For the latter, it years ago I started using the gift wrapping is not that they don’t want to give as a time to pray for the person who was presents; it is that they want to getting the present. “Survival of the holidays” is the way we might describe the apprehensions and feelings of those who have lost loved ones in the past year. Everyone in our congregation needs to be particularly sensitive during this holiday season and realize the emotions and memories that loved ones might be experiencing. Perhaps a caring Stephen Minister could help during this difficult time. Call Pastor Brent (512 261-6331) for more information.

Outreach Ministries -- Special Christmas Offering Dear TLC Family and Friends:

December 2016

As we enter the Advent season, we focus on God‘s greatest gift to us – His Son, Jesus Christ. During His life on earth, Jesus demonstrated the more perfect way of loving and reaching out to the needy all around Him. He commanded us to follow His example and reach out to those around us. Just before He left this earth, He enlarged that circle of reaching out to include the entire world. You will shortly be receiving in the mail a Special Offering card and return envelope for your gift, as well as our current directory of supported missions and ministries. We ask that you prayerfully consider your donation. Our church is actively reaching out to the entire circle. We are doing this in three ways: Local Outreach – support for and involvement in activities in the Lake Travis area. Area Outreach – support for ministry activities in Austin and the surrounding communities. Global Outreach – support for men and women who have received the call as missionaries and other ministry activities in Texas, our nation and around the world. Annual funding for these ministries comes primarily from the Special Offerings at Christmas and Easter, with additional specific ministry appeals made during the year. Our 2017 goal for these Special Offerings is $250,000. As our community grows, the needs and opportunities for outreach ministries grow as well. Any funds we receive over and above our goal will be allocated to local and area ministry needs. May the Lord richly bless your family during the Advent Season. May He use you and our church in reaching out to accomplish His Kingdom’s work in Lakeway, the Greater Austin area and around the world.

Update on C3 Dear Friends: As we looked at the calendar, the current Christian Compassion Center ("C3") all-time high activity level, fits so well in the Thanksgiving season and is worthy of note. Slated for delivery early next week, we are moving five (5) truckloads of World Vision donations to C3 as follows:

Mark & Gaytha Braun Janice Davis Samantha Del Rosario, Theodore, Clara, Angela Michael Evans & Leah Arentz

Certainteed Shingles: 2 truck loads to Cornerstone Ministries-Ft. Worth 1 truck load to Austin Disaster Relief Network Disney Toys: 1 truck load coming to Austin distribution space, donated to C3 by Dirk Dozier. Local distribution to be made during the next 3 weeks. Disaster Relief Goods: 1 truck load to Austin Disaster Relief Network

Glenn & Monica Gibson, Grant, Cole

This vividly demonstrates the type potential that a Truckload Donation Ministry holds for the expansion of C3's outreach capability. Our 2017 outlook includes a real effort to move in this direction, requiring only funding, space and faith.
