FOREWORD BY JOST HELLMANN, KLAUS HELLMANN AND DR. THOMAS KNECHT

Dear Hellmann Family, From April 7 to 9, our 26th Worldwide Meeting took place in the beautiful city of Sitges, Spain, just 30 kilometers south of Barcelona. The Worldwide Meeting is and has always been a most important event to strengthen our global sales initiatives, cooperation with you – our valued partners – and to reinforce our relationships and commitment to working together for Hellmann’s success. And again, a great number of colleagues from all our entities and partner countries attended the meeting in 2016. The NWHQ-Team did a great job in organizing and arranging this meeting. And we would like to thank Jochen Freese, our Chief Commerical Officer and Head International Division, who led through the program in an outstanding and very professional way. It is pretty safe to say, that this was one of the most important Worldwide Meetings in recent history, considering the changes in our company, the restructuring and reorganization and the questions and, yes, also concerns colleagues around the globe have.

Consequently, we have launched a multitude of initiatives since the onset of this fiscal year to emphasize the profitability in our growth strategy. Thanks to the continued hard work and commitment of a large number of people, we feel an organization-wide confidence and conviction (re)-emerge; we will get to a point of generating optimized margins and efficiency which are so critical for the long-term success of our business. We know we will get there because of our partners and employees who have achieved so much and continue to stand for Hellmann’s past and future successes. Thank you!

Jost Hellmann

Klaus Hellmann

Dr. Thomas Knecht

As you all know, our company’s focus is shifting. While we grew over the last years in many countries and products, our focus for the next years will shift to enhancing the profitability of our business and growing profitably. Achieving sustainable, profitable growth is in the interest of our partners, of Hellmann and all other stakeholders. At the same time, it is also a significant challenge for us and requires full commitment and cooperation of everyone to achieve such goal. Only if we focus on high quality margins, lean processes and benchmark profitability will we gain the strength to take all of us to the next level globally.

MICHAEL CLAUS | MANAGING DIRECTOR HELLMANN NETWORK

The 26th Worldwide Meeting of our global Network took place April 7-9 in beautiful Sitges, Spain just 30 km south of the Catalonian capital of Barcelona. It is safe to say, this was a historic Worldwide Meeting, given that for the first time, Jost and Klaus handed over the reins to their management and remained in the background. The meeting was opened and run by Jochen Freese, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of the Air/Sea Division who did a great job leading everyone through the program. During the General Meeting session Jochen Freese and later the Air Sea and CL Board of Directors provided a comprehensive overview of where we stand today and whereto we move forward. They applauded everyone for our continued growth but also highlighted the need to improve our profitability. In fact, they explained that profitability is the most important goal set by our Executive Board. From the presentations it became clear to everyone in the room that there are

6

lots of initiatives in our strategy The Way Forward that will help us reach that goal. This and the Mediterranean ambience and lifestyle, the peacefulness of our surroundings in Sitges and the great hotel in which we were amongst ourselves made all the difference and created a great mood. The Bilateral Talks were held in the old format and it appeared to have worked out as I was told. The products, the industry solutions, ‚the way forward‘ administration, rail China, trucking Germany and Europe, all had their own booths and could welcome interested parties during the final two days. The Network HQ Team and its ‚Organizer-in-Chief‘ Sara Subirana did what they always do, they arranged a great Meeting, everything worked out as planned and I like to give kudos to my team. A big hand also to ‚Team Espana‘ who assisted us in whatever way it was needed. From the Flamenco dancers of our Welcome Dinner, with some 50 customers in attendance, to the memorable visit of the

Codorniu vineyard and a Farewell Dinner with a spectacular band, everything worked out just as planned and better. The most important result of this meeting was clearly visible when no one left the ball room during the Farewell Night until late in the evening. It is this sense of togetherness, team spirit and positive outlook which will be the key to our future success.

on his heels, gave a speech which received a standing ovation. They made clear that we remain a family owned company, with our values in place, that we are a people business and will continue together successfully into the future. With 314 delegates from some 104 countries this was the largest Worldwide Meeting in history.

