Welcome to Brothers leagues Club. This booklet is designed to give you some basic information on our club and the EGM’s (Electronic Gaming Machines) used in this club. Brothers Leagues Club currently has 200 poker machines. Our range includes 1c, 2c, 5c and $1 EGM’s for our patrons. The brands of EGM’s we currently have are; - Aristocrat - International Gaming Technologies (I.G.T) - Konami - Aruze Games - Ainsworths - Voyager - Shuffle Master Legally we require at least one person on per shift with a gaming licence and a minimum of two in the venue. If you are working in the gaming machine area it is expected that you obtain a gaming machine licence at you own expense as it lasts for 5 years. We can pay for the licence and organise a weekly pay deduction from your pay if you prefer. If you would like more information please talk to human resources.

Stand alone progressive machineswhere the jackpot/s is for one EGM alone eg: Mr Woo, Rapid Fires

In house linked jackpots - where the jackpot/s is for two or more EGM’S linked together with a display above joining the machines eg Jackpot carnival, Jet setter, Major money, fast lane.

Brothers Leagues Club also has a State Jackpot that covers many venues and can have a jackpot amount of up to approximately $60,000.

A. Keys Keys are strictly governed by QOGR regulations. We have 3 different colour coded keys. 3 Gaming Training Manual

Red – Main door key Blue – Note acceptor door and cash box door (not on keys) Green –Stacker box key (not on keys) Never open the stacker box with a green key if the stacker needs to open for any reason always call a duty manager this is for strict security reasons. Keys must always be signed out at the start of your shift and returned and signed in at the end of your shift. These keys must never leave the premises. If you happen to take the keys home please phone a duty manager and return keys as soon as possible. You will notice some machines can be closed without keys but this does not apply to all machines. Never slam a door if you are having trouble closing it. It is also important that care is taken when opening machines. Patience is crucial when dealing with locks and keys. Do not try and force a lock if it becomes difficult to open. Care must be taken as not to bend or brake keys if you cannot open the call a duty manager to have a look at it if they cannot open it they will call a lock smith. B. Opening If you are rostered on a 10am shift check all machines have no errors before trade starts. Each machine has lights called run way lights they are located on top of the note head if they are not flashing the machine has an error. If you cannot clear a fault get another staff member or duty manager to look at the machine before calling it in.

II. About EGM’s A. The hopper The hopper is located inside the main door of the gaming machine. When the player presses the collect button to redeem credits, coins are paid from this area. When the hopper becomes empty the machine will automatically generate a hopper refill voucher through the cashier’s computer. If a voucher has not been produced then the meters on the hopper level are incorrect. Please call a duty manager to change the hopper level. The hopper fill docket must be preformed or witnessed by a licensed staff member. Hoppers may jam due to coins being stuck, especially if coins are damaged. If coins are damaged replace with a new coin from cashiers to stop further jams. The coins are usually easy to dislodge if not simply shake the hopper and put back into the machine and key the reset button.

B. Coin Comparator The coin comparator is a coin acceptance device located on the inner side of the main door panel. The comparator compares coins place in the gaming machine. Coins may sometimes jam in the comparator, simply disconnect comparator and remove coin if the coin is damaged replace it with a new coin from cashier to stop further jams.

C. Button Panel The button panel on the front of the gaming machine contains the “bet” buttons and “line” buttons. These buttons enable a player to choose the amount that they bet on any game and the number of lines played.

D. Note Accepter and Coin Slot The note acceptor validates the notes inserted into the machine to check the amount and to ensure the note is not damaged. Notes will be accepted automatically by laying the note flat into the acceptor. Machines only accept $5, $10 and $20 notes. If there are any errors with the machine the ‘runway’ lights will not be flashing.

E. Fluorescent Bulbs in EGMs Fluoresent lights are use to illuminate the art work at the top , behind the main front door sometimes these light will fail and will need to be replaced. There is a supply of these located in the office behind cashiers.

