Manage global marketing and innovation challenges How do companies deal with the increased globalisation and competition? They advertise, promote and introduce their products and services globally, and use innovation as a competitive parameter. Would you like to work with the companies and with the people that are in charge of marketing and innovation nationally as well as globally? The MSc profile in Global Marketing and Innovation Management will help you acquire the knowledge, the skills and the expertise required to analyse, plan, manage and implement marketing and innovation strategies on the global market. You will obtain a thorough insight into how to deal with the interplay between different internal and external stakeholders and factors that promote or inhibit efficient global marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation management, and especially the opportunities and pitfalls in managing these processes and projects. In addition to a strong practice oriented academic foundation, you will acquire managerial skills and tools that you can apply in your future career. Career opportunities As a graduate in Global Marketing and Innovation Management you will have the opportunity to pursue a variety of jobs and career paths. Given that your outlook is global and innovative, the career opportunities may be found in Denmark or elsewhere around the world. Your first job after graduation could be as marketing manager, marketing coordinator, project manager, line manager, account manager, brand manager, product innovation manager, research manager or within management and business consulting. You would also make a good candidate for management trainee programmes in international corporations. The entrepreneurial and innovative nature of the programme may also inspire you to self-employment, i.e. to start your own innovative venture.

Programme structure The MSc Global Marketing and Innovation Management programme comprises eight core courses (including a team project assignment) and three elective courses. One elective course may be replaced by a company project.

The Study programme Instruction combines lectures, seminars, case studies, assignments, projects and group work. The programme is designed with a clear progression and coherence between the modules. An international perspective is an important element of the programme, and it features the most significant recent research theories, methodological approaches, and findings from the international research community.

Academic year

The academic year is divided into two semesters, each comprising 15 weeks of instruction. Instruction for one semester will typically involve about nine 45-minute lessons a week. An information meeting and icebreaker event for new students is held at the beginning of the academic year. The autumn semester starts early September and ends just before Christmas. The spring semester starts early February and ends early June. Exams are conducted in January and June respectively.

Studying abroad

You have the option of studying at another university or business school (pending admission) during the third semester of the study programme. The University has partnership agreements with a number of universities around the world, which you may benefit from. You may also choose to spend a part of the third semester carrying out a company project.

The focus area Masters who complete this profile will through the profile’s core modules, the electives and the Master’s thesis acquire scientifically based knowledge and skills about marketing management, business-to-business marketing, innovation management, and entrepreneurship in a global perspective. Furthermore, the masters will acquire advanced knowledge and skills in qualitative and quantitative methods for global market research. On this background, the master will acquire competences to independently on a scientific basis to initiate, plan, manage, implement and evaluate global marketing, business development, and innovation management projects in both Danish and international companies and organizations.

Entry requirements To be admitted to the MSc profile in Global Marketing and Innovation Management, you must hold a bachelor degree in Business Economics and Administration. If you do not meet the above requirement, you can still be admitted if you have professional qualifications equivalent to the bachelor’s programme in Business Economics and Administration (BSc).

Application deadlines and tuition

You may apply for admission twice a year as the programmes commence in September and February. Programme commencement: Beginning of September • The closing date for applications from EU/EEA countries is 1 April • The closing date for applications from countries outside EU and EEA is 1 February Programme commencement: Beginning of February • The closing date for applications from countries outside EU and EEA is 1 August • The closing date for applications from EU/EEA countries is 1 November For students from countries outside EU and EEA, there will be a tuition fee of 8,500 Euro (as of 2014) for the first year of study and a similar fee for the second year.