This was also underscored earlier in the evening, during our Awards Ceremony when both Klaus Hellmann, who was also honored for 40 years with the company and Jost Hellmann who is with 36 years right

HELLMANN WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS POLAND RELOCATED ITS GDANSK BRANCH ANETA PACZKA | HELLMANN RASZYN

In mid-2015, the Gdansk branch of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska relocated due to a significant increase of the operating scale in the region. Currently, the Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska branch is located in the Panattoni Park Gdańsk facility. The facility owner adjusted the warehouse section just for us to handle package cargo. The warehouse section features eight docks and one ground level gate. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska in Gdańsku is one of 14 package cargo branches in the domestic network of Hellmann. Unlike other branches, the Gdańsk branch is also handling sea-going container consolidation because of its close proximity to the Gdynia harbour. The Gdańsk branch specializes in handling domestic and international package cargo, warehouse logistics and whole-vehicle transport in Poland and abroad.

„The strategy of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska is to consistently develop a package cargo network and to supply this network with volumes of shipments from our own logistic processes and volumes of packages obtained directly from our customers‘ warehouses. In 2014, we moved our Silesian branch and created a package cargo branch in Kraków. In 2015, we made the strategic decision to relocate the Gdańsk branch and expand its warehousing area. This is our response to the dynamic rise of package cargo volumes and to the increased demand of logistics customers to warehousing operations“ says Jacek Przybyłowski, President of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska.

HELLMANN WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS POLSKA CONTINUES COOPERATION WITH VIESSMANN ANETA PACZKA | HELLMANN RASZYN

In November 2015, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska signed an agreement renewing the cooperation for three years concerning the logistics and distribution services with Viessmann sp. z o.o., a leading international manufacturer of heating, industrial and cooling systems. This fact is even more worth noting because Viessmann is not inclined to signing or renewing agreements globally for such a long period (usually they are annual agreements). However, an exception was made for Hellmann Polska, and this was due to the high level of handling and service quality.

10

The cooperation with Viessmann sp. z o.o. started in mid-2013 and initially, it covered the storage and distribution of trade goods only. After a few months, following a refurbishment of the warehouse with regard to customer needs, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska took over the service parts warehousing service in April 2014. In 2015, the Raszyn warehouse was the venue of an international meeting of all Viessmann Group logistics specialists. At the request of Dr. Hans-Ullrich Förster, who is in charge of logistics at Viessmann, we organized a „training“ for their employees at the Raszyn branch. As

planned, we hosted Logistics Directors of Viessmann sp. z o.o. from all over the world consisting approximately of 20 persons, who came to tell us how the logistics services conducted by an excellent logistics operator should look like. Viessmann Group is a leading international manufacturer of heating, industrial and cooling systems. Viessmann‘s full offer includes custom solutions intended for all fields of application and all energy carriers.

WEEE DIRECTIVE: HELLMANN PROCESS MANAGEMENT OFFERS EXTENSIVE SERVICES

JOHANNA STEIN | HELLMANN PROCESS MANAGEMENT

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) requires manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment to carry the responsibility of the entire lifecycle of their products from environmentally friendly product designs, through sales to proper disposal. The core of the WEEE Directive forms the extended producer responsibility. The requirements of the WEEE Directive were implemented into the national law of each EU Member State. Despite a unified legal basis, a harmonized implementation has not been realized. These challenges have to be placed in internationally active companies in order to ensure an EU-wide compliance. The amendment in 2012 together with the associated changes encourages manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment to fulfill the extended obligations of the WEEE Directive and their national laws. This includes, in particular, the designation and nomination of a representative.

