The Regular Meeting of the Garfield Board of Education held on Monday, June 15, 2015, 6:30pm work session and regular meeting immediately following, at Garfield Middle School. Minutes I.

Executive Session: Motion made by Mr. Nucifora to go into Closed Session, said motion seconded by Mrs. Gray and carried by unanimous vote. Went into closed session at 6:55pm during closed session

possible litigation, legal matters, negotiations, and personnel were discussed. Came out of executive session at 7:34pm motion made by Mr. Derrig and said motion seconded by Mr. Barckett

Previous Board Minutes May 18, 2015 Mr. Barckett motioned to approve the minutes as submitted. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Derrig, carried by unanimous vote.

IV.

Superintendent's Report: Teacher of the year was presented by Mr. Barbier. Teachers were awarded certificates and Mr. Barckett presented a citation from Mayor Raymond. Mrs. Bulger, Principal of School #10, had a presentation from the Philanthropy Committee. Staff and Students were recognized in making awareness and a difference in our community. Mrs. Ottomanelli and Jeanette Nelke presented awards. Mrs. D’Amico presented the Student of the month for May, Javier Vidal and the Student of the Month for June Artur Tomaszkowicz. Mr. Perrapato presented to the Board the HIB Report for June.

V.

Old/New Business: Mr. Derrig commented on the River Clean up participation, it was a worthwhile event and all the students did a great job. Mr. Derrig also added he agrees with changing Board Elections to November to save money and avoid conflict with the Budget being defeated
