General Description Thank you very much for your special patronage of LG air conditioners. Keeping pace with developments in global environment policies, the company has developed a new refrigerant (R-410a) to replace Freon gas (R22), ahead of it being banned due to its environmentally - damaging greenhouse effects. This is our environment-friendly policy protecting the environment for the future. LG’s "Floor Standing" is the indoor unit which is used as luxury domestic or commercial appliance and is used in the places like restaurant, store or meeting room. This unit has good design and is equipped with many special features. It comes in different color to suits the interior design and maintains the harmony of the room.Installation of floor standing unit is easy and it has very low operating noise.Apart from that it has very special features such as child lock, neuro fuzzy control logic, dual plasma filter. In installation field we can use this unit as the duct system also which makes it more dynamic and diversified than other units. It has wide capacity range from 28~72kBtu/h. A lot of information regarding the design and installation of this system is provided in this publication. This new products series contains data on the same pattern. Please utilize all the information for conducting your business efficiently. Features and Benefits

Child Lock Function: - This function prevents children or others from tampering with the control buttons on the unit. It is then controlled by the remote controller. - All the buttons on indoor display panel will be locked. - The unit will be controlled only by remote controller.

Cooling Heating and Fan Operation(for heat pump): - LG Floor Standing type air conditioners can provide cooling, heating and fan operation. In the cooling mode, it cools the air with an operation range of 16~30°C. In the heating mode, it heats the air with an operation range of 16~30°C. In the fan operation mode, only indoor fan at the selected speed will run, outdoor fan and compressor will be off.

Electric Heater: - Electric Heater can be used to provide heat in addition to refrigerant cycle heat. It also provide and quick heating. It can also work as a stand alone heater with only fan operation.

Auto Swing: - Hot or cold air can be evenly distributed throughout the room as the auto swing function blows air in 2 or 4 directions.

7-Hour On/Off Timer: - This function allows you to set the timer for one or up to seven hours.

Duct Operation(72k Btu/h Model): - Depending on the room size and shape, if the unit is installed in a Duct-type manner you are able to cool more air at the same time to save energy.

Auto Restart Operation : - Whenever there is an electricity failure to the unit, and after resumption of the power, unit will start in the same mode prior to the power failure. Memorized condition are on/off condition, operting mode (cooling/heating), set temperature and fan speed. The unit will memorize the above conditions and start with same memorized condition.

Hot Start Function : - During starting of the unit in the heating mode it prevents cold air blown from the unit. It starts the indoor fan only after indoor unit pipe temperature reaches a preset value(28°C). When indoor unit pipe temperature has reached 28°C, then for initial 1 minute the indoor fan runs at low speed and after that at the set fan speed.

Defrost / Deicing : - In the heating mode, it prevents the ice formation on the outdoor unit. The heating cycle is reversed to the cooling cycle to defrost the evaporator pipe of the outdoor unit. While defrost cycle, the compressor is on and indoor fan, outdoor fan and 4-way valve are off.

Soft Dry Operation : - During Soft Dry Operation, the compressor ON temperature is the setting temperature plus 2°C, the compressor OFF temperature is the setting temperature minus 1°C. When the room temperature rises over the compressor ON temperature, the operation mode is switched to the Cooling mode. When the room temperature falls between the compressor ON temperature and OFF temperature, the operation mode is switched to the Soft Dry Operation.

9. Selection Procedure Step 1. Determine cooling load requirements at design conditions. Required load conditions: Required cooling capacity (TC) .......................26,000 Btu/h Sensible capacity (SHC) .................................18,500 Btu/h Temperature air entering outdoor unit ............95°F Temperature air entering indoor unit ...............80°F DB/67°F WB DB — dry bulb temperature WB — wet bulb temperature Step 2. Select unit based on required cooling capacity. Based on Total Cooling Capacity, choose suitable model from the specification table. The model with a net capacity of 27,800 Btu/h cooling is selected. The system consists of a AP-Z286RC0[P03AH SR0]. Verify the unit performance at the given conditions in accordance with step 3. Step 3. Determine if system selected satisfies cooling requirements. Enter cooling capacities table on page 21 at high speed and 95 F outdoor entering air temperature with 80 F DB/67 F WB indoor entering air temperature. Total cooling capacity = 27,800 Btu/h, Sensible capacity=20,300 Btu/h To find capacity at intermediate conditions not in the table ; Interpolation should be used when design conditions are between two numbers that are in the capacity table. Extra-polation is not recommended. If the interconnecting piping length is more than 7.5m ; Find the capacity(%) at that particular interconnecting piping length from the coefficient of capacity change graph, on page 23. Multiply cofficient factor with Total Cooling Capacity and Sensible Capacity. Ex: At 15m interconnecting piping length, from coefficient of capacity change graph, cofficient factor is 0.96.