Every manufacturer of electrical and electronic equipment, who sells his products to direct end-users (both b2b and b2c) and has no place of business in the scope of the law, is obliged to appoint an authorized representative. The representative must be a natural or legal person in a Member State, who will fully take over the rights and obligations of the WEEE Directive for the manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment based abroad. The appointment of the authorized representative of the competent authority lays the foundation for the marketing of electrical and electronic equipment in the respective Member State.

ACE EXPRESS FREIGHT GETS PLATINUM AWARD MARK TRACEY | ACE EXPRESS FREIGHT

Ace Express Freight, Hellmann’s partner in Ireland, continues to grow steadily with its recent accreditation of the AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status. In addition to this, Ace Express Freight has also recently bagged the “Deloitte Irelands Best Managed Company” Platinum award. The Dublin-based company was presented with the award at a glittering Gala Awards Ceremony on Friday night at the Dublin Convention Centre. The ceremony was attended by a large crowd coming from the top companies in Ireland. The annual Gala Awards is akin to the Oscars for the best managed companies in Ireland. Bagging the elusive award is no easy task. Each company that enters is rigorously vetted in every aspect of their business by a team of experts from Deloitte, Barclays, and the Irish Management Institute. From a large number of entries, only 25 companies get awarded the title “Irelands Best Managed Company” each year. What makes this year’s award unique for Ace Express is that this is the 7th consecutive year for them to receive such prestigious award and because of this, they are moving into a very elite Platinum Standard. Ace Express Freight is the only freight company in Ireland to achieve this prestigious award. The company was first established by Philip Tracey, a local of North County Dublin, and his wife, Julie, 27 years ago. Since that time, the company has grown at a steady pace to become one of the leading employers in North County Dublin. The company has a staff of 105

people directly employed, and more than twice as many employed as subcontractors who mostly reside in North County Dublin. The company also added an additional 10,000 square meters of purpose-built Warehousing to their portfolio and now operates in excess of 30,000 square meters of warehousing in the greater Dublin area. Managing Director Philip Tracey was quick to point out that the award is for the company rather than for any one individual, and is a great moral boost for the staff and subcontractors to receive this recognition for the high levels of service and dedication that each and every member provides each day. Looking towards the future, Philip Tracey was equally optimistic as he strongly believes that his company will continue to grow and prosper in these challenging times. At Ace Express Freight, our tag line is “when service is important”. This statement, however, has to be backed up by action and a passion to get the job done right each and every time. We have both the staff and resources in place and we’re working with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, which has a partnership network of over 450 offices in more than 150 countries. At any rate, we have the ability to provide the highest levels of service Worldwide.

HELLMANN WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA „CRUISES“ WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES LTD MARIEKE FEATONBY | HELLMANN MELBOURNE

Hellmann Cruise Ship Logistics has implemented new Scrubber unit equipment for many of the Royal Caribbean Cruise ships in Sydney, Vancouver and Miami, and have set up purpose-built warehouses to accommodate them. We have dedicated teams to ensure that set deadlines are met and accommodate the most „unusual“ shaped freight as well as being on call 24 hours a day to ensure we meet tight deadlines to avoid the ships having any downtime or missing particular items for the equipment, without disturbing passengers during their „actual“ cruise time. Marine diesel engines, prime movers for almost all merchant ships, may either burn more expensive and cleaner fuels to comply with the increasingly severe exhaust gas emission controls, or continue to burn cheaper fuels and rely on a scrubber unit to clean up exhaust gas emissions. Broadly speaking, the latter is the choice of ship owners and operators. Ships operating must burn fuel containing less than 0.1 percent sulfur. Scrubber units are cleverly retrofitted while the ship is in continuous service. Unusually, the compact design of the scrubber demanded no extra space to be taken up as the unit replaced the ship’s exhaust silencer.

