Five years’ experience in motor vehicle repair and maintenance. Ability to analyze and determine type and extent of repairs needed. Ability to assign and supervise shop personnel. Knowledge of and experience in preventive maintenance procedures, parts purchasing, and spare parts inventory record keeping preferred. Must possess Commercial Driver License.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Transportation SUPERVISES:

Mechanics and other shop personnel.

POSITION GOALS: PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.

Supervise repairs and maintenance of Bay County School Board motor vehicles.

2.

Work continuously to make sure that buses are maintained in the best possible condition and are safe and clean.

3.

Make sure inspection and repair records are properly maintained in order to reflect work done and costs involved.

4.

Assist in exercising control over purchasing and inventory to insure the lowest possible cost of operation.

5.

Make sure that vehicles are properly inspected at least monthly in accordance with established procedures.

6.

Consult with and take advantage of the experience and services offered by State Department of Transportation.

7.

Insure that spare parts are properly marked and stored and that the parts inventory record cards are maintained to show an accurate count of spare parts.

8.

Work continuously to increase efficiency, build team work, and promote harmony among all personnel.

9.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve months. Salary to be paygrade as established by the School Board in current salary schedule.

Must be knowledgeable in current state and local laws, School Board Policies, and school bus operations directives.

4.

Must hold a valid Commercial Driver License.

5.

Qualification as a driver instructor.