F. Glossary of Terms Auto Gamble-An option that when selected before starting a game, allows a player to indicate a preference for either full or half gamble on every win. Ballast- An electronic component that drives a fluorescent tube. Bill Stacker Box-An assembly that receives and holds notes Bill Validator-A device that accepts bills and cause the host machine to accrue credits. Cash Box-Lower part of the machine that holds the coins that are diverted from the hopper when its full. Coin Validator- A device that accepts coins and causes the host machine to accrue credits. Coin In Optics- An assembly that ensures coins are not reveres stringed out of a machine. Degauss- Corrects video display discoloration by neutralizing the magnetic fields of a video monitor. Double Up- An extended gamble available to the player to double there winnings. EGM-Electronic Gaming Machine Hand Pay- Money paid out by an attendant rather than being dispensed by the machine. Hopper-An assembly that receives, holds and dispenses coins. Logic Board- The machines processor board. Note Acceptor- See Bill Validator Pay Table-A chart of pay amounts as a function of each winning combination and the number of credits bet. RAM- Random access memory. The working memory of a processor board. TOP BOX- An enclosed area at the top of the machine that typically contains a game display, fluorescent lamp and various optional assemblies.

III. Payouts and Cancelling Credits Cancelled Credits A cancelled credit is a payment made in cash or by cheque, when a patron redeems credits held on the gaming machine to of $50 or more. Payments less than $50 (pays up to $49 in $1 coins) are paid in coins which will be dispensed from the hopper into the coin tray. When credit is cancelled over $50 a payout voucher will print to the cashier and gaming staff take the payout to the machine. When completing a payout remember to; - Check the machine number with the house number on the payout voucher - Check the payout amount on the machine with the amount on the payout voucher - Look at the member name (if on the slip) and say their name as you approach the machine - If there is no one at the machine and you cannot identify with them reset the machine and take the payout to the cashier for the patron to come up and redeem. Once you have identified the patron ask them to sign (and put their name and member number if not on the slip) the payout slip while you reset the machine and then count the payout amount back to them as you hand it to them. If they are a visitor or reciprocal member you must put down the member number aswell. Fill out the attendant details with your details, putting your gaming licence number if you have one. A pay out over $1000 must be made in one of the following ways. Eg payout of $1100 1. $1000 cash and $100 cheque 2. $1100 cheque Under no circumstance are to pay out more than $1000 in cash. Under no circumstance is a cheque allowed to be cashed under a 24 hour period, after 24 hours they may come back and cash it at cashier. The winning patron must put their name, member number and signature

This is the payout amount. Always ensure that you check the payout amount against the machine and count the money back to the patron The total payouts for the day Voucher number- this means that this is the 237th voucher printed for the day

Short Pays A short pay is made to a patron when the gaming machine fails to register credits of an amount that a patron is entitled to. Short pays are very rare due to modern technology. Always call a duty manager if a customer requires a short pay. Any short pay must be recorded in the manual payments register (payout voucher)

IV. Hopper Refills The hopper is the container that dispensers coins to the patron when the collect button is pressed and the credit meter has less than $50.00. A hopper fill must be performed when the hopper is empty, a hopper refill payout slip will automatically print ( This will only happen if all staff have correctly recorded previous hopper fills) complete the voucher as per normal and refill the hopper with $160.00 of $1 coins and remember to record the hopper fill on the machine correctly. This recording process varies from manufacturer. All machines display instructions to follow. Care must be taken when recording a hopper fill as. Report any problems to your duty manager or supervisor immediately.