16

Under penalty policies, cruise lines are subject to steep fines if they fail to comply with the new limit. The statutory maximum is $25,000 per day, per violation; there were no minimum fines mentioned in the policy for Royal Caribbean which runs 26 vessels with another 17 on order equating to $650,000 per day. Recently in February, six scrubber units were flown from Helsinki, Finland to Sydney arranged by Hellmann Cruise Logistics, then sent via road to Melbourne where they waited until the vessel called „The Radiance of the Sea“ berthed at Station Pier Melbourne. Each unit weighs approximately 1 ton while the larger funnel piece weighs almost 2 tons. Damien Smallacombe of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Melbourne attended the delivery and was liaising regularly with the ship’s agent and the Royal Caribbean Cruises representatives. During the transport, there was an initial moment of panic when it was discovered that our trucks were over-height by a meter at the port entrance. After some frantic running around, we found out that the port exit was high enough to continue transporting the load. Thus, with a bit of impromptu traffic control, we ended up transporting the load safely.

RESTRUCTURINGTHE PRODUCT CONTRACT LOGISTICS JANNA FELDMANN | HELLMANN CONTRACT LOGISTICS

18

Taking into account the strategy and organizational changes that occurred at the Executive Board in the last few months, it can be recalled that contract logistics was placed under the leadership of Felix Scherberich to pave the way for the changes and restructuring measures for the product.

(CCO Contract Logistics Global) will act as a link among the different countries, regions, and verticals. David Ojinnaka will devote himself on the topics of Global Product Management, Controlling & PMO.

The pioneer of the new structure is the competence center model, which has already been proven in the past as an essential pillar of the global contract logistics activities. In the future, the global contract logistics business in the five regions- Germany, Europe, MENASA (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia), Asia / Oceania and Americaswill be divided. Each region shall be headed by a manager who will report directly to Felix Scherberich. The individual countries within these regions shall continue to be managed by the CLC-Managers of each respective organization.

Another change is that under each region, the departments „Business Development & Key Account Management“, „Product Management & Control“ and „Solutions & Re-engineering“ will be established. Employees from these areas will support their colleagues in the various country organizations in the future. The BISS team headed by Bernhard Menke will undertake further implementation of the IT side, who will report to Felix Scherberich to continue to ensure a high degree of flexibility and short reaction times in our everyday business.

While Stefan Porcher and Detlev Hornhues are responsible for Germany as a region, Marc Wijnen acts as the head of the rest of the European countries. Simon Reah is accountable for the MENASA region, while Peter Barnesby will be the person in charge for Asia, Australia and New Zealand in the future. The region Americas under Jack King remains in its country breakdown as before. In order to further expand and ensure the best possible cooperation particularly in the sales area, Ralf Thiese

„The product contract logistics has grown rapidly in recent years. To further promote this positive development while managing upcoming challenges successfully, we have fundamentally changed our existing Contract Logistics structure. In this process, all relevant stakeholders were taken into account. This ensures that everyone involved will be highly motivated to continue contributing to our success,“ said Felix Scherberich, Global Contract Logistics CEO.

countries, we are also ready to set up dedicated high-volume operations in Spain. At the moment, we are working to be taken into account in large tenders that allow us to open new single user warehouses.

Janna Feldmann: Roberto, you’re working at Hellmann in Madrid since February 2015. What are your functions as Manager of Contract Logistics in Spain?

Janna Feldmann: How is Hellmann represented in Spain?

Roberto Aguado: Yes, I joined Hellmann just a year ago. My mission as head of the CLC division is to develop our business in the Spanish market and to implement profitable projects that make us a recognized player in the Iberian scenario. The logistics sector in Spain is highly concentrated. Our strategy is based on differentiation, tailor-made solutions, and personal customer service. I think medium-sized companies that are looking for value-added solutions might be a good opportunity for us. For these customers, the biggest players often do not offer them these kinds of requirements. Moreover, I think that through the cumulative Hellmann contract logistics experience and due to the fact that we are working closely with colleagues from other European

