AT&T Toggle

Your welcome email is either orange or blue. Please proceed to step 1.1 for those with an orange banner or step 1.2 if you have a blue banner. You will need to remember which email you received as your credentials will be different in section 3.

Switch between work and play with the tap of an icon on your Android device. Carry one device loaded with your favorite games and apps as well as your encrypted business email, contacts and calendar. All of this is now possible with AT&T Toggle, and your company doesn’t mind one bit.

If you received an email with an ORANGE Banner (Figure 1):

AT&T Toggle separates business data by encrypting your business data in the work mode.

Click on the “Install” button to begin the Toggle registration process.

Before you begin installing AT&T Toggle, ensure that you meet the following requirements: 

You have a compatible Android device, running Android versions 2.3, 4.0.x., 4.1.x, or 4.2.x. All Android devices running 3.x and versions below 2.3 are not compatible. You have a Google Account set up to log into Google Play Store. You have a stable Wi-Fi or 4G connection You have infrastructure running Exchange 2007 or 2010, Office 365, IMAP or POP3. You have Exchange Active Sync enabled (if using an Exchange account). There will be several apps to install and you should allow for about 15 minutes for installation.

Skip to Section 2. You do not need to create a new AT&T Toggle Password. Your Password will be the same password you use to access your corporate information.

If you received an email with a BLUE Banner (Figure 2): To begin, you should have received an email from your Toggle Administrator with instructions to complete your registration. This email can be opened on your computer or from your mobile device itself.

Click on the “Create Password” button to begin the AT&T Toggle registration process.

Create your password and proceed to the next page.

If you are following these steps from your computer: You will be asked to specify your device email address to send the link to download AT&T Toggle (see Figure 4). If you are following these steps on your device: You will be taken directly to the Install screen (see Figure 7).

You will now be presented with a screen to create your password for AT&T Toggle.

Enter the email address that you have configured on your Android device and click on Send. You will then be prompted to check your email on the device where you would like to install AT&T Toggle. Figure 3

You need to create your AT&T Toggle password before you install AT&T Toggle, and it must be entered twice to make sure it is typed correctly. You must remember this password, as you will use it to log into AT&T Toggle later. Note: There is one password for AT&T Toggle and a separate PIN for accessing AT&T Toggle workspace on your device. These are NOT the same as your Exchange email password. 7/8/2013

Note: This email address will be used only once to send you the installation link. It will not be retained on the system.

You may be asked to complete the action using the Browser or the Google Play Store. Select the “Play Store” and continue.

Check your email from your Android device, and select the “Install” button.

After clicking the install button and going into the Play Store, you will be directed to the Google Play download page for the AT&T Toggle application. Select “Install” to start downloading the AT&T Toggle application. Figure 6

After the AT&T Toggle application download completes, open AT&T Toggle through the notification center by swiping down from the very top of the screen, and click on the “AT&T Toggle” file to begin the installation or by selecting the AT&T Toggle application icon in your applications.

After you have tapped “Open”, a welcome message will appear. Select “Next.”

Next, enter your user credentials when prompted. In Section 1 you should have received an orange or blue welcome email. Based on the email you received, your credentials will be

different. You will now be asked to accept the AT&T Toggle End User License Agreement. Once you read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions, Tap the check box, and then “Accept.”

Your credentials are provided through the enrollment email sent to you by your Toggle Administrator. The password is what you use to log into your corporate information.

After entering your credentials, click “Sign In.”

If it is not already enabled, the next screen will prompt you to enable “Unknown Sources”.

Note: You may have to wait a few seconds until AT&T Toggle has authenticated your user credentials. If your Toggle Administrator has added additional corporate terms of use, you will be asked to accept the Enterprise Terms of Use by tapping “Accept.”

After accepting the Enterprise Terms of Use, you will then be asked to make AT&T Toggle a device administrator. Tap “Activate”, and a message will appear confirming the profile has been updated.

Click “Next” and you will be taken to within your phone settings where you can check “Unknown Sources” to enable it.

You must manually accept the installation of all the listed applications. Select Continue to begin the installation process. Depending on your device settings, you may be prompted with the screen shown in Figure 20. Select Package Installer and Always.

Once “Unknown Sources” has been enabled, you will continue automatically to STEP FOUR. Note: “Unknown Sources” must be enabled in order to install AT&T Toggle applications. “Unknown Sources” is located within Settings-> Applications-> Check Unknown Sources. For Android 4.0.x and 4.1.x: “Unknown Sources” check box is under Settings > Security and lock screen.

Once AT&T Toggle has authenticated your user credentials, it will begin the process of downloading and installing applications assigned to you by your Toggle Administrator.

You will then be prompted with the screen shown in Figure 21. Select Install.

The list of applications may vary depending on what your Toggle Administrator has placed into your user Bundle, but at minimum you will always need to install the core AT&T Toggle applications: AT&T Toggle, Toggle Manager, ToggleHub, OfficeSuite. You may be prompted to download the AT&T Mobile Security app if you are a premium user and your admin includes this optional application. Note: The Toggle Manager Application communicates with your Toggle Administrator’s systems to make sure that your Android device has the correct permissions and privileges to access corporate data. IF YOU UNINSTALL THE TOGGLE MANAGER APPLICATION, IT WILL UNINSTALL ALL AT&T TOGGLE APPLICATIONS. If your Toggle Administrator has given you rd access to 3 party applications, then during this installation process you may see a screen similar to with one below. Click the Install button next to the application name. You will then be directed to Google Play to complete the installation. Once installed, click on the AT&T Toggle icon in your app drawer to return to the installation process.

