Once you have registered for the 100 Days to Health program, it is suggested that you also register for individual classes, seminars, other activities, etc.., at the Kickoff event on Sunday, January 8, 9-11am. If you are unable to attend the kickoff event, you are welcome to participate in any/all 100 day activities listed on the calendar, without enrolling in the specific activity, but, please note, some classes and seminars will have limited enrollment.

• For all activity descriptions, please review the 100 Days to Health calendar. • All 100 Day activities, with the exception of the Time Too Savor meal prep classes, Grocery Store Tours, Bunny Brunch, Marshmallow Drop and the Egg Hunt, will be held at the Kirksey Recreation Center. You must check in at the Front Desk for all 100 day classes, seminars and Free Friday participation. Present your name to the front desk and the staff will verify your enrollment in the 100 Days program. • During the 100 Day program, access to the Kirksey Recreation Center is only allowed for 100 Day seminars, 100 Day exercise classes and day use on FREE Fridays. Entry for 100 Day activities will only be allowed up to 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, excluding FREE Friday use. Day passes and/or class passes can be purchased for additional access to other non-100 Day activity at the Kirksey Recreation Center. • The Time Too Savor meal prep classes, Cardboard Boat Races, Dine in Movie Night, Bunny Brunch, Kids Night Out and the Indoor Triathlon require additional fees. These are the only 100 Day activities that require additional fees. All other activities listed on the 100 calendar do not require additional fees. • 100 Day staff will record all class participation. Participate in as many 100 Day classes, seminars, activities, etc.…as you wish. You are welcome to participate in all activities without enrolling in the specific activity but remember some classes and seminars will have limited enrollment.

100 Day Weight Loss Fitness Challenge Registration deadline is Sunday, January 8, 2017 To be eligible for the monthly raffle prize you must attend the monthly weigh-in. When you weigh in each month, you will receive an entry into the monthly raffle. To earn an additional entry into the raffle, you must work out on your own, attend any regular exercise class or attend any 100 Day activity for a total of 4 activities per week. A tracking sheet will be provided. If you are taking an exercise class, fitness/wellness seminar, then you must have the instructor sign-off on your sheet. If you are exercising on your own, you will be on the honor system with your tracking. WEIGH-IN DATES January 8 - 9am-5pm January 9 -9am-9pm February 5 - 9am-5pm February 6 - 9am-9pm March 5 - 9am-5pm March 6 - 9am-9pm April 14 - 9am-9pm April 15 - 9am-8pm In order to be eligible for the Grand Prize, participants must attend one weigh-in per month. Livonia’s 100 Days to Health – 2017 DESCRIPTIONS FOR ALL ACTIVITIES LISTED ON THE 100 DAYS TO HEALTH CALENDAR Battle of the Bulge Wellness Seminar- Exercise tips & coming down from the holiday food overload. Seminar presented by Cardiac Rehabilitation team, St. Mary Mercy Hospital. DATE: Wednesday January 25, 11am. Bunny Brunch Interactive- Enjoy games & crafts along with a visit from the Easter Bunny! Lunch will be provided. Advance registration required. Tickets available February 6 at the Kirksey Recreation Center. ADDITIONAL FEE: Resident: $6.00, Non-resident: $9.00. DATE: Saturday, April 8, 11am, LocationLivonia Civic Park Senior Center (15218 Farmington Road) Butts & Guts Workout – This exciting class puts the entire lower body to work. This class contains no choreography. Exercises performed in this class concentrate on the core, glutes and legs. Cardboard Boat Races Interactive- Let’s see who can build the best boat…in only 2 hours! Join us for our amazing, entertaining, laugh out loud, cardboard boat race! Each team will be given the same amount of materials- duct tape, boxes, decorating materials, and cutting utensils. No outside materials may be used. Teams are to build their boats at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Prizes will be given out to the Most Creative Design, Fastest Boat in Livonia and Heat Winners! Registration is required in order to participate. Registration period: January 2-February 17. ADDITIONAL FEE: $15.00/boat. Limited spots are available and spots fill quickly. Let’s talk about & identify your individual real life fitness & nutrition goals. Let’s work on setting specific goals for yourself & let’s figure out how your goals can work within your life. I will provide the support & resources during your journey of change. We will talk, we will workout & we will create change. Class presented by WITS certified personal trainer Debbie Black. Come learn tips on affordable protein sources, how to plan & prepare meals and follow the “MyPlate” guidelines. We will talk about how to get the best deals & how to grocery shop so that your dollar can stretch farther. Seminar presented by Registered Dietitian Noelle Blasch, RD. Everyday Nutrition Nutrition Seminar- Have you ever wondered “How do I improve my eating habits?” Come learn about healthy daily eating patterns including portion sizes and what kinds of food to eat. We will talk about what changes were made to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans as well as learning about the “MyPlate” guideline, healthy food choices and most importantly-how to create behavior changes that stick! Seminar presented by Registered Dietitian Noelle Blasch, RD. DATE: Wednesday, January 25, 10am Family Climb Class/Workout – For ages 6 and up. Get the family together for a fun time learning about basic safety, belay techniques, knot tying and voice commands. This class will only need to be taken once. Upon completion of this class, you will have access to the climbing wall every Friday, between 6-9pm and access to any Open Climb listed on the calendar. Fit after Fifty Workout – This class is designed for ages 50+. Class will utilize strength training exercises, involving the upper and lower body. A variety of portable exercise equipment will be used. This class contains no choreography. This class is a great workout for both men and women. All levels of fitness are welcome. Fit after Sixty- Fall Prevention Workout- This class is designed for ages 60+. Class will be centered on the unique needs of the active older adult who knows the importance of staying physically stable. Learn specific exercises that will decrease the risk of falling. Improve your stability. Class contains no choreography. Class will also include upper body & lower body strength training. All levels of fitness are welcome. Fitness Hub Orientation Workout/Interactive - For Adults. Introductory orientation to the fitness hub. Group orientations will cover the basics for cardio equipment use and selectorized equipment use. FREE Fridays at the LCRC, 5am-11pm- Take advantage of open swim, open basketball courts, fitness hub workouts, tree fort use, open wall use, indoor track use, etc..., every Friday during the 100 Days to Health! You’ll learn the difference between neutral spine and imprint, proper pilates breathing, ribcage placement, neck placement and pelvic alignment. This is a group walking club. The group walk will range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. It’s a great way to get motivated and participate in a group setting. A fitness tip handout will be included each time the club meets. The club will be instructed by NASM certified personal trainer Jeannette Debbs. Water Exercise Workout (Leisure Pool) – Work out in an aquatic environment. All levels of fitness are welcome. The class will be instructed by NGA certified personal trainer Ursula Hack. DATE: Wednesday, January 18, 7pm Women on Weights Workout – This class is designed for those who want a challenging strength training workout. This class contains no choreography. The class will involve upper and lower body strength training exercises. Core work is also included. All levels of fitness welcome. Yoga Basics Workout – This class will emphasize classical yoga posture. The student moves at his/her own pace to develop focus, strength and flexibility. All levels of fitness are welcome, including beginners. A mat will be provided or you may bring your own. Zumba Workout – Latin inspired, dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements. This class combines fast and slow rhythms that will tone and sculpt your body. The cardio based dance movements are easy to follow. Non-dancers and new exercisers will thrive in this nonintimidating party like environment.
