Page: 20

Simple Moving Average Computes the average price over a given number of time periods to determine trends. Because it is an average, it lags behind the most current data. GTS provides 10, 50, and 200 periods with which to make the study. Selecting the Exponential or Weighted Moving Average places more emphasis on the more recent closing prices, thus reducing the lag time. The Triangular Moving Average places more emphasis on the middle time periods. To initiate any of these, Click on the desired choice. To deactivate it, Click on it again.

Lanes Stochastics - %D and % K The raw stochastic is computed as the position of today’s close as a percentage of the range established by the highest high and the lowest low of the time period used. The raw stochastic (%K) is then smoothed exponentially to yield the %D value. These calculations produce the original or fast stochastics. Click on the menu entry to activate.