Roberto Aguado: In the CLC division, we have platforms in Madrid and Barcelona. Through our agreement with our partner in national distribution, we also have logistic capacity in other regions of Spain. The sum of all our products – Sea freight, Air freight, Road and Contract Logistics - create an added value for the customers. Today, companies are looking for a solution to manage their supply chain from end to end and I really believe that Hellmann, as an integrator, can provide this kind of solution. Janna Feldmann: Who are your biggest customers? Can you tell us something about them? Roberto Aguado: There are several really interesting customers. One of them is Deichmann, a leading shoe retailer, based in Germany. One

HELLMANN CONRACT LOGISTICS IN SPAIN year ago, they wanted to launch the e-shop for Spain and Portugal and asked us to take care of the logistics part. From the beginning, the relationship and partnership were very good. Actually, we are doing the inbound of the goods, storage, picking and packaging, and returns for Spain and Portugal. Working with Deichmann in the e-shop gives us the chance to get a better insight into the B2C e-business and to learn about the drivers that affect the volume. For example, now we know that after a rainy weekend we receive more orders than after a sunny day and we know what “Black Friday” means in terms of the number of orders we have to prepare. Another interesting customer is BULLBOAT, a Spanish importer and Apple-authorized reseller for technology accessory brands such as Fitbit, Apple, Sphero, Mophie, among others. They import all their products from USA to Spain. We store the goods and are in charge for picking and packaging, and delivering them to the biggest retailers like Amazon, FNAC, El Corte Inglés, etc. BULLBOAT has a very stressful supply chain where time for response is critical. On an average, we are serving the orders from customers 24 hours a day. Working under pressure is challenging, but it gives us the chance to become an expert for this kind of solutions. Janna Feldmann: How should Spanish customers be treated? Are there any specialties while doing business with them?

Roberto Aguado: I like my job so much because of different things. Without any doubt, my relationship with my colleagues from other countries is excellent. Getting the chance to know what is happening in other markets, learning from them and sharing my experience from Spain is always a pleasure. In our multicultural teams, all members are very professional and they know about the particularities of the business in their countries. Sharing this knowledge is a great chance for us to learn from each other. Janna Feldmann: What are your expectations and wishes for the future? Roberto Aguado: The future is something we have to create with our daily job. We are working to consolidate our actual business to reinforce our brand in the market and to win new projects. Our history in the past is a great pillar to build our future, but we need to communicate our values, differentiators and capabilities to our potential customers to obtain their confidence and to be recognized as a leader in the supply chain solution market. We are on the right way and with the help of the Hellmann family, we can do it! Janna Feldmann: I wish you success for reaching your goals and thank you very much for the interview.

Roberto Aguado: Well, not in a different way than other European customers. Today, in a globalized world, values and features such as flexibility, visibility, technology and efficiency are absolutely necessary. Companies are facing big challenges because they purchase in one part of the world, produce in another, and sell in a different market. Having a dynamic and transparent supply chain is mandatory. Janna Feldmann: Hellmann is an international company where you’re in touch with people from different countries. What experiences did you gain while working with colleagues from abroad?

INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME MILENA BELEDELLI | GLOBAL HR February was an exciting month for the participants of the International Logistics Management & Leadership Program (ILM), who had their third module in one of our main Contract Logistics Centers (CLC) in Dubai, UAE. The module was kicked-off with a self-reflection session initiated by the Global Learning & Development Team wherein the group was asked to evaluate themselves on subjects such as work life balance, relationships, career development and continual learning considering that they are already halfway through the program. Thereafter, Professor Nicholas Boone assessed the participants on a mini dry run as a recap from the knowledge gained during the second module that transpired in Miami in July 2015. During the second module in Miami, the group was allocated three projects in which they worked on virtually over the past 6 months. The first week in Dubai saw the participants presenting the findings of their projects on topics such as “Indicator based Risk Management for Existing Customers” supported by Daniela Dunker - Global Sales Controlling, “Career Path within Sales” supported by Joanne Handley - Global Learning & Development and “Social Media Strategy” supported by Kirsten Willenborg - Marketing. The presentations were evaluated by

