via the wireless link.
CROS / BiCROS
Ideal for patients with unaidable hearing loss in one ear: primax CROS and BiCROS solutions are based on e2e wireless 3.0 with its industry benchmark for low energy consumption. A CROS Pure transmitter is worn behind the unaidable ear and the sound is sent wirelessly to the primax hearing aid on the other side, thus allowing the wearer to hear sounds from both sides.

Infection control. We suggest that all hearing aid and accessory items we sell be cleaned with commercially available anti-microbial wipes such as Audiologist’s Choice brand or similar products. It should be noted that hearing aid components such as receivers and microphones can be damaged if liquids enter the ports, or if any item is inserted in the port openings in an attempt to clean. Therefore it is recommended that, when cleaning hearing aids and/or accessory items, you do not allow excess liquid to enter any port, and do not push any obstructing material deeper into the ports. Under all situations it is important to thoroughly read and follow the directions provided by the manufacturer of any anti-microbial solutions or products you use for cleaning and disinfecting. Hearing aids and accessories are not designed to withstand true “sterilization”, for example, when using an autoclave or any similar surgical sterilization device that would involve exposing our products to extreme high temperatures or steam. We deem “domes” and “tubes (e.g. Slim Tubes) as “individual use” items and therefore suggests that domes and tubes never be reused or exchanged across patients. Under all conditions if such items have been inserted in the ear of a patient, and/or worn by the patient outside of the clinic, it is suggested those items never be transferred to another patient, even if they have been cleaned with an anti-microbial wipe or solution. For more information on in-clinic infection control, we refer you to the Audiology Online article Cleaning, Disinfecting and Sterilizing by A. U. Bankaitis, Ph.D., August 2009.

miniReceiver 2.0
Exchanging the miniReceiver and wax protection miniReceiver 2.0 – exchanging is as easy as 1, 2, 3
The miniReceiver 2.0 is easily exchangeable. To replace the miniReceiver, use the exchange tool to open and close the locking bar for reliable securing and no risk of dislodgement.
Open the locking bar.
Remove / Insert the miniReceiver.
miniReceiver 2.0 is equipped with the proven 2-step wax protection system.

Effective 2-step wax protection (wax guard)
The wax grid in the Click Domes has been modified and is now made of a soft silicone, which can easily be squeezed to remove built up cerumen, making cleaning simpler and more effective. A second line of defense sits directly in the tip of the receiver itself. The miniReceiver wax guard is an additional filter that prevents cerumen from entering the receiver and can easily be exchanged to ensure optimal sound quality. With these two effective and easy-to-clean exchange measures, most customer problems with cerumen can be resolved quickly and easily.
miniReceiver with wax guard Dome grid integrated into the Click Domes
With the new soft wax grid, cleaning the dome has become even easier: simply squeeze the tip of the dome to break up the wax.

DESCRIPTION
Invisible-in-the-Canal are the smallest hearing instruments available. They fit deep inside the ear canal and appear to be invisible.
Completely-in-the-Canal hearing instruments fit deep inside the ear, where they are hidden in the shadow of the ear canal.
Faceplate Brown, Dark Color: Brown, Tan
Faceplate Brown, Dark Color: Brown, Tan
In-the-Canal and Half-Shell hearing instruments are small enough to fit almost entirely in the ear canal, occupying half of the concha (the indented, bowl-like, outer portion of the ear) to significantly reduce their visibility.
In-the-Ear hearing instruments are onepiece hearing aids, custom-designed to fit within the concha. Their larger size means they are more powerful and can accommodate more options. They are also easier to manage.