V. Gaming Machine Faults - Cancel Credits Simply reset by using you reset key. - Main Door Open / Mismatch Make sure main door is closed. Check optics in door and make sure they are properly aligned and not missing off the machine. Reset machine. - Cash Box Door Open Make sure cash box door is locked and closed. If it locked and closed just give a gentle push with your hand. - Logic Door Open Power machine off for 1 min then power back on. Reset machine using reset key. If this doesn’t work call a technician - Note Acceptor Door Open Close note acceptor door and reset using your reset key. - Belly Panel Door Open Close the belly panel door - Coin and Note Yoyo/Coin in Yoyo & Excessive Note Rejects Simply reset the machine using your reset key it will automatically clear the fault - Coin Acceptor Fault Cheek coin acceptor to make sure there is no coin stuck in there if there is remove if it is a damaged coin replace it with another coin from cashiers also give it a gentle wipe over with your finger it might have some dust in there. Reset machine using your reset key. - Coin Optic Fault Make sure optic from the coin diverter is dust free and reset machine using your reset key. - Coin Diverter Fault Remove any coins that may be stuck make sure it is dust free also check the connection to the coin diverter is plugged in correctly. - Hopper Empty Refill hopper with $160 coins and remember always record hopper fill correctly. Sign payout slip and make sure it has been witnessed. Hopper fills need to be performed by a licensed staff member or witnessed by a licensed staff member. - Hopper Jammed There may be coins blocking the hopper remove them and place back in the hopper. You also may need to give the hopper a shake. If it is a large hopper out of an aristocrat machine simply turn wheel inside the hopper until a coin drops out this will also clear the jam. If the hopper has lots of coins in it please DON’T take the coins out and put into the cash box as this is not causing the problem. If the hopper is empty and showing a jammed error and is empty call a duty manager and ask them to change the hopper level as there is a problem with the hopper level on the machine.

- Hopper Disconnected Check to make sure the hopper is pushed in properly. If it is and its still showing a fault check the pins on the back of the hopper to make sure one hasn’t broken off if there is on broken of call a technician. Also rub your fingers over the pins as there might be some dust there stopping the connection of pins. Rest machine using your reset key. - Illegal Coin Out The machine has usually over payed $. Rest the machine using your reset key. - Self Audit Error Reset machine using your reset key. - 3 Way Memory Error Power machine for minute then power back on. Reset machine with reset key. If machine still has an error call a technician. - Battery low Call a technician. - Site Controller Lock Up Power machine off for 30 seconds then power it back on. If this does not work go to cashier with machine serial number and call max gaming not a technician they then will rest it from there end. - Incomplete Power Down Power machine off for 30 second then power back on. Note Acceptor Error Make sure note head is connected properly and reset machine with your reset key. - Note Jam Open note head to see if there is a note stuck in the note acceptor if there is remove it and do not give back to customer make sure the note is not damaged if it is replace with a new one to stop further errors. Wipe the optic eyes inside of the note head with a cloth (not wet) as the rollers maybe a dirty. If there was no jam in the note head you will have to get a duty manager to open the note acceptor door and remove the stacker box as it may be stuck just above the stacker box. - Note Acceptor / Stacker Remover stacker and replace back in machine close note acceptor door and reset machine using your reset key. - Signature Error Power machine of for 1 min then power on. Reset using your reset key. If this doesn’t work call a technician. - Excess Note Rejects Open note head and wipe rollers with a damp cloth also check customers note to see if is damaged reset with your reset key. - Touch Screen Error Do a test on the touch screen which is located in the audit memory if it a aristocrat machine make sure there in not a lead hanging down at the top of the inside of the door if there is plug it back into the bracket inside of the door. Reset

the error using your rest key if this doesn’t work call a technician. - Cooling Fan Failed The machine will make a loud beeping noise and be counting the seconds down until it will automatically turn itself of. Power the machine off for 10 min then power back on if this error then occurs again call a technician. - Memory Low Detected Power machine of for 1 minute then power back on. Reset using your reset key. - Blue Screens This will occur on IGT machines power machine off then power machine back on. - Watch Dog Reset Reset machine with your reset key. When calling a machine fault in you will need the floor number which is located at the bottom right hand side of the machine. You will also need the machine serial number which is located on the side of the machine.

VI. Player Loyalty Brothers Leagues Club rewards members in a various ways. Player reward cards are inserted into the strip at the top of the gaming machine. Player reward cards are used by members to accrue bonus points and to also participate in members only promotions Bonus Points These points are accrued based on turnover. Turnover is if a person puts in $5 and wins $50 and puts that through the machine. They receive 1 point per $10 turnover. Members can redeem the points for cash trough the kiosk located at reception, purchase meals and drinks or redeem them for prizes from our show case which is located in the middle of the gaming floor. It is important that this is fully explained to our patrons to ensure they are gaining maximum benefits for being a member at Brothers Leagues Club. If you see a member without their membership card in remind them of the benefits of using their card around the club.
