HOLIDAY HIGHL IGHTS Trail of Lights: For over 20 years Great Bend has been shining brightly

with its renowned Trail of Lights Holiday display. The animated lights wind through the community starting at Brit Spaugh Park then to Veteran’s Memorial Park for the Twelve Days of Christmas. See the Christmas Nativity at K-96 & 10th Street, head south to the Historical Village Lights display and back to Jack-Kilby Square to see the downtown and beautiful Mayor’s Tree! (see additional page in brochure for the map)

Visit with Santa & See Santa’s Around the World: The Real Santa is joining forces with the 22 Beautiful Life Size Wax International Santa’s (As featured on A&E Networks “Ultimate Holiday Town USA” in 2003). Santa’s Around the World opens on November 23rd, but Santa comes to town during the parade so make plans to visit him on the 24th or after. Hours are Thursdays & Fridays 4-7 pm, Saturdays 1-6 pm and Sundays 1-5 pm at 1223 Main Street.

Ghosts of Christmas Past: Join the Barton County Historical Society on December 9th for the Annual Open House with decorations, entrainment, refreshments and displays. Visit Santa, ride the train, listen to holiday songs and see model trains all to celebrate the season! 1-4 pm. 85 S. 281 Hwy.

FREE Ice Skating in Jack-Kilby Square: Come down to Jack-Kilby

Square to experience true holiday spirit with the outdoor skating rink! Great Bend’s rink is unique because it’s not real ice, however any ice skates can be used and are available to borrow from the rink trailer during operating hours. Enjoy a tour through the beautifully decorated trees and displays at the Shafer Gallery on the Barton College campus. 245 NE 30th Rd 2:30 pm Downtown Shopping and Christmas Craft Mall: 1709 Main Street. Enjoy shopping for everything from candles to ornaments, clothing to hand made Santas, Kansas products to jewelry, and much more. 4:00 pm Courthouse Square/Downtown Attractions: See the Kansas Quilt Walk, over-sized decorated birdhouses, and go ice skating on the synthetic skating rink in the Courthouse Square. 4:30pm Santas Around the World: 1221 Main Street. These life sized Santa from around the world are locally crafted and breathtakingly beautiful. 6:00pm Eat and be Merry! A variety of dining options are available to you on our Dining page including those small locally owned favorites. 6:45pm Spend the evening on touring the Trail of Lights.