14. Installation 14.1 Select the best location 14.1.1 Indoor Unit • There should not be any heat source or steam near the unit. • There should not be any obstacles to the air circulation. • There should be easy provision of condensate drain. • Taking into account the noise prevention criteria, spot the installation. • Keep proper distance of the unit from ceiling, fence, walls and other obstacles as shown figure. • The indoor unit must have the maintenance space around.

14.1.2 Outdoor Unit • If an roof is built over the unit to prevent direct sunlight or rain exposure, make sure that heat radiation from the condenser is not restricted. • Do not place animals and plants in the path of the warm air. • Take the air conditioner weight into account and select a place where noise and vibration are minimum. • Select a place so that the warm air and noise from the air conditioner do not disturb neighbors. • Rooftop Installations : If the outdoor unit is installed on a roof structure, be sure to level the unit. Ensure the roof structure and anchoring method are adequate for the unit location. Consult local codes regarding rooftop mounting.

14.2 Installation of Indoor unit and outdoor unit

1. The mounting floor should be strong and solid enough to prevent it from vibration.

2. Drill the piping hole with 70mm diameter holecore drill at either the right or the left of indoor unit. The hole should be sightly slant to the outdoor side.

Outdoor unit Installation 1. Install the outdoor unit on the concrete or any solid base securely and horizontally by securing it with bolts (Ø12mm) and nuts. 2. If there is any vibration transmitted to the building, mount the rubber underneath the outdoor unit.

Refrigerant amount Before shipment, this air conditioner is filled with the rated amount of refrigerant including additional amount required for air-purging, subject to 5m piping length. (The rated amount of refrigerant is indicated on the name plate.) But when the piping length exceeds 5 meters, additional charge is required according to the following table.

14.3 Wiring Connection 14.3.1 Connecting the Cable to Indoor Unit • In order to protect cable, it should be inserted “Bushing Rubber”. • The inside and outside connecting cable can be connected after opening the inlet grille. 1. Open the inlet grille manually.

2. Open the control cover with Driver( ).

3. Connect the supplied cables to the connector in the control box. (Method "A") AP-Z286RC0[P03AH SR0], AP-Z488TC0[P05AH ST0])

14.3.2 Connection cable to outdoor unit The unit is completely wired internally at the factory according to general rule of electrical technology, but local rules, if they are required, should be complied with.

1. Power supply Power source must fulfill the following conditions: • The working voltage should be higher than 90% and lower than 110% of the rated voltage marked on the name plate.

• The screws which fasten the wiring in the casing of electrical fittings are liable to come loose from vibrations to which the unit is subjected during the course of transportation. Check them and make sure that they are all tightly fastened. (If they are loose, it could give rise to burn-out of the wires.)

• The following troubles would be caused by voltage drop-down. Vibration of a magnetic switch, damage on the contact point there of, fuse breaking, disturbance to the normal function of a overload protection device.

14.4 Checking the Drainage and Form the Piping 14.4.1 Checking the Drainage 1. Remove the inlet grille with your hands as shown (right and left) and pull in the direction indicated by the arrow.

2. Check the drainage • Pour a glass of water into the drain pan. • Ensure if water flows drain hose of indoor unit.

14.4.2 Form the Piping 1. Wrap the connecting portion of indoor unit with the insulation material and secure it with two Plastic Bands. (for the right piping) • If you connect an additional drain hose, the end of the drain-outlet should be kept distance from the ground. (Do not dip it into water, and fix it on the wall to avoid swinging in the wind.)

3. Form the piping gathered by taping along the exterior wall and fix it onto the wall by saddle or equivalent.

Drain water treatment of outdoor unit(Heat Pump Only) 1. When using the drain elbow hose, use a mount of 3cm of higher. 2. In the cold district (0°c continued for 2~3 day), the drain water is frozen and the fan fail to function, do not use the drain elbow.
