TAILORMADE

Pile Locators Pile Locators are manufactured from relatively low density grades of expanded polystyrene. They offer a low cost, simple method of accurately forming guidewalls for contiguous and secant piled walls.

Re-usable guide wall shutter.

On the left a run of re-usable guide wall shuttering is positioned and below it has been struck for re-use.

The Cordek system can accommodate virtually any pile design. Curved and circular walls can easily be formed.

Precision cutting ensured a perfect fit for this circular guide wall to produce a new lift shaft at a London underground station.

Sheet Pile Infills These are also manufactured from the range of Filcor expanded polystyrene materials. The specification is determined by the application and sequence of construction.

Common applications include: ● ●

To aid pile extraction To create a flat profile for installation of a waterproof membrane or an in situ concrete wall To remove the need for backfill in confined spaces

A flat profile is easily achieved using Cordek’s pile infills.

2

Sheet pile infills are manufactured using computer controlled hot wire cutting machines and can be accurately profiled to suit any sheet pile section.

Cordek hold manufacturers’ reference data for all profiles and sizes of sheet piling. They can respond immediately to any sheet pile infill requirement.

Pilecor Pilecor is manufactured from high density Filcor EPS and is increasingly used during the construction of the connection between deep piles and basement slabs. The grade of EPS depends on the depth of the connection. See table below.

Cordek’s Pilecor is a simple yet effective system for forming a box out in a deep pile. Its use minimises break-out noise and avoids the risk of white finger.

Reinforcement cage and two-part Pilecor.

Pilecor in position either side of the reinforcement cage.

Securing straps to hold the Pilecor in place are attached to the cage.

Concrete poured to form the pile.

Excavated to basement level, Pilecor is removed and pile reinforcement exposed.
