Around The Basin Ltd offer Independent Supported and Guided Cycle Adventures as well as a Bike Shuttle Service and Bike Hire within Queenstown and the Wakatipu Basin. Around The Basin is owned by two Queenstown locals Steve Norton and Lisa Cooper, both passionate cyclists with over 23 years of involvement in the adventure tourism industry. The Around The Basin (ATB) target market is Grade 1 to 2 riders wanting a quality biking experience in one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand renowned for its spectacular scenery. The purpose built Queenstown Trails wander through the basin, past two lakes, three river gorges, historic Arrowtown, the wine area of Gibbston Valley and countless mountain ranges. These purpose built trails that ATB utilise are all off road. Around The Basin has an affiliation with the Around the Mountains Cycle Trail, the Otago Central Rail Trail, the Hauraki Cycle Trail and Railtrailsnz.com.

Group Bookings Around the Basin require a minimum of 48 hours notice for any groups larger than 8 either guided or supported. Supported groups can be up to any size. Guided groups can not be larger than 25 persons on any given cycle tour at one time unless requested.

Season of Operation - All Year Round Summer Season - October 1st to May 30th - Full Day and Half Day products will operate. Winter Season - June 1st - September 30th - Winter Half Day product operates 11am - 4pm.

Booking Conditions Bookings are essential and pre-payment is required to confirm a booking. ATB reserves the right to amend timetables, cancel departures, substitute plant or equipment and alter ticket prices at any time. See full terms and conditions. • ATB shall not be held responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late arrival of public transport, change of schedule, strikes, vehicle breakdown, Acts of God, or other conditions. • The right is reserved to decline to accept or retain at any time any participant in any tour. • If any person riding in such a manner that it causes damage to the bike then that person is liable to pay for the fixing of the bike and for any replacement parts that may be required. • Helmets must be worn at all times on cycling tours.

Refunds The Operator reserves the right to assess cancellations on a case by case basis and any decision on refunds is entirely at the discretion of the Operator. Any decision regarding an exception to the stated policy will be made entirely at the discretion of the Operator. See terms and conditions.

General Information

Cycle Trails All trails biked are Grade 1 to 2 beginner to intermediate made of well compacted gravel material. Wide trails allowing easy passing at most areas, with small hills of easy gradient. Clothing and What to Bring Rider should wear short pants, riding pants or tights. If long pants are to be worn they must not be loose or baggy. Sturdy Footwear not open toed. A wind proof rain proof jacket is desirable along with practical clothing appropriate for the weather. Extra gear not required can be carried by the support vehicle. Rain proof jackets are available for use. Water, sunglasses, sun hat and sunblock recommended. Bring a wallet for purchase of products from Gibbston Winery or Cheesery or The Kawarau Bungy Centre. Gear Supplied Mountain bikes to suit rider level, helmets, bar bags (on request) for customer clothing, gel seats (on request) a map of the route being traveled highlighting the support areas and picnic areas. Hire Bikes 2014/15 model mountain bikes, with disc brakes and comfortable seats. 2014/15 model easy ride mountain bikes with comfortable seats suitable for mature riders. Children's bikes are available by prior arrangement.

Cycles Supplied by Others All cycles not supplied by ATB must be suitable for the trails and in good mechanical order. The supplier of the bike will be responsible for the mechanical integrity of the bike. ATB can refuse to allow any supplied bike on its supported or guided trips. Level of Fitness While a reasonable level of fitness is recommended, riders will have the opportunity on the supported or guided rides to hitch a ride with the support vehicle to tailor the ride to suit their fitness level. Independent Supported Includes Mountain bike and equipment hire, shuttle bus transfers and vehicle support at designated points along the trail, map and detailed directions, refreshments, wine tour/tasting, pick up/drop off in central Queenstown. Guided Includes A more personalised service providing you with a knowledgeable guide who will be with you throughout the ride, mountain bike and equipment hire, shuttle bus transfers and vehicle support at designated points along the trail, pickup/drop off at central Queenstown accommodation.