22

Madhav Kurup - CEO Middle East & South Asia, Frank Liebelt – Global CPO, Jochen Freese - Global CCO, Nicholas Boone, and the Global Learning & Development Team. Madhav Kurup has also played a role as a key note speaker, giving insights into Hellmann’s strategy and success in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the planned reorganization of the South East Asia sub region. After Madhav’s inspiring presentation, the group were joined by an external key note speaker Mohsen Ahmad, Vice President for Logistics at Dubai South. Mohsen updated the group on the current status of Dubai South and explained more about the Dubai Logistics Corridor, an important connection between the Jebel Ali Port and the Al Maktoum International Airport. Still during their first week in Dubai, Professor Nicholas Boone introduced the different market analysis tools to the group. The group also had the opportunity to visit our warehouses in Dubai namely Hellmann Calipar Healthcare Logistics and Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive (Ford Motor Company Parts Distribution Center). The first week was finalized with Mark Blackmore’s (Lammore Consulting) discussion on Finance and Performance Management. The second week in Dubai started with a process mapping simulation with a guest professor from the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL), Car-

los Jahn. We were also once again lucky to have another important key note speaker Moritz Hartmann, General Manager Middle East at Roche Diagnostics, one of our most important clients for Hellmann Calipar Healthcare. Moritz brought to our attention the importance of cultural understanding and climate specifications when doing business in the Middle East as well as why Hellmann was the partner of choice for Roche in the region. Professor Frank Giesa followed up the input from previous modules by delving deeper into Warehouse Management and switching the roles of the participants into the role of teachers by asking the participants to teach each other on various warehouse topics including picking preparation and ABC analysis. To consolidate the learning over the module, the group participated in a Continuous Improvement Process Workshop delivered by Franziska Korschanowski – Learning & Development and CIP Coach and Simon Reah - CLC Director Middle East,

North Africa and South Asia. The workshop was a mix between continual improvement tools that help to simplify and avoid mistakes in the workplace as well as a simulation of a warehouse process, in which the participants had to use CIP techniques to improve their results over 3 different simulations. We would like to thank the Hellman Middle East team for their time and energy during the module, especially Madhav Kurup, Simon Reah, Anton Grebener, Franziska Korschanowski, Eric Ten Kate, Cindy Engelbart, Ahmedyar Qazi, Shine Sebastian and Piyaporn Lu-Prasong. After a successful module in Dubai, the next ILM module will be held in August this year and will focus on consolidating their knowledge through leadership, strategy and the preparation for the group’s final exam, where they will present an individual project based on their work area and business needs.

A PEEK AT THE IT SURVEY AS VOTED! BÄRBEL KONRAD | GLOBAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)

We all work every day in an environment which is dominated by IT as seen in the majority of our logistical processes being technically registered and recorded. To put this under closer scrutiny, we have generated an IT survey which was launched in Autumn of 2015. One of the frequently used tools when gathering employee opinions is by the use of polls. Through this, a company can find out what employees expect in a much faster and more detailed way. Spending five minutes for a survey isn’t really much of an effort on the part of employees. This is equally the same with your participation for the global IT Survey initiated by Sami Awad-Hartmann from the Lead Global Information Systems.

From September 7 to 18, 2015, a total of 9,000 employees worldwide were asked to take part in this IT survey. The survey consisted of more than 60 statements focusing on communication and team work, including workplaces tailored to the needs of the employees, which were rated from a scale of 1 to 5. One referring to “completely agree” and five as “disagree”. More than 2,700 IT employees have participated in the survey, which corresponds to a 31% participation rate. See graphic below as reference.

We were interested in knowing more about you, and how satisfied you are with the information technology in your workplace. The questions were focused on the hardware and software aspects with the support of our IT Department.

