Mercedes-Benz InCar Hotspot Introduces the internet to your E-Class. All you need is a WLAN-enabled device (laptop, mobile phone, MP3 player). The system provides a quick, stable connection to data networks such as HSDPA/UMTS or GSM/GPRS/EDGE via your car’s roof aerial. Up to four devices can be connected at the same time | system requirements: E-Class, W212, with Convenience Telephony (Code 386); WLAN-enabled device with WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g interface | Mercedes-Benz iPod® Interface Kit1 It’s easy to control your iPod via the multifunction steering wheel: scroll through the menus [A], adjust the playback and volume [B] and display the title of your choice in the instrument cluster [C]. One “click” is all it takes to replace the system’s “intelligent” mobile-phone holder. It takes a matter of seconds and is as straightforward as inserting the mobile into the holder itself. Changing your mobile and even alternating between different models of mobile no longer presents a problem. There are no compromises when it comes to convenience-enhancing telephone technology either: the phone can be operated via the multifunction steering wheel, and the phone status and call information are displayed in the central multifunction display – as you would expect. Your phone’s battery is also charged and connection to the car’s external aerial makes for improved reception. The telephone module is designed to extend the mobile communication system in your Mercedes-Benz.