Half Day Bike Tour SEASON: 1 OCTOBER - 30 MAY Ride Arrowtown to Gibbston Wine Country to enjoy a wine tasting experience. Your ride starts with a scenic drive from Queenstown to historic Arrowtown. From here we set you off on a mostly flat, easy trail meandering along the Arrow River and Kawarau River gorges, you will cross three suspension bridges including the famous Kawarau Bungy bridge, enjoy panoramic mountain views and finish with a ride through the vines to Gibbston Winery. After a relaxing wine tasting experience we deliver you back to Queenstown. Throughout your half day ride you will have the reassurance of vehicle support at designated points.

ADD LUNCH (additional cost - morning trip only) If you choose this option - stay for a relaxing lunch at Gibbston Winery after your morning ride, enjoy a complimentary glass of Gibbston wine. Delivered back to town by 2.15pm. Lunch is paid directly to the Winery.

Half Day Ride Breakdown Morning Pick Up Pick ups from central Queenstown accommodation are available and will be completed between 8 45am and 9 15am. Confirmation for all pick ups is essential. Full Day Bike Tour SEASON: 1 OCTOBER - 30 MAY Riding from Queenstown to Gibbston Wine Country showcasing the highlights of Queenstown’s Cycle Trails Our Full Day Ride begins in Queenstown and follows the shore of Lake Wakatipu, enjoying a cafe stop at the historic Boatshed Cafe and a picnic lunch at Lake Hayes. Then we transfer you to the quaint goldmining village of Arrowtown, and set you off cycling the beautiful Arrow River gorge toward the Kawarau Bungy bridge and Gibbston Valley Winery for a cave tour and wine tasting before being delivered back to Queenstown. Winter Bike Tour SEASON: 1 MAY - 30 SEPTEMBER To make the most of the winter sun, we transfer you from Queenstown to the heart of the Wakatipu Basin, enjoy riding through the country lanes, farmland trails and around beautiful Lake Hayes, a hot drink and snack awaits. Riders are then transferred to the Arrowtown River Trail to cycle along two river gorges, over suspension bridges and through spectacular snow capped mountainous surrounds before arriving at the Gibbston Valley Winery to enjoy a relaxing wine tasting before being delivered back to Queenstown.

Multi Day Cycle Adventure Example This Multi Day Adventure combines three days of riding, one day on the purpose built Wakatipu Cycle Trails where you wander through the basin, past two lakes, three river gorges, historic Arrowtown, the wine area of Gibbston Valley and countless mountain ranges. After your days riding you will be transferred to your accommodation in Wanaka. The following day sees you cycling the shores of spectacular Lake Wanaka till you meet the outlet of the mighty Clutha river, which you follow for the afternoon before being transferred to your accommodation in Queenstown. On day three you’ll be driven to the quaint historic town of Clyde to ride the banks of the Clutha River past Orchards and Wineries to the town of Alexandra. Spend your afternoon riding part of the famous Otago Central Rail Trail to Chatto Creek Tavern. Before being driven back to Queenstown through the stunning Central Otago countryside. . No flowery words can give you a hint of how spectacular this multi day Cycle Adventure is .........just book and come and see.

General Information Accommodation Accommodation superior private twin/share en-suite room twin bedroom or groups can be catered to. A continental Breakfast is provided at the accommodation. Allow us to arrange a quality competitive accommodation package for the pre and post cycle days in Queenstown. Meals Bed and Breakfast, morning and afternoon tea and packed lunches are included on each riding day. Baggage An overnight bag will be carried by the support vehicle on the riding days, this bag to be no larger than 25 litres or 20 kgs. Any baggage not required during the ride, requiring storage or transfer from accommodation on non riding days will need to be reserved and must accompany the rider on the day one morning accommodation pick up. Costs to store bags will be $10 per bag. Gear Supplied Mountain bikes to suit rider desire and level, helmets, pannier carriers for customer clothing, a map of the route being traveled highlighting the support areas and picnic areas. Level of Fitness Riders will have the opportunity on the supported or guided rides to hitch a ride with the support vehicle to tailor the ride to suit their fitness level. Guide/Support driver Included A knowledgeable guide to accompany you for the entire trail, providing constant contact with the support vehicle, commentary on the surrounds and mechanical back up.