We chose some of the following categories because they make it possible for an in-depth analysis and show us specific areas where we can improve.

WHAT WAS IT ABOUT AND WHO PARTICIPATED?

3. IT-SEVICE DESK UND SITE-SERVICE

After compiling the results, we analyzed them in detail and formulated objectives. Many colleagues have made known that they are often faced with the poor stability and speed of their systems. The reasons here are diverse and may vary from country to country, including between branches. Especially in the field of air / sea, the usability of the system is being worked upon to create a new user-friendly interface for the users. For the sales department, the so-called Corporate Customer Dashboard was developed last year. This mobile application containing customer and company data allows the sales employees to quickly access customer information regarding recent transactions, contacts, among others, via mobile. The user-friendliness when accessing each of the programs will be enhanced in the future by the so-called “Single Sign On”. Should you be interested in knowing the other results of the survey, please visit our blog on the Intranet → Collaboration → Community GIS – Global Information Systems→ Result IT Survey 2015.

Service Desk Performance The results show that the readiness of the Service Desk & Site Service in terms of service and support for their colleagues is well-regarded

DUESSELDORF OR DHAKA – WHAT MATTERS IS IT’S HELLMANN KERSTIN VENHOVEN | HELLMANN FASHION LOGISTICS

The principle of Hellmann truck lettering works very well. In fact, it works anywhere. These images from Bangladesh prove it. Even our colleagues from the Hellmann Branch in Dhaka have such letterings on the vehicles - made in Hellmann colors of course. Dhaka is a significant base for Hellmann Fashion Logistics. With our own trucks, we avoid an otherwise big problem. In Dhaka and surrounding areas, it is quite hard for textile suppliers to load a 20’ or 40’ container at the manufacturing site due to poor infrastructures. In order to bring the goods to the port of Chittagong, an open platform truck is commonly used, which is not really the most optimal kind of transport. With our trucks, we have a much better option.

HELLMANN AFRICA: #PROJECTWATERDROP

28

TIFFANY FERNANDES | HELLMANN JOHANNESBURG

Water, the prime essence of life, is something we need to survive, and we acquire it via rivers, dams, underground sources and a convoy of massive trucks. Yes, you read that correctly. As South Africa is gripped by its worst drought in 30 years, the effects are being felt not only by farmers and businesses, but also by numerous communities across the nation. As South Africans, we know that to survive disaster or overcome adversity, we must come together and lend a helping hand - which is exactly what Hellmann Worldwide Logistics set out to do. Jacaranda FM launched #ProjectWaterDrop in a bid to gather and distribute water to those who need it most, and we quickly put up our hands to assist. „Instead of just observing and listening to the plight of many of our people in drought stricken areas in our country, we chose to do something about it,“ said Michael Barber, Sub Saharan Africa Sales Director. „We mobilized our trucking fleet to assist with the transportation to drought stricken areas. If another opportunity had to arise, we would not hesitate to help where we can.“ Hellmann Africa put their plan of action into work and sent out six trucks to get the water flowing. Over

2 00 000 litres of water was moved and delivered to Bethlehem and Steynsrus in the Free State, as well as Thabazimbi in Limpopo. The team consisting of Wikus Van Der Walt (General Manager: Transport), Ben Korfmann (On site supervisor) and our drivers Kedrick Bessa, Aurthur Gijimani, Moses Matavire, Edwin Ziyenda and Patrick Chikwayi, worked tirelessly for two days in the baking heat to get the job done. The response to #ProjectWaterDrop was overwhelming, which even had Jacaranda running out of space to store the water. The quick assistance of Hellmann Africa managed to bring relief to thousands. Of course, there is still more work to be done, and Hellmann Africa will be ready to put in the hours and help fellow South Africans wherever possible. There are far too many people unaware of the scale of the problem- people with easy access to ice cold water from the office fridge or having refreshing showers to beat the midday heat. All while thousands are in a daily fight against dehydration. Hellmann Africa urges each and every South African to use water wisely and follow their approach - go beyond simply sparing a thought for those mostly affected by the drought, as a small act from each person can quickly drive big change.

