Project Finance Regional Breakdown $160

Global Project Finance totaled US$121.5 billion from 359 deals in the first half of 2016, down 6.9% from the same period in 2015. EMEA drove market activity with US$76.6 billion from 183 transactions, posting the second highest first half volume after 2008.

EMEA Project Finance totaled US$76.6 billion with 183 deals for the first half of 2016, a significant increase of 42.2% year-to-year. Oil & Gas sector posted a 27.5% increase from the same period in 2015, with 15 deals at US$25.1 billion. Asia Pacific and Japan project finance amounted to US$20.3 billion from 76 transaction in the first half of 2016, decreased 9.8% from the same period of last year. PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia's US$ 3.42 billion facility was the largest deal in this region.

Following highest recorded volume a year ago, Americas Project Finance fell 54.6% in the first six months of 2016. United States remained the most active market in the region, accounting for 72.5% with US$17.8 billion from 63 deals.