Multi Day Itinerary Example Day One - Multi Day Example Day ones adventure sees you experience the stunning surrounds of the Wakatipu Basin and it’s magnificent scenery. We will pick you up from your accommodation and deliver you to our Queenstown Ride Centre for your bike fitting, from there you will be delivered to the track where you follow the shores of Lake Wakatipu. After a morning tea stop your ride will continue from the Old Shotover Bridge following the river till it joins the Kawarau River Gorge. Stop at one of the many stunning points along the way to enjoy your packed lunch. You will be looked after all the way with vehicle support points which allow you to hitch a ride with us further along the track if needed. Your cycling finishes at the Historic Kawarau Suspension Bridge where you will be taken to the Gibbston Valley Winery for wine cave tour and tasting before being transferred to your accommodation in Wanaka.

Day One Breakdown Pick up Time from Accommodation All pick ups will be completed between 8 30am and 8 45am. Accommodation pick ups are only available within the Queenstown CBD area unless otherwise organised. Trip Start Time Meeting time 9am at the Ride Centre, 23 Brecon Street, Queenstown. Day Two - Multi Day Example Day two begins with a transfer from your accommodation to Lake Wanaka where you will cycle along the shores of this spectacular lake for the morning. This easy riding cycle trail skirts around Lake Wanaka till it meets the outlet of the Clutha river, stop and enjoy your picnic lunch soaking up this incredible vista. Your afternoon will be spent meandering along the mighty Clutha river with countless areas to stop, relax and even swim. At the end of your ride you will then be transferred to your accommodation back in Queenstown with time to relax and enjoy your evening in the Town.

Terms and Conditions SAFETY TERMS AND CUSTOMER DECLARATION There are inherent risks, dangers and hazards in adventure activities, which includes cycling, mountain biking and hiking. We will endeavor to make your trip as safe as possible, but not all risks, dangers and hazards can be anticipated or avoided. You are expressly assuming those risks personally and are, to the maximum extent permitted by law, releasing the Operator and its officers and employees from any liability, claims, losses, damages or expenses caused by any event including, but not limited to: • Personal injury or death • Property loss or damage • Acts which may be construed as negligent or accidental • Any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder

In participating in the activity I, the passenger, agree to the conditions set out as above and consent to the conditions in clauses 1A to 1F below and 2 to 7. I agree that my successors, executors, administrators and next of kin are bound by the terms and conditions. I agree not to commence any litigation or proceedings in any country in relation to the risks and perils set out in B above and to indemnify the Operator against any such claims. I confirm that I am physically fit and suffer no medical conditions, which may be aggravated by this activity. I consent to receive medical treatment in the case of injury, accident or illness during the activity and to indemnify the Operator against any claims in respect of this treatment. I agree that any films, sound, video or other recordings taken of or during the activity will not be used in any promotion or advertising without the prior consent of the Operator, however the Operator may use such recordings itself at its complete discretion without any prior approval. I agree to listen to my driver/guide, follow their instructions and make sure any children in my care do the same.

Any vouchers issued by an agent for the Operator Around The Basin is non-transferable.

The selling agent and or Operator accept no responsibility for any loss or additional expenses arising from changes, delays or cancellations of the services and activities of the Operator.

4 - This voucher is based on fares and tariffs, which are, to the best of the Operators knowledge, correct at the time of issue. Any increases since the date of issue are at the cost of the passenger payable to the Operator. 5-

Cancellations – the Operator reserves the absolute right to cancel any service as a result of weather conditions, insufficient reservations or any other unforeseen event or circumstances.