HELLMANN MEXICO – CUSTOMER EVENT LUIS CARLOS MEILLON | HELLMANN MEXICO

Hard work, dedication and passion are the words to describe how 2015 was for Hellmann Mexico. Bringing new customers on board & implementing new additional businesses from the existing ones, hiring new colleagues, training & empowering our team, restructuring & expending our organization were some of the challenges we faced to keep Hellman being the best logistics partner of choice for our clients. At the end of 2015, we took the opportunity to thank our customers during a customer event in three different cities - Mexico City, Queretaro and Guadalajara where we put focus on all our customers. It is quite well known that we, in Mexico, not only work hard, but also love to have fun and enjoy ourselves, and that is why we decided to give our customers a true gesture of appreciation and gratitude for all the confidence and trust that they have shown our organization. Exiting raffles & casino games, touching speeches, delicious snacks, exotic drinks, pleasing music, subtle decoration and nice places were just among the few activities deemed fit for the 3 unique scenarios where we spent such lovely nights with our guests of honor who are our customers namely Sears, Valeo, DuPont, Playmobil, Heuft, Hamilton Beach, BIC, Mc Graw, Puma, Waldos, Kostal, Kellogg’s, CNH, Tetra Pak, Biticino, Tremec, Dana, Honda, Remy, Woco, Sanmina-SCI, Zoltek,

Continental, Jabil, ZF, USI, Flextronics, Saniker, TBC, Driscolls, Hershey, Dondaldson, Thyssenkrupp Bilstein, among others. These three nights also became a great opportunity for getting to know more about our customers, not only in terms of business, but also up close and personal. It was the perfect time for sincere talks, sharing great moments, and of course, as the main reason for the event, to say thank you for letting us be part of their success!

VISIT FROM ETHOPIA

Meaza Bruck, Jörg Hassler, Ribka Tesema

JÖRG HASSLER | HELLMANN OSNABRUECK

At the end of January, Jörg Hassler welcomed two female colleagues from our Ethiopian Partner, Panafric Global Plc, for the Hellogic training in Osnabrück. The two women traveled from Addis Ababa via Frankfurt to Münster / Osnabrück airport, where they were picked up by Mr Hassler. As advised to pack a warm coat, the colleagues came prepared for the German winter. The purpose of the visit was for the Hellogic Manifest System training in the field of airfreight export to dispatch future shipments to our customer, Hennes & Mauritz, in accordance with the SOP. In the Manifest System training, participants were trained how to create entries for the Master and House Air Waybills (AWB). Part of the training also included the transport plan as well as the updating of packing lists. The briefing on the extensive SOP will take place at a later date to be administered by Lydia Cheung (Hong Kong). On Thursday, the day ended with a dinner at the hotel Advena Hohenzollern.

HERE‘S A SPECIAL „FAMILY“ -THOUGHT: Ribka Tesema’s brother lives in Norway and she hasn’t seen him for more than 16 years. To make the story short, her brother booked a flight from Oslo to Amsterdam and then travelled by train to Osnabrück. On Saturday, Ribka Tesema was able to hold her brother in her arms again.

The Hellogic Manifest System allows the recording of rudimentary shipment data such as sender and receiver, number of packages and weight, as well as data like AWB and flight number. Unlike Hellogic Suite, there is no connection to the accounting systems and therefore, incoming and outgoing invoices are not created. The transfer of data to the receiving agent is possible with both systems.

The creation of export shipments was continued on Friday on a „hands on“ training basis. It has once again proven that practical training cannot be replaced. After each attempt to create a shipment, the colleagues became more and more confident when it comes to creating shipments. The training ended on Friday afternoon.