After the app has installed, click Done.

You will need to continue installing the Bundled apps by selecting “Continue”, “Install”, and “Done” for each app.

Once all applications have installed, click “Finish” to continue.

Tap “Next” to continue. Select the checkbox and choose Toggle and hit Always. Figure 24

Note: If you selected “Open” at the end of the AMS install, go directly to Section 7. Once complete, AT&T Toggle will verify the installation of required apps and your device’s configuration. Complete the installation by installing any outstanding apps.

To configure the AT&T Toggle default settings, follow the instructions in the following help screens that will be displayed on your device.

Follow the instructions in the next help screen.

Once the AT&T Toggle settings have been configured, you will be prompted to create a PIN to access the AT&T Toggle business workspace. You will be asked to enter your PIN and to reenter that PIN to confirm. The length and rules of the PIN is determined by your Toggle Administrator.

Tap “Next” to continue. Select the checkbox and choose “Toggle”.

Once complete, you will be taken to the AT&T Toggle container home space.

Note: Unless your enterprise solution includes this optional application and you are licensed for Toggle Premium, you will not complete this step. If you clicked “Open” in step 4 for the AMS app, you will have seen AMS installation prompts immediately. If you clicked “Done” in step 4, you will now be prompted to install AMS. Follow the steps below to successfully configure AMS.

Once you create your AT&T Toggle PIN, the AMS application will open. You will see an AMS product screen and then you’ll have the opportunity to review the AMS End-User License Agreement (EULA). Once you read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions, scroll to the bottom and select “Accept.”

You will now see the AMS Scan Results screen. The scan results will indicate if a virus, malware or suspicious application was detected. If there is a Threat detected, you can tap on the results for more details and will have an option to Uninstall the virus, malware or suspicious application.

After accepting the AMS EULA, the AMS application will be activated (you will see the “Registering..” screen). You will then be asked to make AMS a device administrator. Tap “Activate”. The AMS client will scan your entire device (both the Personal side and the AT&T Toggle workspace) both now and, going forward, periodically for viruses, malware and suspicious applications.

The AMS icon will be located on your device desktop next to the AT&T Toggle application for future use. It will NOT be located in the AT&T Toggle workspace.

Enter your VPN credentials and click Connect to establish your VPN connection. You can verify that the connection was successfully configured by observing a green lock icon within the status bar. If the VPN connection failed, a red icon will be shown in the status bar.

Select the home button on your device to return to the AT&T Toggle home screen.

VPN Connection Successful:

Your Toggle Administrator may have enabled VPN access for your AT&T Toggle account. If so, then at this point you will be prompted to enter your VPN username and password as shown in Figure 33 below.

Note: if for some reason the VPN connection is lost you will need to re-enter your VPN credentials.

To switch between AT&T Toggle and the personal side of your device, a shortcut labeled Personal is added to the AT&T Toggle desktop as shown below. Clicking the “Personal” icon will bring you directly to the Personal side of the device. Additionally, many devices allow you to double tap the device home button to return to your personal side.

AT&T Toggle directly syncs with MS Exchange Server 2007 and 2010, IMAP, and POP3. When you access AT&T Toggle for the first time, you will be presented with the following screen:

While in the AT&T Toggle business workspace, selecting the standard Android App drawer will reveal the AT&T Toggle business applications which can be dragged to the business workspace. Tapping the ToggleHub icon (Figure 34) provides access to the AT&T Toggle storefront for additional enterprise applications and content.

Most likely your Toggle Administrator has already defined some of your email settings. In this case, you will only need to enter your Exchange username, Email address, and Password. An Exchange account configured with pre-defined settings is as follows:

After inputting your email address and password, tap “Manual setup” followed by “Exchange” to set up your exchange email account. Here you will be prompted for a Domain\Username, Password, and Server address. Once you have input these credentials, tap “Done” and then “Next.”

Note: If you do not know the domain, username, password, or server address please contact your Toggle Administrator.

If your Toggle Administrator has not preconfigured your email settings, you will need to configure your email settings. There are three different types of email accounts supported: Exchange account, an IMAP account, or a POP3 account.

Next, tap “OK” to allow the server to properly configure your account.

Once your email is set up, you will be taken to your inbox where you can refresh, compose, or change your account settings.

You will then be presented with a page to set the account options (Figure 41). Select appropriate options and click on the ‘Next’ button. You will be asked to create a name for the account. Enter an appropriate name for the account and click ‘Done’

Enter the Outgoing server settings. If you do not know your email server settings, please contact your Toggle Administrator.

Custom Notifications Flag for Follow-up

Note: Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo are the three basic webmail providers that are most commonly used today. If you would like to establish your account for one of these webmail types within AT&T Toggle, then you will just need to enter the Email address and the Password— AT&T Toggle will take care of the server and port numbers for you. However, if you have custom settings for your webmail server and port numbers, you will need to work with your Toggle Administrator to obtain these credentials. On the AT&T Toggle main page click on the mail icon and enter your Email Address and Password and then choose “Manual setup” followed by either “IMAP” or “POP3.”

Note: Here are the default email ports for: POP3 - port 110 IMAP - port 143 Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465 Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585 IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993 Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995

Whichever you choose, you will be required to enter details about the incoming and outgoing servers. The incoming server settings will be first followed by outgoing. Once you have completed all of the fields, you can tap “Done” and “Next.”
