FONTANOT BRINGS OUT A LINE OF RAILINGS FOR “DO-IT-YOURSELF” ENTHUSIASTS.
Do you want to create a railing to fit your home according to your tastes and needs? Fontanot produces the accessories to make 3 types of railing diversified in design, materials, treatments and technical solutions. The components with special functions, once assembled, allow constructing railings for masonry stairs as well as balustrades for mezzanines, balconies, terraces or walkways that require a safety railing. The components are easy to assemble, no special tools are required and no parts need to be welded. All the railings are designed in Italy by the Fontanot Research Center for industrial production; the INOX20 railings are made in China according to Fontanot design and quality. The carefully selected materials and treatments meet the application requirements in terms of robustness and durability and are diversified by product lines. Every detail has been designed in compliance with the regulations in force regarding safety and environmental compatibility in order to guarantee an excellent end result that will satisfy the needs of demanding customers watchful of superior quality.

INOX20 The INOX20 railings are entirely made of AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish. They are characterized by round balusters joined together with 5 parallel tubes. The balusters include 5 feed-through tube holders and can be installed directly on the floor or to the side of the floor; they should be selected based on where they will be positioned. There are two baluster sizes: a short one (3’1 13/16”) for installation on the floor or a taller one (3’9 1/16”) for installation on the side. The baluster kits contain the hardware to join them to the handrail with the corresponding rivets. The balusters to be fastened on the floor also include plate covers. The handrail comes in 4’11 1/16” or 6’6 3/4” sections and can be joined directly to the balusters or a sleeve-shaped connector can be used. The individual handrail segments can be joined with 3 different types of joints. The handrail can be fastened to the wall with a choice of two types of support.

NIK The NIK railings are characterized by round silver-colored anodized aluminium three-grooved balusters. The balusters are joined with stainless steel cables and can be installed directly on the floor or to the side of the floor with special hardware. There are two baluster sizes: a short one (2’11 7/16”) for installation on the floor or a taller one (3’11 1/4”) for lateral installation. The handrail is made of wood and comes in 3’11 1/4” sections. In corners or where the slope changes, the wooden handrail segments are joined with silver-painted metal ball joints. The handrail can be mounted to the wall with metal supports. For curved configurations use the handrail of the LAN railing in shapeable simulated wood PVC with corresponding accessories. All hardware connectors are made of silver-painted metal.

LAN The LAN railings are characterized by round white-painted steel balusters. The balusters can be installed directly on the floor or to the side of the floor with special connectors. There are two baluster sizes: a short one (3’3/16”) for installation on the floor or a taller one (4’7/16”) for installation on the side. For staircase railings, install a short baluster and a long baluster on each tread, cutting the long one to suit the installation requirements. You can choose from the NIK wooden handrail or the LAN shapeable simulated wood PVC handrail with an aluminium core that can be adapted to various configurations, straight or curved. The handrail can be fastened to the wall using white-painted metal supports.

guide to selection ADVICE ON CHOOSING THE RAILINGS AND THEIR INSTALLATION WHERE TO INSTALL STAINLESS STEEL RAILINGS In choosing the components, bear in mind the environment where the railing will be installed. If you prefer using AISI 304 steel with a satin finish (INOX20) outdoors, you should strictly observe the maintenance periods. If installing indoors, you can use AISI 304 steel with a satin finish (INOX20).
REGULATIONS To ensure that your installation complies with the standards, find out which local and national regulations apply to the intended use (private, office, shops, etc.). Carry out the installation in a workmanlike manner using appropriate tools.
CLEANING Use plenty of water and soap for cleaning and dry thoroughly to prevent haloes from forming, caused by the limestone contained in water. We advise you to clean the INOX20 railings with products specifically for stainless steel about once a year for outdoor installations and about every three years for indoor installations. For installations in environments subject to heavy pollution or near the sea, clean every 4-6 months with products specifically for stainless steel.

materials THE RAILINGS ARE MADE USING MATERIALS THAT THANKS TO THEIR PARTICULAR CHARACTERISTICS ALLOW ADAPTING THE INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS TO THE VARIOUS ENIVIRONMENTS IN WHICH THEY WILL BE INSTALLED. STAINLESS STEEL RAILINGS The INOX20 are made of AISI 304 steel. This is the most widely used stainless steel in the world and is used to make most cutlery, sinks and pots and pans. All stainless steels are alloys based on iron, carbon, chromium, and elements such as nickel, molybdenum and manganese. Different percentages of these elements determine the resistance to atmospheric agents. This resistance is based on the properties of these materials, which spontaneously form a surface film of chromium oxide when coming into contact with air.
LAN The structural components (balusters) are made of steel and are subjected to a particular coating process with epoxy powders dried at high temperatures. This treatment guarantees superior performance in color uniformity and resistance to abrasions. The shapeable PVC handrail with aluminium core can be bent during installation to achieve a minimum radius of curvature of 17 11/16” yet guaranteeing the necessary stability and symmetry.
NIK The structural components (balusters) are made of anodized aluminum, a noble material known for its particular resistance to oxidation yet maintaining its lightweight and durability characteristics.

Note *Installation executed installing a reinforcing bar every 3’ 3 3/8” of railing. The structural resistance can be increased by reducing the distance between the balusters. The structural resistance test to verify the conformity to the regulations of the D.M, Infrastructures 14/01/2008 and to the regulations of the UNI EN 1991-1-1 (EUROCODICE 1) norm, were carried out in Italy in the laboratories of Istituto Giordano licensed SIT/SINCERT and authorized by the Ministero per le Infrastrutture to carry out tests and emit test certifications on construction materials.
