LAYOUT CAPABILITIES SurveyMap layout Analyst is the most powerful module of the software. •

With layout survey you can process hundreds of thousands of plot at a time!

You can run back computation simultaneously for multiple plots and obtain their bearings, distance and areas.

Using layout you can automatically generate a composite plan showing all plots with their plot Number, Area (sqm), bearing and distances.

SurveyMap has the tool to generate individual plan of all plots from the composite plan at a click. Meaning that if you have a layout containing 500 plots, 500 separate plans would be generated in few seconds.

You can also generate automated computation sheet showing either detail or summary report of your back computation.

It also has an interface for managing owners, plan number and other information.

With layout you can import a shapefile data containing plots and extract all the coordinates, generate pillar numbers and run back computation.

STEP 1: ENTERING PLOT COORDINATE INTO THE LAYOUT FORM 1. From the Tab Icons click Layout manager. the Layout Manager window will be launched

2. Click New Plot. The Plot Name Text Box appears

3. Type in the plot name i.e. PLOT A1

4. Click Add Coordinate

5. Type the first Pillar No, Y-Coord (Northing), X-Coord (Easting) as shown below.

6. After typing the first coordinates Click Add Coordinate. The first coordinate will be added to the table. 7. Repeat step 6 until other coordinates for the current plot “PLOT A1” have been entered. After you have entered the last coordinate, click Add Coordinate button

again to make sure that the last coordinate is added to the table then Click the Update button

8. Repeat Steps 2 To 7. For and entering coordinates for PLOT A2 or any other plots. 

When you entered PLOT A2 in Plot Name textbox, all the coordinates of PLOT A1 will go into hiding. After entering all the coordinate of PLOT A2 you should have something like the one shown below.

Coordinates of Plot A2

4. To compute PLOT A2, go back to the Plot Registrar Page, at the Plot Name; change PLOT A1 to PLOT A2. The Click Plot Task – Calculate Area (Current Plot). 5. The back computation and Area of PLOT A2 will be computed and added to PLOT A1 on the result page as shown below.

6. To compute Back Computation for Multiple plots together at once is simple. First select all the records on the Result page and delete so that we won’t have duplicate computation. 7. Go to Plot Registrar Tab, type ALL at the Plot Name text box to display the entire. coordinate for PLOT A1 and PLOT A2

8. From the main Tab click Compute Layout. Your computation will be displayed on the Result Page.

7.2 MANAGING LARGE LAYOUT PLOTS Layout surveys often time contains more than two plots, usually 100s of plots and sometimes 1000s of plots. In a situation like this we cannot expect to start typing in the plot coordinate one by one. The correct option is to import those coordinates from excel and more commonly is the csv file (comma separated values) file. In this section you will learn how to import plot coordinates from csv file or text file into SurveyMap layout manager and process computation. 

Before you upload your layout coordinates arrange its plots in the following format. You can easily do this in excel. 14.55m 8,42-Approval, 20

The format for upload is in csv file or text file. Save your coordinates as .csv (comma delimited) But if you are importing from text file simply save your file as “.txt“ or “.csv” Take note not to include the heading column i.e. Sno, Plotname, Pillarno, Northing, Easting

1. Click the import layout Plot/Coord – From csv. You can find a sample layout coordinates consisting about 74 plots four plots in the tutorial folder on the CD. SURVEY MAP LAYOUT STEP BY STEP USER GUIDE v8 Copyright 2006-2013 Geospatial Cooperation |All right reserves

Note, You can also import shapefile data containing plots into the Layout form-the coordinates would be extracted automatically.

2.

3. Your coordinates would be displayed.

3.

Click Compute Layout. The following result page will be displayed showing the back

computation of each plot.
